St. John Leonardi
Comforted with the holy Mysteries of Thy precious Body and Blood, we beseech Thee, O Lord, that by the example of Saint John, Thy Confessor, we may be zealous to confess what he believed and to put in practice what he taught. Who liveth and reigneth with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

FEATURED IN TODAY'S ISSUE:
Pro Life Prescriptions In this column today, Dr. Frank Joseph gets down to brass tacks in entreating Catholics to not be afraid to shake the thunders under their pastors, bishops and fellow Catholics when it comes to expressing who to vote for. Dr. Frank illustrates clearly that it's not the Democratic candidates who, with the exception of a few in remote areas, all embrace the Democratic platform of the culture of death. He points out that we can no longer sit back and do nothing or pass it off as 'only one issue among many.' He questions both the sanity and intelligence of those who still vote Democratic. Yesterday it might have been the party of our grandparents, but today it is, without a doubt, the party of satan. Not only the future of countless preborn children depend on stopping pro-abort votes, but your very souls as well as he expresses clearly in his column Do Catholics enjoy Democrats bashing their Faith, or are they just plain stupid?
Traditional Thoughts
Through the good graces of Michael Matt, editor of The Remnant we are able to bring you a most timely article by Christopher Ferrara wherein he defines what a "neo-Catholic" is and he points out that these neo-Catholics are tolerant towards any and all liberalism, but totally intolerant towards those who uphold the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church as taught perennially up until Vatican II. He illustrates how bad it is when he says, " A Democrat of the 1950s would view today’s “conservative” Republican as a liberal savage. In like manner, today’s “neo-conservative Catholics” are progressives who embrace novelties that Saint Pius X could not have imagined in his worst nightmare. Not only do they embrace these novelties, they attack the paleoconservative traditionalists as “schismatics” for declining to follow suit." The neo-Catholics may not like that terminology, but they're stuck with it as long as they have their heads stuck in the sands of ignorance of the True Faith as Chris relates in
The Justice of the Term Neo-Catholic.
SIMPLY SHEEN: Treasures from Bishop Sheen
The late, great Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen makes it so simple that we have dubbed this series: "SIMPLY SHEEN". In today's issue, he illustrates the difference between black and white morals. Today the demarcation line has been badly blurred and we overlook the little things that add up in God's eyes. Yet we're overcome by the constant conflict between good and bad. Little by little it can take its toll and form bad habits that can lead one into perdition. Conversely every little sacrifice, penance, prayer adds up as well and through grace translates into large dividends in Heaven. He explains in It's the little things that count.
Liturgy of the Saints Today is the Double Feast of Saint John Leonardi, a priest who crusaded tirelessly for the reforms of the Council of Trent during the Counter-Reformation in the Church, and the feast of the martyred bishop Saint Dionysius the Aeropagite who was converted by St. Paul himself. He is also known as Saint Denis, and, along with brothers and other companions were martyred for their Faith during the persecution of Roman Emperior Domitian. For more, see Saint John Leonardi.

The Rosary of Mary: our most powerful weapon. October is Our Lady's month, the month of the Holy Rosary. It is also the month we remember her victory for all of Christendom at Lepanto and the 85th Anniversary of the final apparition at Fatima, the day the sun danced. Truly October is Our Lady's time, the month of the Holy Rosary. Pray for the unborn and that abortion will not be compromised by the political expediency of the times where misguided prelates mistakenly join the Death Penalty with the Abortion issue. The Catholic Church condemns abortion, not capital punishment. Pray that the flocks will not be further deceived. Click on the Rosary button to recite the full Rosary in either English or Latin.
