AT ONE WITH GOD
"...now they are no longer two, but one flesh" Matthew 19: 6

Society has turned our God-given roles topsy turvy. It's time to quit "role-playing" and to get back to fulfilling the roles God intended for husband and wife with no apology to anyone!

Society will turn back to God when husband and wives are honest with each other and fulfill the roles demanded of them by God!
The Keys to Reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love
Cyndi CainMichael Cain   After introducing this special series on the weekend of the special Jubilee of Families held October 13-14 in Rome, we continue today with the sixth lesson Reviving the roles God intended in which we put the finger on where society went wrong in turning away from God: By misinterpreting the God-given role given to man and woman, husband and wife. All the ills can be traced to this malady that has given birth to modernism and relativism, something Pope Leo XIII spoke strongly against over a century ago and yet the problem only grows worse because the Sanctity of Marriage and Life itself are threatened. This sensitive and enlightening series is co-written by Michael and Cyndi Cain, who share what the Holy Spirit has inspired them to write including intimate, chasteful revelations of their own lives that have helped elevate their Conjugal Love. The entire concept unlocks the keys to reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love and, through one couple at a time, like a ripple that extends ever outward, we can change the world and eradicate the culture of death. This series will run in each Saturday issue. For the sixth lesson, see AT ONE WITH GOD series on Conjugal Love

Because the Pro-Life movement is so important to all Catholics, we are also very pleased to announce our association with PRO-LIFE COMMUNICATIONS, a telecommunications firm owned and operated by Joseph and Jane Dalton of St. Charles, Missouri. They are both devoted, staunch Catholics who have dedicated their lives to the Pro-Life cause for the sake of His little ones. We can't endorse their company and benefits enough. In addition, when you abandon AT&T, MCI, Sprint and all those others who contribute to abortion causes, you will not only be receiving better rates and people you can actually talk to rather than the ol' runaround, but for every person who signs up Pro-Life Communications will donate 100% of the net profits to help keep the DAILY CATHOLIC on line. It's a win-win-win situation that God richly blesses. It is not only a necessity to continue this ministry, but it's a necessity that every reader has the peace of mind of being with a phone company that is truly Pro-Life. We pray everyone will realize the need to make this commitment to help eradicate the culture of death.

The elections are over, but the battle for life is not. We cannot give up the fight. Please continue to pray for the Sanctity of Life and pray for those pro-abort candidates who were elected that they will have a conversion of heart and recognize the evil of their ways. Remember, nothing is impossible with God. We encourage you to go to the Pro-Life links below to keep up to date on the great battle between life and death - the Sanctity of Life vs. the culture of death led by pro-abort candidates and those who would advance murder, immorality, sodomy, perjury, etc.

Day Three of the Special Novena in Preparation for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Blessed Pope Pius IX proclaims the Dogma of the Immaculate ConceptionThe Immaculate Conception    Our country is consecrated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and in these times when satan is so furiously trying to choke the life out of so many, we turn to Our Lady in supplication as Mother of Prompt Succor, pleading with her to preserve the United States and return this beloved country, founded upon God's principles that "all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with the unalienable [inalienable] rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Today all three are greatly jeopardized as so many misinterpret the pure intent of our founding fathers and God's Will for His people. They did not found our great country on majority rules which would basically be democracy, nor that rights come from the state or the federal government, but from God. Because of that there can be no separation of Church and state. For man is free to worship, to live, to be free and to seek happiness. This can only happen through God, not man. Man has a free will and therefore can choose not to, but he has no right to impose his wrongs on others. We are protected under the law of the land - the Constitution - the the foundation of this country - and laws such as Roe vs. Wade are unconstitutional and therefore, cannot be recognized. In order to overturn these errors, we need to continue to pray to Our Lady who is the greatest intercessor before the Holy Trinity Thus, we continue with DAY THREE of this special nine-day Novena leading up to the glorious Solemnity of Mary's Immaculate Conception. It is taken from the Treasury of Novenas by Father Lawrence G. Lovasik, S.V.D. and published by the Catholic Book Company. See NOVENA.

SATURDAY'S LITURGY:

    First Reading: Apocalypse/Revelation 22: 1-7
    Psalms: Psalm 95: 1-7
    Gospel Reading: Luke 21: 34-36
Observance of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday

All loving God, You created the human family as a reflection of Your Own Divine Life so that Your creation might share in Your happiness. Hear our prayer for Your daughters who await the birth of their children. They have cooperated with You in giving life. Assist them now as they prepare to give birth to the children in their womb. May Mary be their guide and support, calming fears and strengthening their love. May Your daughters be filled with Your peace and blessing so that they may bring their children into this world safely and in good health to the praise and glory of Your name. Amen.

The DAILY WORD
Taken from the Gospel for Saturday's Mass

"Watch, then, praying at all times that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are to be, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Luke 21: 36

Events that happened Today in Church History

Pope Pius VII Napoleon    Today is the 170th anniversary in 1830 when Pope Pius VII, in order to avert war, arrived in Paris to crown Napoleon Bonaparte as Emperor of France as a symbol of peace, but the little general's disregard for protocol and shabby disrespect for the Sovereign Pontiff by placing the crown on his own head rather than allowing the Pope to do so gave a visible omen of what was to come for Bonaparte would invade Rome and capture the Pope. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenWe must be servants of the Lord as He was for us

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"When Our Divine Lord said that the great must be as the least, He made the measure of greatness usefulness and service to one's neighbor in His name. Service of others is necessary because it involves the constant repression of those egotistic tendencies in us which exalt us at the expense of others."
