United Nations Population Fund, IPPF Confirm Mutual Goals
LONDON, Mar 14, 01 (CWNews.com/LSN.ca) - Leaders of the
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and International
Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) met in London this
week to discuss their mutual goals of abortion's provision
and spread throughout the world under the guise of
"reproductive health promotion."
Thoraya Obaid, the executive director of UNFPA, met with
IPPF's Director-General Ingar Brueggemann, as well as with
IPPF central and regional directors.
A press release from IPPF, the world's largest abortion
provider, highlights the similarities between the two
organizations giving the lie to the UNFPA's claims that it
is not pro-abortion. "The complementary work of UNFPA and
IPPF, shared values, and increased coordination of the
organizations' roles were all addressed ... In her welcome
address, Mrs. Brueggemann reaffirmed the UNFPA-IPPF
relationship, underscored by the Memorandum of
Understanding signed between the two agencies," says the
IPPF release.
