Pentecost is the Birthday of holy Mother Church. While Christ's charge to Peter in St. Matthew 16: 18-19 could be considered the conception of the Church, the actual birth of the Church is Pentecost Sunday, also known as Whitsunday when, as Our Lord promised, He would send His Spirit - the Holy Ghost to guide and guard the truths and traditions established by Jesus and entrusted to men who would trust in the Advocate and Sanctifier, aka the Third Person of the Holy Trinity. Those first to receive it were the Apostles who were transformed by the Sanctifier. Our Lady, immaculately conceived knew as she awaited the appearance of her Divine Spouse. Formerly cowering in fear, the twelve went out fearless and, well, as you know, the rest is history. We now transfer back to saying The Angelus which replaces the Paschaltide Regina Coeli as the Alleluias are set aside and we settle in for a week of red in vestments and Ember Week.

The saints celebrated this week are all superseded by the liturgies of Pentecost week so there is merely commemorations for the likes of holy men such as St. John Baptist de la Salle on Sunday, St. Ubaldus on Monday, St. Pascal Baylon on Tuesday, the holy martyr St. Venantius on Ember Wednesday, Pope St. Peter Celestine on Thursday, St. Bernardine of Siena on Ember Friday, and St. Hospitius on Ember Saturday. Click on their images above at Pentecost Propers for these saints' commemorations.

We continue each day in May to offer a salutary ejaculation of Mary's distinctive titles from the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary as we also offer a different daily flower that corresponds to a respective virtue in amassing a beautiful spiritual floral bouquet to be presented to Our Lady on her feast of the Queenship of Mary on May 31. In addition, this week covers Days Eighteen through Twenty-Four in the 33-Day Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary that will be made on the feast of Our Lady's Coronation. We also remind you to take advantage of the beautiful daily prayer of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary during this month. Also, on Pentecost Monday you can begin to pray the Nine-Day Novena for the feast of Our Lady Help of Christians next week on Tuesday, May 24.

And speaking of Novenas, on Ember Wednesday we begin the Nine-Day Novena in preparation for the First Class Feast of Corpus Christi in which we celebrate the confection of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ truly present only via the true Traditional Latin Mass which remains as the infallible, dogmatic Council of Trent decreed and Pope St. Pius V set in stone that must be said in perpetuity. His Holiness decreed in His Papal Bull Quo Primum that if anyone dared to alter the Mass he "will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul." ("Si quis autem hoc attentare praesumpserit, indignationem omnipotentis Dei, ac beatorum Petri et Pauli Apostolorum ejus se noverit incursurm.") Just from this infallible statement we know the new 'mass' created by Paul 6 cannot be true, but a counterfeit that all should flee from...which you'll be convinced that we're right when you...

A lot has been said about the heretical 'Apostolic' declaration Amoris Laetitia, but the best summary is provided at TRADCAST from Novus Ordo Watch. We strongly urge you to forego some TV tonight and devote a few hours to listen to the facts that leave no doubt. Hearing this and knowing Marxist Mr. Jorge Bergoglio's track record we shouldn't be surprised that the world is thrilled, while many Catholics are shocked. Traditional Catholics are not shocked because we saw it coming. For all of this the best source for what is happening in separating the lambs on the right from the goats on the left is Novus Ordo Watch which provides links to several sources on reactions to "Joy of Love." The same site has also released a thorough audio on unFrancis' folly on TRADCAST In addition, we also confidently recommend trusted ports like Christorchaos.com for articles and links, as well as four blogs worth your while, Introibo Ad Altare Dei, Fr. Cekada's Quidlibet, Bishop Donald Sanborn's In Veritate, and the satirical, but on-point Call Me Jorge. They all weigh in on the consequences of the dastardly document Amoris laetitia in which the so-called "Joy of love" can very well turn into Morte animarum - "Death of souls" because of the blatant contradiction of Catholic truth so reminiscent of Vatican 2 documents. So stay tuned to our DailyCatholic Twitter Feed for the latest as well as the editor's SANCTUS facebook page

