Month of the Mary Queen of the May
TUESDAY     May 23, 2006      Volume 17, no. 130

Rogation Days originated in the aftermath of the populace praying for protection from earthquakes and other calamities which had afflicted the diocese of Vienne in Dauphiné (France) in the fifth century. St. Mamertus, who was bishop of that diocese, instituted a penitential procession with public supplications on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Ascension Day. In 816, Pope Leo III introduced it into Rome, and soon after it became a general observance throughout the Church. The Litany of the Saints, the psalms and prayers sung during the procession on these days are supplications: hence the name of Rogation days (rogare, to ask) applied to them. The object of these "rogation” supplications is to appease the anger of God and avert the scourges of His justice, and to pray for the harvest. In these very times it is then appropriate to be praying Rosaries of Reparation for the blasphemies committed against the Son of God with the vile fiction The Da Vinci Code and the even more vile Great Sacrilege, aka Novus Ordo service fostered by the false church of Vatican II. That is why, small though the true Church Militant is today, all would do well to read Saint Paul's inerrant words of Divine Revelation, especially in Timothy 6. The Apostle Paul identifies the very culprits in that chapter and assures us of Christ's victory. Yes, we must do as the Apostle says:

For this Rogation Tuesday we bring you Father James Wathen's second part of his treatise on Christ's teachings to His Apostles in the fourteenth chapter of Saint John. What our Lord imparts is to instill in them a DESIRE FOR HEAVEN and that is the Virtue today with the corresponding flower to Mary as Queen of the May is the BLUEBELL. The Bluebell's delicate shell chimes quietly in a whispy wind reminding us of God's call to focus on our end goal - our Desire for Heaven, possible only through adherence to all Christ has taught and established in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church He founded.

We also continue to provide in our EyeOpeners section below several excellent articles we recommend for your reading below including Father Anthony Cekada's airtight argument on the drastic change of the 1968 Episcopal Consecrations that prove there aren't many bishops left around - especially in the conciliar church - and, sooner or later the Novus Ordinarians are going to have to deal with the very fact that their pope isn't even a valid bishop! We must continue to say the prayer:

"My God, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love You. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love You."
It is a measure of our commitment to that prayer whether we will pray and stand up for Christ.

If you want to read a book that traces the history of the Church and effectively puts the lie to the blasphemies in not only The Da Vinci Code but in the bigger scandal known as the conciLIAR church of Vatican II, then we cannot recommend strongly enough the excellent book by Fathers Dominic and Francisco Radecki, CMRI entitled Tumultuous Times. Reading this clear, uncompromising masterpiece will easily enable you to refute whatever Da Vinci Code enthusiasts will twist, as well as debunk all the novelties and innovations and heresies that have evolved from Vatican II. The Da Vinci Code is bad, but the false, One World Order conciliar church is worst. Far worse! You can still join a boycott at your local theater or, more effectively, continue daily your Rosary of Reparation. We urge you to continue to offer your Rosary as an Act of Reparation in union with all the other Rosaries to make amends for the blasphemies committed against the Most Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. Against The Da Vinci Code or against the conciLIAR church, it is the most powerful weapon we can have. Carry your Rosary with you always and pray it as often as you can in reparation for the sins committed against the Most Sacred and Merciful Heart and His Mother's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Pray for the restoration of the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ through the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart.

In keeping with Christ's assurance in Matthew 7: 19 that "Every tree that yieldeth not good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire" the disintegration of the Protestant-Masonic-Pagan man-made church is inevitable. The collapse of this synthetic pan-christian religion spawned from Vatican II, which has usurped the True Roman Catholic Church, is evident from the news reports below, the feature articles to the right beneath the Propers of the Mass. These features and our Credo page should be for all stunning

of the realization of what has been peddled by the conciliar church of Vatican II is not Catholic and contradicts what the True Church truly teaches as you'll find on our CREDO & CULTURE Page, and especially in the infrangible Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the true Liturgy for each day of the Church's liturgical year, which we provide daily for readers with the Ordinary and Proper of each Mass in both Latin and English so Catholics may truly continue to practice their Faith and truly KNOW THE FAITH in order to KEEP THE FAITH! Tried and True! Tridentine True! Accept no substitutes. Say No! to the NO!

