Cannon balls hailed down on both the Turks and Christians at LepantoAnchored in hope, the Christian Fleet of Don Juan of Austria defeated the mighty Turkish Armada at LepantoThe Holy League of NationsLike Lepanto, we need to pray the Rosary for victory for Life in NovemberLightning can strike twice! Like Lepanto, we can do it again! All it takes is an artillery of Hail Mary's in asking God for a victory for the Sanctity of Life! Miracles can happen!!!

Fatima Statue is in Rome this weekend St. Pius V rallied the faithful to entreat Our Lady to help with victory at Lepanto. We must do the same for the unborns.    In our editorial this week, we remember the great victory at the Battle of Lepanto and the reason for that victory and ask why we cannot duplicate that noble effort with our prayers for the upcoming election one month from the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Just as Pope Saint Pius V did in 1571, so also Pope John Paul II is also as he entrusts the world this weekend to Mary's Immaculate Heart under God's tender care. He will do so in Rome before the Fatima Statue of Our Lady, brought to the Vatican for this occasion from Portugal. It is the same statue whose crown holds the bullet taken from the side of the Holy Father on May 13, 1981. In thanksgiving and petition for the Sanctity of Life, His Holiness will lead a worldwide Rosary. Let's join in and keep the ammo coming right up to election time and beyond. It is our Battle of Lepanto and winning is the only goal! It's a matter of life and death! For our commentary, Just like Lepanto, the victory can be ours if we want it badly enough! see CATHOLIC PewPOINT

  • FRIDAY
    First Friday

On October 6th, the FIRST FRIDAY dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus during the month designated as RESPECT LIFE MONTH, we bring you Sister Mary Lucy Astuto's column on the Blessed Virgin Mary and Sister's astute description of how to explain to non-Catholics Our Lady's role in salvation and the fact Catholics do not worship her, but rather honor her, just as we honor our own earthly mothers, just as her Divine Son Jesus expects.
    SATURDAY
Our Lady of the Rosary - beautiful original painting copyrighted by Matthew Brooks, used with his permission

On October 7th this year FIRST SATURDAY falls on the glorious Feast of OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY, renamed by Blessed Pope John XXIII in 1960. Pope Saint Pius V had proclaimed the day Our Lady of Victory on this day in 1571 after the Pope entreated the people to pray Rosaries to help bring about the miraculous victory at Lepanto.
    SUNDAY

On October 8th we bring you the third of four installments on the important document Dominus Jesus released by the Holy See on September 5th this year by Cardinal Ratzinger's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith directly addressing the doctrine of "No Salvation Outside the Church."
    MONDAY

On October 9th, columnist Pat Ludwa provides a sound essay on the "Chair of Peter" and what infallibility means. He syllogizes how Jesus empowered His chosen Rock to have apostolic power handed down over the centuries via the anointed Vicar of Christ for His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Today, just as in Jesus' time, we echo, "Lord, to whom shall we go?"
    TUESDAY
Few visit Jesus in the Tabernacle

On October 10th we bring you the thirteenth installment of Cyndi Cain's inspirational SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING. We need only visit Jesus regularly in the Tabernacle to discover in the inner depths of our heart and soul that it's not about keeping up with the Jones that counts, but keeping up with Him Who gives us life for He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
    WEDNESDAY

On October 11th in his Pro-Life Prescriptions column Dr. Frank Joseph pleads with mothers contemplating an abortion to rethink what they are doing and consider the consequences both for their own physical and mental well-being, in which he provides statistics to convince them they'll regret it, not to mention the spiritual state of their soul and, oh yes, the soul and life of the person inside their wombs.
    THURSDAY

On October 12th, we continue our GIFT OF OUR FAITH series beginning today on the Second Commandment, which commands us that "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord Thy God in vain". By this directive given to His people, God commands us to always speak with reverence of God, of the saints, and of holy things...to honor His Holy Name, and to always be truthful in taking oaths and be faithful to our promises and vows
