Not so fast, Mr. Gore! And please, Mr. Bush, if it is dragged into court, do what Bishop Sheen said would be best for "the principles of politics and the rebirth of a nation" and bow to a fellow Republican who would carry on all you've promised. Through the Pope, God has put the right man at the helm of the faithful in D.C. Now we need the right man in the White House. If Florida continues to flounder, the man who would be really right for America might just surprise many!

Because of the numerous e-mails received in support of our editorial last week and the fact that many we're denied the opportunity to read it because of a network glitch between Network Solutions and our IP's secondary server, we are repeating last week's commentary with an update.
We could wax nostalgic for that staple quiz show with Garry Moore back in the 50's and early 60's called "To Tell The Truth!" in which three people were questioned and the panel had to come up with who was telling the truth regarding who they were or their occupation. Today truth is as difficult to uncover as finding old reels of this black and white television program. In this "neverending story" of vote counts, both sides have let the people down with the legal wrangling that has greatly besmirched the constitutional principles of our elective process. While Al Gore has truly exposed his underbelly of deceit and doublespeak, the mainstream media - the false prophets have done all they can to denigrate George W. Bush to the point that if he wins out, he could be polarized. Bishop Fulton J. Sheen wrote, "Some day a politician will arise who will be so devoted to the truth that he will follow it, knowing that by doing so he will go down to defeat. That day will be the restoration of politics as principles, it will also be the rebirth of a nation." His excellency wrote those prophetic words nearly fifty years ago. Could Mr. Bush be that man?
What if no one is a clear-cut winner, what if fraud is proven in the voting, what if the stalemate is so bad that violence could break out. Would Mr. Bush sacrifice his own political career for the rebirth of a nation? We know Mr. Gore wouldn't. It's very possible with all the accusations going on from both sides including missing and disputed military overseas absentee votes. Then what? For pro-lifers it could be just what God ordered for Bush would be the winner by agreeing to step aside in favor of the next man in line to be the Chief Executive of the White House: Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, a strong faithfilled man who is even more pro-life than Mr. Bush. He would not only fulfill all that Bush has promised, but would be more able to carry out a culture of life agenda because he could unite both parties, not having been besmirched or polarized by this mess that exists in the post-election crisis. If it comes to that, pray that an honorable politician, who Bishop Sheen foretells, would come forward for the good of the country for the will of God for His people. For our commentary, Prayer! It's our only weapon! Let's use it!