While you will see we are providing a warning caution below, that caution does not apply to the four traditional sites below with logos: With Traditio, whether you agree with Fr. Moderator or not, you will always get the perennial position of Holy Mother Church without any trace of modernity. We also strongly recommend TraditionIn Action.org, Christorchaos.com and NovusOrdoWatch.org At these four Traditional Catholic sites we can assure you they will cut through the spin and chaff to get to Catholic truth. Sadly, we cannot guarantee that with Angelqueen below.

NOTE: The Daily Catholic furnishes the following continuous headline sites below for the convenience of the reader to be up on the latest news. We do not, we repeat, we do not give our approval of them, but only provide them information-wise. We caution, especially with Angelqueen, to beware of comments following stories posted for the "so-called authorities" have unfortunately turned out to be - more often than not - merely run-of-the-mill anonymous bloggers who take no accountability for what they say and set themselves up as self-appointed experts who exist on emoticon epithets against anything they don't like. Their latest attack on Tradition In Action is just proof of their unprofessional and dubious position and brings into great question their own credibility and whether they are even really practicing Traditional Catholics. The Novus Ordo sympathizers more and more logging on gives credence that Angelqueen has lost its edge in informing true Catholics. In addition, the attacks led by its blogmeister John Grasmeier (who few know anything about), has exhibited to posters a gestapo-like vice grip over all who disagree. Therefore, we issue this necessary warning caution: proceed at your own risk.

Father James F. Wathen presents his second part on the reflection of how Christ provided in His words recorded in the Gospel of Saint John 14, what one might call, a crash-course for His Apostles in refreshing them on His divinity and how He would be with them always before He would leave them and ascend into Heaven and then send His Spirit - the Holy Ghost - on Pentecost. Father points out how Christ assures His loyal followers that He will always be with them and, through faith, seen through the Paraclete Whom He would send after our Lord has returned to the Father on Ascension Thursday. The very success of the Church depends on how faithful His shepherds are to His teachings. Christ knows that their commitment is vital for His charge in Mark 16: 15-16 and Matthew 28: 20. He also knows well those who would betray Him, not only Judas, but those modern Judases today who have abandoned the Faith in posturing to be Catholic while embracing the mother of all heresies. And yet, even with these charlatans in sheeps' clothing, we can be assured Christ will never leave us alone and the gates of hell shall not prevail. Christ refreshes the Apostles Part II

    QUEEN OF THE MAY
One of the traditional devotions during Mary's Month of May is The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary which is an ancient prayer said by more than a few saints and was mandated by the holy St.Louis Marie de Montfort to those in his orders. It is a prayer said for each day of May. Along with this prayer there is another tradition that can be found in Fr. F.X. Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. On this twenty-third day of May the flower offered to Our Lady is the BLUEBELL with the corresponding Virtue being DESIRE FOR HEAVEN. The delicate bell-shaped flower which grows on many continents and belongs both to the hyacinth and columbine genus, is symbolic of the church bells that clarion souls to come to Holy Mass or to pray the Angelus. The reason for prayer is not for socializing, but for turning our attention to God and the purpose of desiring things not of this earth, but of Heaven. The Bluebell represents the Virtue of the Desire for Heaven
    Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey illustrates in his most recent article how society has rejected the safeguards set in place by previous Popes and the Legion of Decency in the earlier part of the 20th century and spurned the words of His Holiness Pope Pius XI. With all the brouhaha over The Da Vinci Code, Tom points out that there is a far worse scandal and blasphemy that has gone on for nigh over 40 years and it is the conciliar church. Tom asks "Who is going to start to organize Rosaries of Reparation in front of chancery offices and schools and universities and colleges and seminaries, to say nothing of in Piazza San Pietro itself in the State of Vatican City? The Roncalli Code and the Montini Code and the Wojtyla Code and the Ratzinger Code have proved to be far more injurious to the good of souls than anything conjured up by the forces of popular culture." Strong words that Tom backs up with Catholic truth in The Devil's Payback for The Passion of The Christ

