Back and Ready to Rumble!

First of all, I hope we haven't lost too many readers after being down for nearly two weeks. We appreciate your patience during this time and, even though we were down, our readers still visited us daily. We appreciate the loyalty. That loyalty is due you as well and we owe you an explanation and an indication of how I'm going to handle my duties as webmaster and editor now that I have to cope full time with a constant, nagging pinched nerve. But it hasn't deadened the nerve and so with nerve I press onward as you'll see in my explanation, Whose 'pit crew' will you join?

Prayers & Blessings to His Holiness John Paul II on his 81st Birthday

Will the flickering lights of 81 candles last much longer? We need to pray that in these late autumn years of the Pope's life he will not leave the Church gasping for air.

In our commentary today, we return after nearly two weeks recuperating. We share some of our epiphany during this down time, which afforded us much time for prayer and research. What we have discovered is that as our Sovereign Pontiff celebrates his 81st birthday today the celebration is muted by the din of discord that has permeated Holy Mother Church. She has been denuded and exposed and the Holy Father has to take account in his dying years of what he has wrought through his insistance on ecumenism which has taken away the uniqueness of the Catholic spirit and has greatly weakened the ramparts of the four universal marks of our holy Church. For The absolutes of our Faith demand it! - part two of How close are we? see CATHOLIC PewPOINT

One man's music is oft another man's temptation

If you think Napster is unethical and don't realize it is only the tip of a moral iceberg, you're going to get caught napping!

"The violations of the Ten Commandments all proceed one from the other. If we make false gods out of the idols of this world, it is easy to profane Godís Holy Name and all sacred things, to profane the Lordís Day, to dishonor our parents, to kill innocent human beings, to engage in wanton acts in violation of the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, to steal the property of others, to bear false witness, and to envy the goods of others."

In today's issue Thomas A. Droleskey, Ph.D. weighs in on the real crux of the the whole Napster controversy that goes to the heart of why society has become corrupt. It isn't about the music or even the lyrics - as obscene and offensive as they are at times - for MP3 could stand for "Most Profane in the 3rd Millennium". What it really is all about is the not-so-hidden intent, the conspiracy, if you will, that has caught the majority of civilization napping as satan marched right in and ripped us off. Cardinal Adam Maida: We implore you to call Michigan Congressman David Bonior to task for his fence-sitting pro-abort stance.

Today we resume our "Herod's Hero" series that will cover the 15 remaining pro-abort politicians who claim to be Catholic. Today's Herod's Hero is the Democratic Representative in the United States House from Michigan's 10th District, the Honorable David E. Bonior. There's nothing honorable about how he, as a 'Catholic,' has promoted the culture of death. We call on him to repent and for his Archbishop in Detroit Cardinal Adam L. Maida along with Bonior's shepherd in Washington D.C. Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, to issue the ultimatum of the "Bell, Book, and Candle" if he will not hear even the Church. We beg of the Bishops, to stand up for the Roman Catholic Church, to exact the discipline all Catholics are expected to follow. By Bonior's fence-sitting 55% pro-abortion record during 13 terms in the House, he has shown a tendancy to turn away from God by showing a disdain for Catholic doctrine and being a willing accomplice to satan. We implore Mr. Bonior to amend his ways, to turn away from embracing the pro-abort stance with no mercy for the lives of millions of unborn. For another betrayer who seeks to perpetuate the culture of death and slay the innocents, see HEROD'S HEROES

Cardinal Adam Maida: We implore you to call Michigan Congressman John Dingell to task for his fence-sitting pro-abort stance.

