CATHOLIC PewPOINT for Friday-Thursday, September 15-21, 2000
To hasten the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart it truly takes a tsunami of graces to flood men's souls! !

Before we proceed with this week's commentary, I wanted to alert all our readers that this editor will be undergoing prostate surgery next week and will be out of commission for a good month at least. Since the cancer was discovered a year and a half ago, I have been undergoing treatment and shots, and though the cancer has slowed, it is still there so there's really only one option left. Cut me open and get it out! Because of this "interruption" we have been working frantically to format issues a month ahead so you'll still have a new issue each day. The only thing we won't be able to provide is our own spin on the Daily News & Views. However, to keep you up to date on a daily basis, we are providing eight excellent Catholic News sources that you can rely on with total trust.

We have so many readers out there among The DAILY CATHOLIC family who have e-mailed us, called us, or written to us, and are already praying for me, that I can feel the power of their prayers as I await this coming Wednesday morning. I'm at total peace and totally entrust myself to God's care, but I must admit I'm anxious about the recovery time since I've never ever been out of commission for more than a week in my life and I fear I might go stir-crazy. But I have a loving wife to care for me and with your prayers and Cyndi's tender touch I'm going to have to get used to being pampered. I guess it's that macho thing that you don't want anyone to wait on you, to be there for your every beckon need. But that's part of the lesson of humility and, no man is an island. Therefore, I go with complete confidence, knowing I'm a survivor because of God's graces and a totally devoted spouse. Despite my stubbornness, I will emerge victorious because of all your prayers. I am most grateful to all of you for your love, Masses, Rosaries, Novenas and prayers that you have offered for a successful surgery and my recovery. Your thoughtfulness and devotion to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts will not go unrewarded. Your responses give hope that the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart is near.

Speaking of that, I kind of hate to go under the knife at this particular time because things are just heating up, literally. Many prophesied events are happening at a rapid pace. But, because of that, the times are also getting critical and we should be greatly concerned. The events this month are laying the groundwork for what satan has planned ever since he was dumped on his belly and forced to crawl in the dirt (cf. Genesis 3: 14). Today, the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows is indeed a sad day for the Blessed Mother and her Divine Son Jesus. It should be for us, too. Wait! Aren't we supposed to "celebrate" feasts? Yes, but as we head into the fall of the first millennium, the emphasis is on fall! As in 'oh, how far we have fallen!' There is little to celebrate in Heaven for our actions here on earth. Let's face it folks, the Church Militant is not holding up its end of the bargain!

Why would we say that? Consider the circumstances. The battle front for defending the Sanctity of Life and decency is bruised and bloody. On all sides we are being attacked, from the small child to the parent, from the poor to the Pope. That's right, the Vicar of Christ himself John Paul II came face to face with satan on September 6th and the Pope held his own. The brazenness of the evil one manifested himself in the hallowed of hallows - St. Peter's Basilica in Rome through a possessed 19-year old Italian girl from Monza, Italy. It wasn't the first time, but it was the first time the devil dared the Holy Father directly. Even the Diocese of Rome's chief exorcist Father Gabriel Amorth was helpless against the onslaughts of hell's fury. Both he and the Pope were only able to apply a bandaid for this basilisk of Babel. ZENIT News reported that, "When the Pope finished his customary 'popemobile' tour of St. Peter's Square, greeting pilgrims from close up, he met the possessed girl in a separate area. He exorcized her and prayed for her for half an hour. Finally, he promised to offer his Mass the following day for her, so that she would be released from her possession. It seems the exorcism only gave the girl some temporary relief." To show you the power of the evil one, consider the following, also from ZENIT. "Fr. Gabriele Amorth, who perhaps is the most famous exorcist in the world because of his successful books, among which is 'An Exorcist Speaks' (Planeta+Testimonio), 1998, said: 'I exorcised the girl the day before, in the morning, together with Fr. Giancarlo Gramolazzo, another exorcist of Rome. The girl is really a splendor of goodness and beauty. She suffers atrocious ailments, which she offers to the Lord for the conversion of sinners. It is a terrible case of demonic possession. It is terribly sad to see her suffer, totally twisted.' According to Fr. Amorth, 'the Pope saw her, he called her, patted her, and treated her very affectionately for half an hour. He told her that the next morning, Thursday, he would offer Mass for her. Bishop Danzi was present at the exorcism. The following day, on Thursday afternoon, I exorcised her again, together with Fr. Giancarlo; it lasted 2 hours. Bishop Danzi also took part in this exorcism.' On this occasion, the diabolic voice alluded to the meeting with the Pope the previous day. 'How happy the demon was,' Fr. Amorth said. He had some laughs. He even had the girl say to me: 'Not even your boss (that is, the Pope) has been able to do anything with me!'"