The twenty-second flower offered today is the yellow BUTTERCUP with the corresponding Virtue being OBEDIENCE. The Buttercup, with its five petals and small, humble appearance is a most fitting reminder of obedience for the 15 Mysteries of the Rosary are divided into three sets of five and begin with the Annunciation, which epitomizes obedience for Our Lady's fiat paved the way for the ultimate obedience to the Father with her Divine Son's Passion, Death and Resurrection so that salvation could be attained through the merits of Jesus Christ. The Buttercup represents the Virtue of Obedience
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Fifth Sunday after Easter, he tackles the very essence of what Catholics believe and wherein all the controversy has arisen from the gnostics of the first century to the agnostics of the twenty-first century. Despite the twisted fiction of The Da Vinci Code and the even more twisted fiction of Catholic truth by the false church of Vatican II, true Catholic Truth is clearly delineated in the Gospels and Sacred Scriptures with prophesies of the Old Testament fulfilled in the New Testament that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, One Person with two natures - human and divine. The Second Person of the Blessed Trinity - the God-man was a man like all others except He could not sin. That debunks any rubbish that Christ physically begot a child in the fictitious Merevingian Line. It is all fable, and yet, even in fable, it is vital to express the truth for there are many fools who will believe the lies the evil one fabricates. They who believe the lies and blasphemies are cooperators with the Antichrist. Father explains in his sermon "He was by nature God"

Today on the twenty-first day of May the flower offered to Our Lady as Queen of the May is the bluish PERIWINKLE with the corresponding Virtue being PURITY OF INTENTION. It has been said the best intentions often go awry. One reason they do is because they may not be based on God's will. Through purity of intention, it is based on doing the Divine Will in all things. The Periwinkle represents the Virtue of Purity of Intention

Today on the twentieth day of May the flower offered to Our Lady for Queen of the May is the popular GERANIUM with the corresponding Virtue being ZEAL FOR SOULS. Consider that the colorful Geraniums number over 100 million plants grown and sold throughout the world every year. Each colorful, hardy perennial plant, while often different in color and even design, still belongs to the Geranium family. Now consider that in souls - 100 million souls a year being converted! Talk about Zeal for Souls! The Geranium represents the Virtue of a Zeal for Souls
    Faithful to Tradition
With the Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries completed, John Gregory begins the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary corresponding with this time of Paschaltide. For the First Glorious Mystery, the best meditation to inspire on the Resurrection of Our Lord and what followed up to His Ascension can be gleaned from Sacred Scripture and the holy Gospels of the Four Evangelists. What is remarkable is how the four accounts so readily strengthen each other. John takes the Gospels from the Resurrection and the aftermath of Christ's activity and we can see all He imparted capsulized in His messages, "Blessed are they who have not seen and believe," "Feed My sheep," and "Follow Me" as well as His charge to go out into the world and convert, not compromise, every creature. Those who believe and are baptized into the Church He founded and are obedient to all He taught and handed down, will be saved, those who think they have a better idea are in for a big surprise and it won't be Heaven. John chronicles the time from tomb to the eve of the Ascension with The Resurrection

Today, the nineteenth day of Mary's Month of May, the flower offered is the HAWTHORN which represent the Virtue of MORTIFICATION. This is appropriate for mortification takes being able to withstand pain and pleasure. The red-fruited Hawthorn consisting of dense corymbs of pink-red flowers has stems and leaves which are densely covered with short wooly hairs and must bear up under cold and windy conditions. So also mortification helps to toughen us in the face of temptation and the life of ease, allowing grace to blossom forth. The Hawthorn represents the Virtue of Mortification

Today, the eighteenth day of Mary's Month of May, the flower offered is a bouquet of LAVENDERS which represent the Virtue of MODESTY. This is appropriate for modesty is the cornerstone of chastity and purity. Nothing makes Our Lady happier than a pure heart and a pure heart begins with being pure in the flesh. Like the Lavender, our souls are delicate and to be immodest in any way or not to practice custody of the eyes puts that delicateness in jeopardy. The Lavender represents the Virtue of Modesty
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica illustrates what code The Da Vinci Code has really broken and that is the code of decency, for the blasphemy that spews from this cinematic sewage must be identified for the rot it is to protect the clueless lukewarm idiots who will flock to the complexes to see this vile blasphemy because everyone else is going. Oh, what blind sheep. Gabriel warns not to expect any protection or guidance from the shepherds because they've already sold out. Gabriel points out how with The Da Vinci Code release this Friday, the evil one returns to the scene of the crime, ever tempting with more vile blasphemy and just as he had a gullible Adam and Eve, so also he has a countless covey of vulnerable idiots to once again spin his tale of sin and deceit with the vile, vicious and overtly blasphemous The Da Vinci Code in which he seeks to poison so many more souls who are only too willing to self-destruct. It is the final all-out assault satan has promised and we need to be ready to fight and to stand for Christ. If we don't, then we will have broken our code and vow to Him as Gabriel explains in his column Decline, Da Vinci, and the real Code that has been broken!