How many lambs will be placed on the Lord's right? With the relaxation and total negligence of many Catholic disciplines today, that number might be smaller than you might think because the vast majority of the sheep are so lost because the so-called shepherds of the modern church, while masquerading as priests and prelates, are truly wolves who have ravaged souls for the past fifty years or so. Other than traditional priests and bishops ordained in the true Sacrament of Holy Orders, all those "ordained" or "consecrated" since 1968 with the man-made rite of Giovanni Montini have no more authority or power than a protestant minister, who, as Pope Leo XIII perfectly put it, "are completely null and utterly void." The fact is not since His Holiness Pope Pius XII have we had a true shepherd sitting in the Chair of Peter. That has greatly contributed to the chaos the world faces today because since the early part of the Conclave of 1958, when the Holy Ghost withdrew His protection because a false church was determined to eclipse the true Church. How long that will last is anybody's guess, but the more we see, the further away the counterfeit CONciLIAR church is out-protestanting the Protestants, and even the heathens! You see, through the Vatican 2 secular humanism man has replaced God!

I know it's a shock to most to realize they're barking up the wrong tree, the one without the true barque of Peter. It was to us when we connected all the dots and finally came to the conclusion that the only syllogism possible to verify Christ's words was that the true Church remains in an interminable interregnum, chiefly because a heretic cannot be a pope, not to mention how those men occupying the Chair since the death of His Holiness of happy memory Pope Pius XII's death on October 9, 1958. The links we provide above to other ports verifies this fact.

All we ask is that you pray for the grace to see the veracity of what is presented. It can be a tremendous task to leave the comfort zone of a religion that has relaxed so much, but isn't it worth it for your salvation? That was the decision we came to after realizing how much we were duped - yes, we're not alone - for as Jesus said in St. Matthew 24: 24-25: "insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. Behold I have told it to you, beforehand." We've been warned, and yet so many refuse to connect the dots. It behooves you to do so and do so soon. < To affirm this and assist you in this truth, we present a thorough talk by His Excellency Bishop Donald Sanborn, Rector of Most Holy Trinity Seminary, first published last week on Novus Ordo Watch. We encourage you to set aside an hour and a half to truly help your soul and clarify what is really happening by listening to his magnificent and eye-opening complete overview of the Great Apostasy in: The Novus Ordo Church, Vatican II, and Sedevacantism. It's a good idea to listen to the Questions and Answers after his talk that provides rock-solid reasons why Sedevacantists have been right all along and we pray more will receive the grace to see why and flee the Novus Ordo.

To offset this apostasy, we remind you of your opportunity to pray each evening with others by calling into moderator Tom Gillbrough for Rosary Conference Call at 10 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 9 p.m. Central, 8 p.m. Mountain, and 7 p.m. in the Pacific Daylight time zone. You are encouraged to call in ten minutes before the hour so that the Rosary can start on time with no latecomers to upset the reverence and continuity of the Blessed Virgin Mary's holy Psalter. For those who want to stay on after the five decades, they may join in praying the other two sets of mysteries not covered for that day. Monday and Thursday are the Joyful mysteries, Tuesday and Friday are the Sorrowful mysteries, and Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday are the Glorious mysteries. Traditional Catholics never acknowledge the heretical luminous mysteries. Why? Because Heaven bestowed the holy Rosary to St. Dominic to fight the heresy of Albigensianism in 1214. Mary stipulated that the three sets of mysteries made up Christ's life through her and they represented the 150 Psalms which, when divided by the Trinitarian number 3 equals 50 Aves. Victorious over the Albgensians, it remained the same with miraculous results for nearly 800 years until unsaint JP2 decided he'd add the Masonic luminous mysteries. With that unprecedented move in which man thought he knew better than God, the number jumped to four sets of mysteries equalling 200 Aves. To show how demonic this is, when you divide 200 by the Trinitarian number 3 you get 666! That should tell you all you need to know about Vatican 2 and it's false 'popes'.