Do you see how powerful lucifer is? Is it any wonder that in these times satanic activity is so prevalent the world over? Satan has no shame. He is getting more desperate every day, every second as the sands of time drift away. Slowly but surely, grain by grain, his days are numbered and he knows it. Oh, he won't let on he's running scared. But his actions and feverish pitch and the lengths to which he has gone over the last thirty years betray his confidence. Why else would he be in such a panic?

The Blessed Virgin Mary said at Fatima that "in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph." Many visionaries and messengers have been told it will be soon. Father Don Stefano Gobbi received various messages that it would be this year. But before anyone starts to camp out and wait for the glorious moment, they need to realize her heart can't triumph unless we will it to, unless we allow it to, unless we help it to. You see, there's no doubt it's up to us. Cyndi has received countless times Our Lady's counsel that if only we would pray with and from the heart, if only we would will with our heart and soul, her heart would triumph immediately. It's not something that will happen that will be flashed as a bulletin on the national news. It's not something that will have banner headlines. It's not something many will know about until it touches them. Then they'll know. The Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart is an on-going process. There are many who understand this, many who are responding and many who have experienced this mystical mystery of Mary's Heart in their own hearts.

Once we give our wills totally to God it can begin. His Love and Mercy flow unendingly from His Sacred Heart, reaching each person as He generously sprinkles the earth. For each one of us it starts as a drop of grace, then builds into a small pool of inspiration and soon it washes into our hearts with a pond of love and determination that motivates us to spread this Heavenly exhilaration. Like a ripple in a gentle stream it floats out towards the edges, touching first our family, then our parish family, then our community and then to the world...all for her Divine Son Jesus. The more who experience this spiritual phenomena, the more the tide will rise and cascade over the edges of hardhearts, splashing others with our deeds and prayers. The more the tide rises, the deeper the love for God. The deeper the love for God, the more people will want to return to His laws, to His promise of salvation. The more this happens, the more our separated brethren will return to the fold, like the prodigal son returning to his family after realizing that is where the truth and love of God truly resides. The more they repent and convert, the more they will motivate others to let go of their earthly trappings. The more they let go of temporal things, the more will sins of abortion, homosexuality, promiscuity, perjury, larceny, and a litany of other wrongs will be washed away by Christ's Precious Blood. The more those vices are extrapolated, the more people will warm to returning to God, inebriated with His Love. The more who return to God, the more will a cleansing take place until it flows from countless tributaries into a sea of Faith, Hope and Charity. The more these virtues take hold, the stronger the force of graces. The stronger the force of graces, the weaker are the denizens of the deep throes of hell. The more who compose this tremendous Heavenly swell, the more it will rise to the Heavens until in one tremendous, indescribable moment a tsunami of love will wash the world in His Love and Mercy and drown the evil fire. When that happens, and only when that happens will Mary's Immaculate Heart have triumphed totally. When that happens, and only when that happens, will Mary crush the head of the serpent as foretold of the woman of the Apocalypse and Revelation, "And a great sign appeared in Heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars" (Apocalypse/Revelation 12: 1).