It is the little buds that group together in fidelity to the greater good God intended to emit the spring fragrance that is so pleasing to the olfactory senses and to remind us of how we work together through grace to effect more conversions. The Lilac represents the Virtue of Fidelity in Little Things

On this sixteenth day of May the flower is the LILY OF THE VALLEY with the corresponding Virtue being PUNCTUALITY. The purity of the Lily of the Valley can be equated with the parable of the Five Virgins who were punctual and had their lamps lit when the Master came; whereas the other five foolish virgins were not punctual and because they were not, missed out on eternal bliss. The Lily of the Valley represents the Virtue of Punctuality

On this fifteenth day of May the flower offered to our Lad is the whispy MIMOSA with the corresponding Virtue being GENEROSITY. God loves a generous heart and one who loves God and seeks to do His holy Will at all times cannot help but being generous in all things, illustrated in the stamen of the Mimosa flower, fanning out in ray-like fashion to receive the graces gifted. The Mimosa represents the Virtue of Generosity
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Fourth Sunday after Easter, he reminds all that no one should be surprised that the lies, calumny, apostasy and blasphemy have intensified for the devil will do all in his power to twist the truth - especially the "Word of Truth" which is God Himself. Father documents various passages of Holy Writ that confirm how so many will reject the Word and, in doing so, reject God Himself. That is what those whose curiosity towards such blasphemous trash as The Da Vinci Code are basically doing, scorning God to feed their own prying passions. No man can serve two masters and those who think going to such a movie or reading such a book will not affect them had better have the soothing salve of scripture and a strong, unyielding faith because satan is so devious, so clever. Without complying fully to God's Will, one is totally helpless in the prince of the world's clutches. Only by standing fast to Christ and His true Church in all things, without compromise, can one hope to be worthy to stand in His presence in Heaven. The infrangible tenets of Catholicism have not changed. What was a sin in 33 A.D. is still a sin in 2006. Beware of mixing fashion and fads with faith. They won't wash. Faith only will survive and that is what is under such aggressive attack not only in Brown's insidious novel, but in the promotions of the film so cleverly couched and so obviously anti-Catholic. Father notifies all: don't say you weren't warned! Father explains in his sermon Jesus Christ, Word of Truth

Was it not the Passion of our Lord which was the greatest Sacrifice that resulted in the blossoming of souls through salvation for all who followed Christ's teachings? The Passion Flower represents the Virtue of Sacrifice
    Doctors of the Church
As a "Gems from the Past," we present a brief profile on Saint Robert Bellarmine, an Italian born on the feast of the founder of the Franciscans, but trained as a Jesuit who upheld the ideals of the Society as its founders had established. He was an extremely sharp polemist who was not afraid to take on the most vitrolic Protestant theologians and, because this master apologist never wavered from Catholic truth, he always won out in perpetuating the Counter Reformation of Trent. His fame, humility and sense of the sensus Catholicus won back countless souls who had wavered during the Reformation. But his wisdom was not employed only on the sheep, but the shepherds as well - the chief shepherds - for he was Theologian and Spiritual Counselor to no less than five Popes. He was the noted Theologian to the Roman Pontiffs.

What a perfect day for this for it was duty to the Church and Christ's Vicar on earth that prompted St. Robert Bellarmine to become a Jesuit priest and then to utilize all his God-given talents for the greater honor and glory of God and His Holy Church. Likewise, Our Lady appeared near the Cova and a copse of trees where Laurel blossoms might be found and her message was to remind her children of our duty to pray and to obey her Divine Son. The Laurel represents the Virtue of the Love of Duty
Today is the twelfth flower offered for Our Lady's bouquet and it is the tube-like HEATH-FLOWER with the corresponding Virtue being RECOLLECTION. The Heath-Flower comes from the Greek genus Epacris - meaning "upon the hill" where it grows. Just as the Heath-flower hangs down like a religious' habit, so to speak, - such as a monk in a monastery - to remind one to put on the garments of God in humility and recollect, so also practicing the Virtue of Recollection prompts one to look within the soul and seek in all humilty to think of spiritual rather than temporal things. The Heath-flower represents the Virtue of quiet Recollection
    QUEEN OF THE MAY

Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. Today the flower is the beautiful PINK ROSE with the corresponding Virtue being PRAYER. How appropriate that outside of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the most efficacious prayer is Mary's Holy Rosary. The pink rose so magnificently expresses Our Lady's true femininity and divine motherhood. The Pink Rose represents the Virtue of Prayer
    QUEEN OF THE MAY

It is a prayer said for each day of May. Along with this prayer there is another tradition that can be found in Fr. F.X. Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. Today is the tenth day of May and SWEETNESS is the designated Virtue with the corresponding flower for Mary's bouquet being the delicate JASMINE which was so significant to the mission of Saint Antoninus, the holy bishop and confessor whom we celebrate today. The Jasmine represents the Virtue of Sweetness
    Doctors of the Church
Today's Doctor of the Church Saint Gregory Nazianzen, the fifth in a chronological list of the holy scholars of the Church, was another from the 4th century who also faced the intense persecutions and calumnies of the Arian bishops. Son of two saints - Saint Gregory Nazianzen the Elder and Saint Nonna - and the sibling of two others - Saint Caesarius and Saint Gorgonna - this Doctor of the Church teamed with another Doctor of the Church - Saint Basil - to uphold true teaching. He is considered the Church's Theologian. This Cappadocian bishop also nurtured a young protege who would turn out pretty well himself, one Saint Jerome. St. Gregory is often called the Administrator of Theology

Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. For today, the ninth day of May, the flower is the majestic MIGNONETTE with the corresponding Virtue being the PRACTICE OF HIDDEN VIRTUES. Appropriately it is the Feast Day of Saint Gregory Nazianzen, the holy Bishop and Doctor of the Church who was a vaunted defender of the Faith against the Arian heresy and practiced the Hidden Virtues in winning souls to the True Faith while traversing the rocky regions of Constantinople near the Mediterranean where the Mignonette blooms forth abundantly with its spikelike clusters of greenish or yellowish white flowers. Thus The Mignonet represents the Practice of Hidden Virtues

Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. Today is the eighth day of May and the Double Major Feast of the Apparition of Saint Michael the Archangel. The virtue is FAITH and the greatest warrior in Heaven for defending the Faith is the noble winged general. The flower symbolized today is the IRIS which blooms in the Spring and we must spring forward with faith to uphold and spread the True Faith, being irises who bloom where they are planted. The Iris focuses on the Virtue of Faith
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Third Sunday after Easter, he takes the opportunity to note on this first Sunday in Mary's month of May how much Our Lady cherishes processions - from her Queen of the May processions to especially those processions where the Most Blessed Sacrament is carried in reverent fashion just as the Ark of the Covenant was carried in procession in the times of the Old Testament. Father shows how the Blessed Virgin Mary was well versed in Scripture and Jewish Law and had a deep reverence for the holy Ark of the Covenant. So also today she encourages her children to have the deepest respect and adoration for her divine Son present Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the monstrance carried aloft in procession. No wonder Catholics have such a love for Our Lady for they extend their love and awe just as the Israelites properly did before they veered and were scattered. We'd be wise to learn from bible history and remain in God's good graces; never taking the Blessed Sacrament for granted or reducing it to a mere cookie which anyone can touch in their hands. It's all about reverence and respect because God demands it and Our Lady is the ideal to emulate. Woe to those who dare diminish her role or mock her or her divine Son as society does today. They, too, will be scattered and exiled. Father explains in his sermon Why Our Lady Loves Processions

Today, the seventh day of May is not only the Third Sunday after Easter, but also the Feast of Saint Stanislaus Kostka, Bishop and Martyr. The virtue is ATTACHMENT TO GOD and is represented by the BINDWEED which is truly not a weed, but a flower that is stately just as St. Stanislaus remained attached to God despite the pressure of his fellow Poles and even the King. He had only one King: Christ the King, ever remaining the loyal subject and attached always to God. The Bindweed binds us to the virtue of Attachment to God
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica illustrates how the devil is in panic mode as is obvious with the rotten and poisonous fruit of the vile play "Mary, Like a Virgin", playing during Our Lady's Month in the Big Apple at Dillon's Lounge Off-Broadway where the crowds gather to see filth and blasphemy as the path to hell grows wider by the day. In this Month of Mary, those who have sold their souls seek to mock the Most Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary by participating in by their attendance or lack of protest a scurrilous, flippant, sacrilegious play which portrays Our Lady as a modernist woman, played by a perverted drag-queen no less. Nothing like making God madder! Over 500 Traditional Catholics have stood against this blasphemous play while the rest of the world blithely laughs it off in their lukewarm state of infernal ennui and blindness. As Gabriel points out, it is just more evidence of society's complicity with the devil in staging another vile depiction that shows so clearly just how agitated and base the devil is in mocking the Woman, the very Immaculate one who will crush his head. Gabriel explains in his column Blasphemous Filth Proves Satan is Desperate!