Finally, it has to be said. As much as we hate to beg, we have no choice. We remind you of the advice of the holy Doctor of the Church Saint Augustine on almsgiving:
"Generosity will save a person from Eternal Death, it will even blot out any sin.....because Almsgiving is prayer...it brings graces, it cleanses the soul from guilt and punishment.....What good is faith without works, if we desert our fellow man in his need.?"
If you have benefited in anyway from what we have published, we humbly ask your help to keep this publication on line. We know that so many of our readers are unable to assist at a true traditional Latin Mass because of where they live and use the daily liturgy we publish to gain the efficacious graces possible through their prayers at home. We remain the only publication in the world to provide such and are grateful to God that we can provide such nourishment for souls. We urgently ask if you can contribute anything in these tight times, we would be so appreciative for the coffers are truly bare. Think of all the untold millions being thrown into the election process this year.If you've contributed to a campaign, can't you spare a crumb for this apostolate to convert apostates? If you are still in the category of the lukewarm, then you will pass over this plea and move on to the next thing that tickles your fancy. But if you truly want to commit, we offer you the opportunity below to put that commitment into action for the good of saving souls. If you have not donated before, isn't it only right and proper to donate now? Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Just click the button below or send a check/money order to the address below. We are a bonafide non-profit 501c(3) religious association and all donations are tax-deductible. Whatever you would have contributed toward a bloated political campaigns or thrown away in the CONciLIAR collection plates that only goes to covering up the sins of its presbyters and false primates while destroying all semblence of Catholicism, why not earmark it for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic? After all, shouldn't we all take St. Paul's strong counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to heart and "stand firm, and hold the traditions which you have learned"?

Whitsunday or the Solemnity of Pentecost is a Double of the First Class Feast with a Privileged Octave of the First Order and the Station at St. Peter. Our Lord Jesus Christ, being seated on the right hand of the Father, sent, as He had promised, the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles, who, after His Ascension, continued in prayer at Jerusalem, in company with the Blessed Virgin, awaiting the performance of His promise. Let us pray in like manner with the Church: "Come,O Holy Sprit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love." Peter Is the leader around whom gathers the little flock of Sion on this first Christian Pentecost, and he inaugurates today his pontifical primacy when he announces for the first time the Gospel message to the representatives of the various nations, without distinction of race or nationality, of country or State. On this day Christ, risen from the grave and seated at the right hand of the Father, communicates His own divine life to the members of His Mystical Body through the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. So the Church having attained its full development, now first appears before the world. To appreciate the Introit it should be heard with the majestic and joyful melody which the ancient Gregorian music has allotted to it. The Sequence, Veni, Sancte Spiritus, attributed to Innocent III, replaced under St. Pius V an older one of great beauty. This Sequence is repeated daily throughout the Octave. The Holy Ghost descends in power to vindicate the innocence of Jesus by filling the Church with such surpassing sanctity that it becomes, as it were, a fire prefiguring the final judgment on ...More

St. John Baptist de la Salle was canonized by Pope Leo XIII, who also extended the observance of his feast to the Universal Church. His place in ecclesiastical history is chiefly important from the social point of view. since at least two centuries before world changes rendered necessary the education of the masses, and before technical schools had gained for themselves the all-important place in the training of the young which had up till then been held exclusively by classical teaching, God gave him an intuition of this need as though by a prophetic ...More

John Gregory provides the commentary for Pentecost Sunday from Father George Leo Haydock found in many Douay-Rheims version of the New Testament. Christ makes good on His Promise. He has sent His Spirit, the Paraclete, and, Deo gratias, things will never be the same again for His holy Church is officially off and running in fulfilling His command to His disciples to preach the Gospel to all. Peace He has given them to spread not as the world perceives it even today when humanism is trumpeted from the highest echelons of the conciliarists. We must return to what our Lord taught and what His chosen apostles preached without compromise. Peace is only possible when grace flows. Only then can the Sanctifier reach souls. When God withdraws His graces and blessings, corruption and corrosion follow and all man-made institutions will crumble because they are not of divine design. "He will send in My name"

Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph's Minor Seminary in Rathdrum, Idaho at the City of Mary presents an eleven minute sermon recorded three years ago and made available through Traditional Catholic Sermons for the glorious feast of Pentecost and why the Church is one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic as he applies a practical approach to answer Protestant arguments that is actually so simple that just as a net brings in bad fish with the good, there is nothing wrong with the net, just the fish. God does not take away free will and the Catholic Faith is based upon the truths and traditions, not upon human beings as Father explains in his sermon on the spotless Mystical Body of Christ for outside the Church there is darkness. We can overcome it with the light of faith and trust in the Holy Ghost Pentecost and the Four Marks of the Church