In fact that chapter brings us full circle from Genesis 3: 15, "I will put enmity between your seed and her seed; He shall crush your head, and you shall lie in wait for His heel." Many are confused by this, especially non-Catholics. They point to this as being confusing and that Catholics are wrong when they say Mary will crush the serpent's head. They point to this passage as saying it won't be Mary. They're right, it will be her Divine Son. But it is He Who chose Mary as Advocate, Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of all graces. We know, that's hard for non-Catholics to understand. So is the most recent declaration Dominus Jesus from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on the reaffirmation of the solid Church Doctrine of "No Salvation Outside the Church." But that is because they have wandered, lured away in past centuries by the apple of pride. Like Eve they took the bait, thinking they could be like God. It doesn't work that way. Adam and Eve proved that and we've been paying for it ever since. But God, in His Infinite Love and Mercy, did not leave us hanging forever. It took many millenniums but, as He promised and conveyed to His chosen prophets of the Old Testament, He would send a Messiah, a Savior. But before the Savior, He would send a "New Eve" - the Blessed Virgin Mary whose heart, soul and body were conceived immaculately in order to provide the perfect vessel - the perfect Tabernacle for the Son of God. Nothing but perfection would do. He's God! And, as a reward for her willingness God has deigned that she serve as Co-Redemptrix and therefore, on behalf of her Divine Son, and, as a special thorn in satan's psyche ("I will put enmity between you and the woman, between her seed and your seed.") He will give this ultimate honor to His Own Mother. The prophet Isaiah affirms the prophecy in Isaiah 7: 14 where the prophet foretold, "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name Him Emmanuel." The Apostle Paul also confirmed this in Romans 16: 20, "But the God of peace will speedily crush satan under your feet." Though it is Mary's heel, it is God's force.

The whole psyche of this is that satan is battle-tested, but he's also very, very macho. He can take losing mano-en-mano to Christ, he can take duking it out with various male saints, with the Popes, including our Holy Father on September 6th. But he can't take losing to a woman. And that's the rub, God is getting under his skin but good with the knowledge that a mere human, a woman no less, a weak, obedient underling to this powerful fallen angel, will be his demise. Is it any wonder he hates Mary so? Is it any wonder he hates the Rosary so? The Rosary, a bouquet of spiritual roses are lovingly presented by her children. She in turn offers it lovingly to the Triune Divinity, Who in turn return it to her two-fold. One in graces; the second, by transforming the bouquet of roses into a strong mystical chain, a chain that will eventually bind the demon.

The devil knows it and that's why he's so agitated right now. He's starting to panic. Is it a coincidence that he confronted the Vicar of Christ - the most trusted man of the century - on the very same day the largest confluence of world leaders ever had gathered at the UN to knowingly or unknowingly further satan's own agenda of a One-World Order? Think about it. The Pope is the only world leader that stands between the devil and his total domination of the world. And, because of the holiness of this great Pontiff, and the sanctity and obedience of many of his flock universally, satan has been deterred from accomplishing all he can. That's why this confrontation was inevitable. That's why the times are very dire and will only get worse spiritually before they get better. That's why God is calling on His faithful sons and daughters to come forward, to carry the standard of Christ into battle and not be afraid! To dauntlessly march into the valley of death and realize that, if we are obedient to our marching orders through the chain of command of Holy Mother Church and her teachings, then, with the Blessed Trinity on our side, we will come out more alive than ever! John Paul the Great has already shown the love of Christ in treating the possessed girl. In true Christ-like compassion, he comforted her and stayed with her for half an hour, thirty minutes in the presence of the once highest, and most glorious of angels, now defiled and the most vile creature that exists. That had to be an interminably long and excruciating time for him, but moreso for ol' horn-head. Maybe now he'll be more depressed for he has confronted Christ's commander-in-chief on earth and the Pope didn't blink!

One would think an exorcism by the Sovereign Pontiff would be enough to drive the demons away forever, but then one forgets what we have been talking about. We can't rely on only one person, even the Pope, to drive the devil away. That "takes a village," a universal village of committed souls. For to change the world, to return totally to the way God wills for His children, to hasten the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart it truly takes a tsunami of graces to flood men's souls!
