Though many do not realize it, God's hand is very much evident in this long, drawn-out election contest that has been going on for over a month. The deadline dates coordinate with Our Lady's Feasts and, in that, we can express great hope for a favorable outcome that will permit His Ordaining Will for this nation consecrated to His Immaculate Mother

Bush - 43rd President?     In our editorial this week, we bring to light a few who have been instrumental in serving as "Apostles for Life." We also point out the amazing Godincidences inherent in dates and circumstances that are surrounding this ungodly drawn-out election contest that has disintegrated into not only a cutthroat legal scene where accusations are tossed around left and right, but also a time full of media hyperbole and sacrilege, especially in saying that Al Gore's chances are akin to "throwing the Hail Mary pass!" Sorry, but that offends Catholics greatly for this beautiful prayer based on Luke 1: 28-42 is not about desperation but a declaration of the Blessed Virgin Mary's Immaculate Conception which we celebrate universally on this December 8th. The Holy Rosary, the most powerful weapon we have, is a prayer asking for Our Lady's intercession and one she bestowed on her children through Saint Dominic. It is this powerful weapon that will win out and enable George W. Bush to replant the agenda for the culture of life as the 43rd President of the United States. The first George to be president - George Washington was known for his honesty and it is doubtful, other than Abraham Lincoln, that such virtue has visited the White House since. We hope and pray that Mr. Bush will reapply ethics and conscience back into the highest office of the land. To aid his efforts, millions and millions of Rosaries are being said as you read this in prayerful hope that this uniter from Texas will begin to bring America back to God and His Laws.     On December 8th, the glorious Solemnity of the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY we complete the Nine Day Novena in preparation for this glorious feast as well as bring you Sister Mary Lucy Astuto's column in which she shares the vital importance of preparing properly for the Christ Child by cleansing our souls through the cleansing of the confessional. Though Mary was conceived Immaculate, no one else was and, therefore, her Divine Son gave us the Sacrament of Reconciliation to purify ourselves from sin by Sanctifying Grace.

We point out the heart of the family lies with the mother a heart that is literally a coronary corridor to Heaven.

    On December 10th, the Second Sunday of Advent, we bring you Pope John Paul II's most recent address from his regular Wednesday General Papal Audience in which he told 30,000 huddled in a brisk St. Peter's Square that for the faithful, "the Kingdom is Grace." His Holiness expressed that "the Kingdom is the effective but mysterious action that God carries out in the universe and in the tangle of human events." He also emphasized, "With the Gospel of the Kingdom, Christ links Himself to the sacred Scriptures, which, through the royal image, celebrate the lordship of God over the cosmos and history.

    On December 11th we bring you Pat Ludwa's thought-provoking column "VIEW FROM THE PEW" in which he emphasizes that throughout history all gods and goddesses have failed to prove their ultimate divinity. Only One can make that claim and He did so in the humblest of acts - being born in a manger and dying ignominously on the Cross, then trumping all other deities by conquering death with His Resurrection and providing us with life everlasting.
