The fabric of our soul is woven by the thread of our fiat to God's Will    In her column this week, Sister Mary Lucy Astuto reflects on discernment of God's Will in this hectic, fast-paced world where impatience has supplanted the old-fashioned ethics of skilled labor and doing the little things in extraordinary ways. Everyone wants to see results, but are they willing to stop, think and pray? If not, their garments of grace will disintegrate in the mill of malaise. However, like the house built on the rock, if we are meticulous in our preparations and heed what God is asking through the teachings of the Church, Sacred Scripture and our daily responsibilities, then slowly but surely we will weave a strong garment that will withstand all the elements the world, the flesh and the devil will launch. The needle of persistence and patience will string together piece by piece tremendous graces and merits not only for ourselves, but for the many souls in Purgatory. Appreciation of the Works of Mercy

Today we continue our series in the search to uncover the wonderful treasures of the Church contained in the great Deposit of Faith. We present the second of a two part catechesis on the Works of Mercy as explained in My Catholic Faith and a reinforcement of what Jesus asks us to do in living the Gospel by emulating Him and fulfilling the two great commandments through the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.
