Pro-Life Prescriptions:

Begone, satan!

Dear God, please cleanse this land of lies and deceit, suppress the culture of death in order that the Sanctity of Life may blossom anew.
"Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love, Send Forth, O Lord, Thy Spirit and they shall be created and Thou shalt renew the face of the earth."

The prince of darkness will not go away easily and neither will the Clinton-Gore administration for they are made of the same cloth - asbestos!

In today's issue, Dr. Frank Joseph emphasizes the reasons why George W. Bush's certification is legitimate and why Al Gore's desperate persistance and state of denial only add fuel to satan's already roaring fire. Dr. Frank laments the fifty percent of Catholics who refused to obey the Church's staunch and undeniable teaching against promoting abortion by voting on November 7th for a pro-abort candidate in Al Gore. While his minions and those in legion with him such as Planned Parenthood and that ilk desperately continue to cling to any vestige of deceit, spin or twisting of the laws so their mandate can continue, decency is beginning to raise its beautiful head and smother the culture of death's lethal weeds of destruction. As the Gardener wields His winnowing fan and throws the chaff into the "unquenchable fire". In that conflagration of the chaff, many Catholics may wind up kindling for the eternal bonfire if they don't realize the error of their ways soon, very soon. For Dr. Joseph's column Desperation! Thy name is satan! see Pro-Life Prescriptions: LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born, I dedicated you."

    Jeremiah 1: 5

We are grateful to the artist Shannon Wirrenga (701-255-7312) for permission to use the phenomenal and touching original painting above of Jesus smiling at a newborn babe full of life, a life that He allows. It is appropriately titled "I Knew You," taken from Jeremiah 1: 5. No entity, matter or energy can exist without God and He alone gives and takes life. Life is the most precious gift we have been given. That is why we dedicate this section to the Sanctity of Life for so few realize the treasures it holds from conception to the grave.

Because the Pro-Life movement is so important to all Catholics, we are also very pleased to announce our association with PRO-LIFE COMMUNICATIONS, a telecommunications firm owned and operated by Joseph and Jane Dalton of St. Charles, Missouri. They are both devoted, staunch Catholics who have dedicated their lives to the Pro-Life cause for the sake of His little ones. We can't endorse their company and benefits enough. In addition, when you abandon AT&T, MCI, Sprint and all those others who contribute to abortion causes, you will not only be receiving better rates and people you can actually talk to rather than the ol' runaround, but for every person who signs up Pro-Life Communications will donate 100% of the net profits to help keep the DAILY CATHOLIC on line. It's a win-win-win situation that God richly blesses. It is not only a necessity to continue this ministry, but it's a necessity that every reader has the peace of mind of being with a phone company that is truly Pro-Life. We pray everyone will realize the need to make this commitment to help eradicate the culture of death.

The elections are over, but the battle for life is not. We cannot give up the fight. Please continue to pray for the Sanctity of Life and pray for those pro-abort candidates who were elected that they will have a conversion of heart and recognize the evil of their ways. Remember, nothing is impossible with God. We encourage you to go to the Pro-Life links below to keep up to date on the great battle between life and death - the Sanctity of Life vs. the culture of death led by pro-abort candidates and those who would advance murder, immorality, sodomy, perjury, etc.

Father, hear our prayers for mercy, and by the help of St. Nicholas keep us safe from all danger, and guide us on the way of salvation.

Taken from the Gospel for Wednesday's Mass

"Then Jesus called together His disciples and said, 'I have compassion on the crowd, for they have now been with Me three days, and have nothing to eat; and I am unwilling to send them away fasting, lest they faint on the way.'"

Matthew 15: 32
Advent Daily Novena Prayer for the First Wednesday of Advent

Heavenly angels and saints, you look down upon us in our earthly journey, this place of sorrow, and recognize what we are still striving to see - the Divinity of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. We beseech you to help us to raise our hearts to Heaven, where they might be touched by Divine Love. Then, aflame with love, may we work ceaselessly to prepare not only our own hearts, but our whole world to proclaim Jesus as King and Messiah.

Day Seven of the Special Novena in Preparation for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Blessed Pope Pius IX proclaims the Dogma of the Immaculate ConceptionThe Immaculate Conception    Our country is consecrated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and in these times when satan is so furiously trying to choke the life out of so many, we turn to Our Lady in supplication as Mother of Prompt Succor, pleading with her to preserve the United States and return this beloved country, founded upon God's principles that "all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with the unalienable [inalienable] rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Today all three are greatly jeopardized as so many misinterpret the pure intent of our founding fathers and God's Will for His people. They did not found our great country on majority rules which would basically be democracy, nor that rights come from the state or the federal government, but from God. Because of that there can be no separation of Church and state. For man is free to worship, to live, to be free and to seek happiness. This can only happen through God, not man. Man has a free will and therefore can choose not to, but he has no right to impose his wrongs on others. We are protected under the law of the land - the Constitution - the the foundation of this country - and laws such as Roe vs. Wade are unconstitutional and therefore, cannot be recognized. In order to overturn these errors, we need to continue to pray to Our Lady who is the greatest intercessor before the Holy Trinity Thus, we continue with DAY SEVEN of this special nine-day Novena leading up to the glorious Solemnity of Mary's Immaculate Conception. It is taken from the Treasury of Novenas by Father Lawrence G. Lovasik, S.V.D. and published by the Catholic Book Company. See NOVENA.

Events that happened Today in Church History

Pope Clement VII     Today is the 473rd anniversary of the day Pope Clement VII, the 219th successor of Peter, procured from the troops of Protestant emperor Charles V the Holy Father's release from imprisonment in the fortress he had fled to at Castel Sant'Angelo. When Charles' battalions bore down on the Vatican during the height of the Protestant revolt, Clement VII fled across the wall leading from the Papal quarters to the mighty circular stone fortress overlooking the Tiber River as many Swiss Guards gave their lives for their Sovereign Pontiff's safety. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenGod deigns that nature be ever-giving
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"What a lesson nature teaches about selflessness! Clouds, playing like lambs in the pastures of the sky, never keep their treasures of moisture to themselves, but pour them out in the beautiful benediction of rain to a thirsty earth. No drop of water leads a selfish life. Their is no breeze without its mission."