Today, the sixth day of Mary's Month of May, the feast of Saint John Before the Latin Gate, the flower offered is a bouquet of VIOLETS which represent the Virtue of HUMILITY, something so lacking in so many of us and so necessary for sanctity. The beloved disciple John possessed this virtue throughout his life and in his inspired words of Sacred Scripture. It was this humility which preserved him from the boiling oil and afforded him, through the Mercy of God, to be exiled to the Isle of Patmos where he received the final account of the final days in the Book of the Apocalypse. The Violet represents the Virtue of Humility
    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain presents a daily VerbumQUO in Latin in hopes that, in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology, more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO for today on the Feast of the holy and worthy Pope Saint Pius V is "ædificábo" which is "I will build" for the Latin future first conjugation singular of ædificáre. This verb fits perfectly with Pope St. Pius V for he, of all Popes, built what Christ had established 1533 years earlier by codifying the infallible dogmatic decrees of the Council of Trent and set in stone "in perpetuity" the continual Sacrifice with the Latin Mass, often called Tridentine Mass from the time of Trent, but known universally today as the Traditional Latin Mass with his infallible Papal Bull Quo Primum, assuring the bread and wine would be properly confected through his decree De defectibus Cain explains in The True Reason for celebrating Cinco de Mayo
    QUEEN OF THE MAY

Today, the fifth day of Mary's Month of May, the feast of the holy Sovereign Pontiff Pope Saint Pius V, the flower contributed to the bouquet offering for the Blessed Mother is the MARGUERITE, which represents SIMPLICITY; so perfect for this holy saintly Shepherd who, through his infallible decree Quo Primum, sought to make worship so simple with the infrangible Mass of all Ages - the Apostolic Latin Holy Sacrifice of the Mass set in stone by the dogmatic Council of Trent and codified by this holy Pope for all posterity. How simple can it be? This is the way it is as St. Pius laid out in following the infallible tenets of Trent, and all one needs do is follow those rules and rubrics. Simple! Few Vicars of Christ had a deeper appreciation of Our Lady than Pius V. The Marguerite makes it all so simple
    Making Sense of sensus Catholicus
Father James F. Wathen presents a reflection this week on how Christ provided in His words recorded in the Gospel of Saint John 14, what one might call, a crash-course for His Apostles in refreshing them on His divinity and how He would be with them always before He would leave them and ascend into Heaven and then send His Spirit - the Holy Ghost - on Pentecost. Our Lord sought to remind His Apostles on the key points He had taught to them and His followers during that time of His public ministry before most had abandoned Him at the time of his trial and crucifixion except for John himself, His Blessed Mother and Mary Magdalene. Now those who had fled from the cross believe, but will they believe by faith or feeling. If by faith, then what they impart to others will have great fruits; if by feeling, they will flee at the slightest hint of persecution. Christ prepared well these men of faith. Father, who celebrated yesterday his 48th anniversary as a validly ordained priest, presents his insight and reflections in Christ refreshes the Apostles
    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain presents a daily VerbumQUO in Latin in hopes that, in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology, more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is "desoláta" which is the Latin adjective for "desolate", a state that St. Monica found herself in since she herself was helpless to help her stubborn son. Thus, in such a state, she turned to God, persevering through constant prayer for the son she had brought into this world. So great was her love that all she asked was his salvation. Through her steady perseverance Saint Augustine went on to become not just a convert, but the staunch stalwart of the Faith, the great Bishop and Doctor of the Church, effecting countless conversions that were planted by the humble seeds of holy desolation in his mother who trusted in God's love and mercy. Cain explains in The Fruits of Perseverance

