FEATURED IN TODAY'S ISSUE:
Echoes of True Catholicism In honor of tomorrow's Traditional Feast of the Divine Maternity of Our Lady, Dr. Marian Therese Horvat brings the reader an inspiring story of Our Lady of Goodness manifested in the miraculous painting "Mother Most Admirable" - Mater Admirabilis in Rome at the top of the famous Spanish Steps. Marian relates the story of the ensuing miracles after Blessed Pio Nono "uncovered" the painting on a papal visit to the Daughters of the Sacred Heart convent. She reveals another miracle, one that happened to her that is most touching as well as encouragement for all suffering through the great crisis in the Church today. Marian conveys how Our Lady of Goodness can give great hope to all as she relates in her column, A Goodness that has no limit: Mater Admirabilis
Appreciating the Precious Gift of our Faith
In this issue we continue with our catechesis series from My Catholic Faith focusing still on indulgences, this time defining the various singular indulgences from certain prayers and sacramental objects as set down in the Raccolta. This issue we will also delineate between what and who we can gain indulgences for and who we cannot, such as another living person. It is explained in Indulgenced Prayers and Objects.
Pro Life Prescriptions Because of the importance of the upcoming election, we are carrying over Dr. Frank Joseph column wherein he gets down to brass tacks in entreating Catholics to not be afraid to shake the thunders under their pastors, bishops and fellow Catholics when it comes to expressing who to vote for. Dr. Frank illustrates clearly that it's not the Democratic candidates who, with the exception of a few in remote areas, all embrace the Democratic platform of the culture of death. He points out that we can no longer sit back and do nothing or pass it off as 'only one issue among many.' He questions both the sanity and intelligence of those who still vote Democratic. Yesterday it might have been the party of our grandparents, but today it is, without a doubt, the party of satan. Not only the future of countless preborn children depend on stopping pro-abort votes, but your very souls as well as he expresses clearly in his column Do Catholics enjoy Democrats bashing their Faith, or are they just plain stupid?
Guest Column Today, in a follow-up to Dr. Frank's column above which we are keeping available throughout the week, we bring you below an ad being circulated by William A. Donohue, President of the Catholic League in trying to convince the Democratic National Committee of their anti-Catholic stance in supporting the apostate 'Catholics for a Free Choice' organization headed by Frances Kissling. Join the campaign to curb the Democratic Party from spreading the Culture of Death further. You can do that by voting out the pro-aborts, and by e-mailing the DNC below. For more on this, we invite you to see Donohue's commentary The Real Agenda of Catholics for a Free Choice
IS THE
DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE
ANTI-CATHOLIC?
On the website of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), there is a link to organizations of interest. Astonishingly, under the “Catholic” banner is a notoriously anti-Catholic organization, Catholics for a Free Choice (CFFC). The head of this group, Frances Kissling, has said it is her goal to “overthrow” the Catholic Church. Moreover, she has sought to silence the voice of the Vatican in the U.N. and has twice been denounced by the bishops as a fraud.
We have asked the DNC to stop its association with CFFC but it refuses. That is why we are asking you to join our campaign. Let the DNC know of your outrage by calling them at 202-863-8000; fax at 202-863-8174; email at dnc@democrats.org.
Liturgy of the Saints Today is the Semi-Double Feast of Saint Francis Borgia, a priest who preached in Spain and Portugal in the 16th century, attracting huge crowds wherever he spoke in upholding the Truths and Traditions in the face of the Protestant Reformation. A leading crusader in the Counter-Reformation, he was appointed by St. Ignatius Loyola as Superior General of the Jesuits in Spain and reformed the Order's rules there. Many consider him the "second founder" of the Society of Jesus. A great proponent of the reforms of Trent, he did not join the Jesuits until he was 38. A widower, St. Francis turned over his fortunes to his son Charles and gave all his talent and time to God. For more, see Saint Francis Borgia.

The Rosary of Mary: our most powerful weapon. October is Our Lady's month, the month of the Holy Rosary. It is also the month we remember her victory for all of Christendom at Lepanto and the 85th Anniversary of the final apparition at Fatima, the day the sun danced. Truly October is Our Lady's time, the month of the Holy Rosary. Pray for the unborn and that abortion will not be compromised by the political expediency of the times where misguided prelates mistakenly join the Death Penalty with the Abortion issue. The Catholic Church condemns abortion, not capital punishment. Pray that the flocks will not be further deceived. Click on the Rosary button to recite the full Rosary in either English or Latin.
