Has homo sapiens lost its instincts?
It would seem so since even the goose nourishes and protects her own while mankind shamefully disposes of millions of their own through abortion.

In this issue Joe Dalton announces the good news that another little Dalton is on the way with wife Jane expecting in October. He shares the euphoria and also asks why there aren't more children today. Oh, that's right. Abortion. He compares the nesting instinct of the goose and wonders where has man gone wrong. How could a mother allow a living person in her womb to be senselessly slaughtered. Even the animal kingdom would seem to have higher values than modern man. For his column The Goose, see FAITH IN THE FAMILY

Bishop Saltarelli: We implore you to call Delaware Senator Joseph Biden to task for his pro-abortion stance.

Bishop SaltarelliCardinal McCarrick   Today's "Herod's Hero" is the Democratic Senator from Delaware Senator Joseph Biden. We call on him to repent and for his shepherd in the Diocese of Wilmington Bishop Michael A. Saltarelli along with Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, Shepherd of the nation's capitol see, to issue the ultimatum of the "Bell, Book, and Candle" if Senator Biden will not hear even the Church. We beg of you, dear Bishops, to stand up for the Roman Catholic Church, to exact the discipline all Catholics are expected to follow. By Biden's pro-abortion record during his five terms in the senate, he has shown a disdain for Catholic doctrine and has been a willing accomplice to satan. We implore him to amend his ways, to turn away from embracing the pro-abort stance with no mercy for the lives of millions of unborn. By his actions as a 'Catholic' he is guilty of being an accomplice to murder through his promotion, voting record and legislation of pro-abortion measures. For another betrayer who seeks to perpetuate the culture of death and slay the innocents, see HEROD'S HEROES

The Truth and nothing but the Truth must be upheld always

Today in our 222nd installment of our catechetical series on My Catholic Faith we present the first of two parts on the Eighth Commandment "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." In this issue we will treat primarily the Seventh Commandment as we concentrate mainly on the act of lying and deceiving in itself and the dangers of misleading others. For today's installment, see APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH.

Pope pops into new Beamer after General Audience in accepting crafted wheels from Germany

Talk about a fast response. Just a few days after it was revealed that the Holy Father really lit into the bishops in Deutchland to toe the line, Germany is showing their gratitude...or it could just be the coincidence of a generous gesture to the Roman Pontiff, but one thing is for sure - the German makers of BMW presented the Holy Father with a brand new BMW black sedan along with three BMW motorcycles matching the papal flag colors. The luxury sedan was presented to the Pope after his Wednesday General Audience where the vehicles were waiting outside Paul VI. No word on whether he took a spin in it yet. Capitol's Cardinal taps into unusual environment to reach his flock

Some kiddingly referred to Cardinal Theodore McCarrick's visit to a local pub as just "scoping it out for St. Paddy's Day" but in truth he was accepting an invitation to speak to 500 young Catholic adults, part of "Theology on Tap," who were meeting in a bar in downtown Washington. We would hope someone approached him about taking some definitive action over sanctioning 'Catholic' pro-abort politicians under his jurisdiction on Capitol Hill. For more, see USA News

Pro-Abort factions ready to get vile in planning and scheming to thwart Pro-Life efforts!

While the UN Population Fund and International Planned Parenthood Federation met in London to strategize war plans against the Sanctity of Life, NOW president Patricia Ireland was launching a venemous attack on Father Frank Pavone and his Priests for Life organization on FoxNews' "Hannity & Colmes" Tuesday night. In trying to rally pro-aborts to action on April 22, she hissed lies at the conservative host Sean Hannity, a Catholic, and infuriated Pro-Life advocates by claiming Fr. Frank is going to use violence at abortion clinics, sending the fear factor throughout. It's dirty pool and she needs to be exposed as the fraud she is! For more, see Pro Life News

Mother Teresa honored with life-size statue in Calcutta

A life-size statue of Mother Teresa by British sculptor Jonathan Wylder was unveiled in Calcutta yesterday. It depicts Mother Teresa with her hands in an often seen pose of praying. Amid hymn-singing, the statue was unveiled at the Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity headquarters. "When we see the statue we feel she is there,'' said Sister Nirmala, the superior general of the Missionaries of Charity who succeeded Mother Teresa. "We are reminded of the love and blessings of Mother who may not be physically among us but guiding us from above." For more, see Universal News    ALSO:

The Voice of the Disciple
It is a wonderful thing, worthy of faith, and passing all human understanding, that Thou, O Lord my God, true God and man, art contained whole and entire under a small appearance of bread and wine, and without being consumed, art eaten by him who receives thee! Thou, the Lord of all things, Who has need of none, has willed by the sacrament to dwell in us. Preserve my heart and my body without stain, that with glad and clean conscience I may often be able to celebrate Thy mysteries, and to receive for mine eternal salvation what Thou has ordained and instituted, for Thine own especial honor and perpetual memorial.
From Book IV, Chapter II of "Imitation of Christ" by Thomas a Kempis.

Cardinal John McCloskey First American-born Cardinal elevated to the Conclave by Blessed Pius IX 126 years ago

On this day in 1875 Pope Pius IX named Cardinal John McCloskey, the Archbishop of New York, as the very first American-born cardinal from the United States. Of Irish descent, Cardinal McCloskey was born during the pontificate of Pope Pius VII and ordained during the papacy of Pope Gregory XVI and created the first Bishop of Buffalo by Pius IX. He died on May 5, 1902 in New York City. Since then every Archbishop of New York has been declared a cardinal including Cardinal Edward Egan who was elevated to the College of Cardinals on February 22nd this year in Rome as the seventh consecutive archbishop of New York to be created a cardinal since Cardinal McCloskey on this day 126 years ago. The greater our love for God, the less our needs in this world

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Contentment is based on the idea that 'our sufficiency is not from ourselves but from God.' The soul does not desire or lack more than what God has supplied him. His will suits his state after he has exhausted his resources and his desire does not exceed his power. Hence everything that happens is judged to be as good and worthy of Divine appointment. As Socrates observed: 'He is nearest to God who needs the fewest things.'"