Today, the fourth day of Mary's Month of May, the feast of Saint Monica, that offered is the delicate bouquet of colorful PANSIES which represent the virtue of THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN. Few exemplified this virtue better than Saint Monica The pansies of persistence paid off as we know and Monica lived to see her son become a religious. All she had prayed for came true. So also with us if we offer Our Lady our pansies of heavenly thoughts, she will intercede before her divine Son and answer our prayers. The Pansy represents the Virtue of Thoughts of Heaven
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica examines the sure words of reliable, holy Sovereign Pontiffs who encouraged Catholics to stand up against error, to speak out, to uphold the tenets of the True Faith no matter the odds. Today, we can see the vast majority have failed to heed what St. Pius V said that "ALL the evils of the world are due to lukewarm Catholics." Powerful and so true because had the Church been vigilant, the reforms of Vatican II would never have seen the light of day and today the vast majority, because of their lukewarmness, are wallowing in the muck of the New Order which also gave license to the revolution of the sixties, the corruption of morals and values throughout the past 40 years, and the terrorism of body and soul today. Unfortunately, the echo of ennui and disinterest reverberates through souls - an eerie siren of the lukewarm of which the Lord has promised in Apocalpyse 3: 16, that He would vomit from His mouth. Thus, faithful Catholics today, in compliance with the holy Popes of the past, have the unenviable but necessary task today of Disposing of Lukewarm Sewage
    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain presents a daily VerbumQUO in Latin in hopes that, in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology, more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is Crucis, which is the Latin for "of the Cross", the singular possessive of the genitive and taken from today's Introit, Collect, Epistle, Secret and Communion for today's Proper of the Mass for the Finding of the True Cross Nos autem. The Holy Cross is the focal point of our lives for which we venerate and carry with us daily. As Christ showed that there can be no Resurrection without the Cross, there can be no Victory without the Cross for us. We must be willing to take up our cross and follow Him daily. Only then can we be assured of sharing in the triumph. Cain explains in By this Sign we will Conquer

Today, the third day of Mary's Month of May, a MYOSOTIS is presented to represent GIVING THANKS. The Greek word for thanksgiving is eucharistia from which we get the Latin eucharistus from which derives the English "Eucharist" and it is through the Holy Eucharist confected in the Canon of the True Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - the Traditional Latin Mass - where we receive Jesus, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. Nothing can be greater and should prompt an abundance of thanksgiving prayers following our reception of Holy Communion, which, when received worthily, builds up an abundance of graces within our souls, united with Christ and the countless angels adoring Him with us at every valid Mass. Nothing pleases Our Lady more for The Myosotis represents the Virtue of Giving Thanks
    The STRAIGHT STUFF
Griff Ruby returns with an interesting likelihood that God could effect for after all, "with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Many have said the only solution to the current crisis in the Church today is divine intervention. What if God chose to send His Holiness Pope Pius XII back to earth to find out for himself the truth of Saint Paul's words in Galatians 1: 8-10 and how the Church he left had been eclipsed? Griff presents just such a scenario and how even he was lied to. Just as Christ says in today's Gospel "If they have called the good man of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?" so also any Traditional Catholic - whether he be the least or Pope Pius XII - will be considered an enemy of God's enemies. Griff gives us food for thought in his piece The Resurrection of Pope Pius XII
    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain presents a daily VerbumQUO in Latin in hopes that, in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology, more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is persecutiónem, which is the Latin for "persecution", taken from today's Epistle, and a perfect reminder of what today's saint whose feast we celebrate - Saint Athanasius - underwent to keep the Faith when seemingly all others had abandoned it for Arianism. So also today Traditional Catholics are persecuted in so many ways, deprived of the venues to practice their faith, they are forced into the "catacombs" to preserve the True Faith. In Athanasius they can take solace for he was the The Godfather of Dry Martyrs
    QUEEN OF THE MAY

Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. Today, the second day of Mary's Month of May, a ROSE is presented to represent LOVE OF GOD. No one loves God more than His Blessed Mother Mary who humbly became the Living Tabernacle of the Holy of Holies. Mary is associated with the rose because it is one of the most beautiful flowers of all and her special prayer - the Rosary - is a bouquet of spiritual roses that we can offer her each day for her to take to the Holy Trinity in intercession for us as her Heavenly Mother who loves us so much. The Rose represents the Love of God

When it comes to all these ungodly laws being passed by liberal judges because of the lobbying and intimidation of a small minority out to do away with the natural and supernatural order, it is wise to keep in mind the following:

"Unjust laws are, properly speaking, NO LAWS!"
His Eminence Saint Robert Cardinal Bellarmine, Doctor of the Church