The 59th Herod's Hero is the Democratic Representative in the United States House from Michigan's 16th District, the Honorable John D. Dingell. There's nothing honorable about how he, as a 'Catholic,' has promoted the culture of death. We call on him to repent and for his Archbishop in Detroit Cardinal Adam L. Maida along with Dingell's shepherd in Washington D.C. Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, to issue the ultimatum of the "Bell, Book, and Candle" if he will not hear even the Church. We beg of the Bishops, to stand up for the Roman Catholic Church, to exact the discipline all Catholics are expected to follow. By Dingell's pitiful 60% pro-abortion record during 24 long terms in the House, he has shown a tendancy to turn away from God by showing a disdain for Catholic doctrine and being a willing accomplice to satan. We implore Mr. Dingell to amend his ways, to turn away from embracing the pro-abort stance with no mercy for the lives of millions of unborn. For another betrayer who seeks to perpetuate the culture of death and slay the innocents, see HEROD'S HEROES

Archbishop Harry Flynn: We implore you to call Minnesota Congressman Bill Luther to task for his fence-sitting pro-abort stance.

The 60th Herod's Hero is the Democratic Representative in the United States House from Minnesota's 6th District, the Honorable Bill Luther. There's nothing honorable about how he, as a 'Catholic,' has promoted the culture of death. We call on him to repent and for his Archbishop in St. Paul-Minneapolis Archbishop Harry J. Flynn along with Luther's shepherd in Washington D.C. Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, to issue the ultimatum of the "Bell, Book, and Candle" if he will not hear even the Church. We beg of the Bishops, to stand up for the Roman Catholic Church, to exact the discipline all Catholics are expected to follow. By Luther's unyielding 97% pro-abortion record during his 4 terms in the House, he has shown a tendancy to turn away from God by showing a disdain for Catholic doctrine and being a willing accomplice to satan. We implore Mr. Luther to amend his ways, to turn away from embracing the pro-abort stance with no mercy for the lives of millions of unborn. For another betrayer who seeks to perpetuate the culture of death and slay the innocents, see HEROD'S HEROES

Day of the Martyrs

Today is the Feast of the 53rd successor of Peter, Pope Saint John I. He was born in Tuscany and became a priest and then bishop before being elected Pope on August 13, 523. John was asked to go to Constantinople to settle issues regarding the Arians for the Arianism heresy was running rampant. He became the first pope to visit Constantinople and while there he crowned Justinian emperor. This did not sit well with his rival, the ribald Theodoric who retaliated violently by invading Italy and imprisoning the Pope, accusing John of treason and threw him into shackles in Ravenna where he died on this day in 526 of neglect and starvation. It is also the Traditional Feast of the martyr Saint Venantius, who was made to suffer cruel torments, and was beheaded at Ancone in 250 A.D. Below is a special prayer in his honor.

Prayer of St. Venantius

O God, Who hast sanctified this day by the triumph of Thy Blessed Martyr Venantius, graciously hear the prayers of Thy people, and grant that we who venerate his merits may follow the example of his constancy in faith. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.

"Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if a man be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he shall be compared to a man beholding his own countenance in a glass: for he beheld himself and went his way, and presently forgot what manner of man he was. " James 1: 22-23

The day the eventual 264th successor of Peter breathed his first breath

On Friday May 18th 81 years ago in 1920, in the vintage village of Wadowice Emelia Kaczorowska Wojtyla gave birth to a tiny bundle she and her husband Karol Sr., a lieutenant in the Polish Army, named Karol Jozef. He would of course go on to become a priest despite the persecution of the Nazis and then the communists. Pope Pius XII would make him a bishop, and from there he would become the Archbishop of Krakow and a Cardinal, destined to sit on the throne of Peter on October 16, 1978 as the first non-Italian Pope since Pope Hadrian VI in 1522. The magnetic pull of good!

"The psychological effect is entirely different when those who truly love God do wrong. The difference between them and others is like to that between a waif who steals and a devoted son who steals. The first does not feel the rupture of a relationship; the second does. The latter has hurt one whom he really loves. Furthermore, the waif does not feel the urge to restore the broken buds of love, but the ordinary good boy does. There is a mysterious magnet operating in the case of the good. As the steel filings fly to the attraction of the magnet, leaving the dirt behind, so the good are pulled back again to God, but only after having shaken the dust of evil from their lives."