Following John Gregory meditation on the Second Glorious Mystery just over a week ago, he returns with inspiration for the Solemnity of the Descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles in a meditation of the Third Glorious Mystery. Fifty days after our Lord Jesus Christ conquered death and ten days after He bodily ascended into Heaven, He made good on His promise to send His Spirit. The Holy Ghost came with a rush of grace and inspiration, transforming the formerly apprehensive Apostles into men of virtuous courage who were now ready to fully take up the command Christ had given them. The charism of the Church was born that day and the Faith spread rapidly with three thousand on the first day. A glorious day it was! John provides reflections on The Third Glorious Mystery: Pentecost

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on the feast of St. John Baptist de la Salle, we honor Mary with the title of Virgin most prudent for that is the theme of the epistle today as we continue during this time within the Octave of the Ascension and strive to say daily Our Lady's Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

For the fifteenth day - the Ides of May - the flower offered to our Blessed Mother is the whispy MIMOSA with the corresponding Virtue being GENEROSITY. God loves a generous heart and one, who loves God and seeks to do His holy Will at all times, cannot help but be generous in all things, illustrated in the stamen of the Mimosa flower, fanning out in ray-like fashion to receive the graces God grants to those who are open to them and practice the cardinal virtues as well as the various virtues illustrated in this, Mary's special month for she is the Queen of the May. It is only natural that everyone would want to be generous to the Queen for that brings great favor from the King, Who is, of course, her divine Son Jesus Christ, to Whom we owe all allegiance, all fidelity, all our love and generosity. Let us pray the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today is the Double of the First Class Feast of Pentecost Monday. The liturgy recalls the Descent of the Holy Ghost on the Apostles; and the Church extends the commemoration of it over eight days Originally the feast of Pentecost brought to an end in Rome the fifty days of the Easter celebrations and introduced the fast of the Ember Days of the summer quarter. Afterwards it it became customary to continue the festivity for two more days, the Monday and the Tuesday, and, finally, after the time of Pope St. Leo the Great it was extended like the Octave of Easter through the entire week. The station was at St. Peter in Chains to avoid having two successive stations at the Vatican.Today's Gospel shows the immense contrast between God and man. God so loves the world that, in order to save it, He sacrifices His only-begotten Son, whilst mankind repays this supreme love with utter ingratitude and obstinately chooses darkness rather than light. See the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for Pentecost Monday

Saint Ubaldus, Bishop of Gubbio in Central Italy, died at his post in 1160, after great devotion to his flock and with such a reputation for sanctity that he was canonized in less than thirty years after his death. He is remembered for his great power over the evil spirits. See the Mass "Statuit ei Dominus" for St. Ubaldus

On this Pentecost Monday, which is also considered a Double of the First Class feast, the liturgy recalls the Descent of the Holy Ghost on the Apostles; and the Church extends the commemoration of it over eight days. On this day the Gift of Understanding is the focus as we reflect on what the Angelic Doctor of the Church said about this particular gift "in understanding, we comprehend how we need to live as followers of Christ. A person with understanding is not confused by the conflicting messages in our culture about the right way to live. The gift of understanding perfects a person's speculative reason in the apprehension of truth. It is the gift whereby self-evident principles are known". To fully understand the meaning of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we invite you to watch the videos that so beautifully explain the Immemorial Mass of All Ages Understanding the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

During this Pentecost Week we want to bring you pertinent sermons from over the years on the importance of the descent of the Holy Ghost and what it means for the Church today. Fr. Kevin Vaillancourt shares the difference of what Divine Revelation set in stone and how the CONciLIAR church has veered so far from that where now the modern church is based in the evolution of teaching which transfers into the evolution of morals as well. He reminds us of the 12 points of the Catechism from the Creed so that we have a guideline to stay on the straight and narrow in faith and morals. For as Father points out, you cannot have one without the other. It is a wonderful 26-minute sermon to realize if you're still in the Vatican 2 church, you'll want to flee as fast as possible The Birthday of the Church

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on the Octave Day of the Ascension we honor Mary with the title of Tower of Ivory for she is as pure as the white and a tower of strength for all her children just as she was for the Apostles who didn't understand why her divine Son must leave them for they did not understand His Spirit at the time. They had Mary with them, just as we do today when we pray her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

For the sixteenth day of the month, the flower is the LILY OF THE VALLEY with the corresponding Virtue being PUNCTUALITY. The purity of the Lily of the Valley can be equated with the parable of the Five Virgins who were punctual and had their lamps lit when the Master came; whereas the other five foolish virgins were not punctual and because they were not, missed out on eternal bliss. That is why punctuality in all things is a virtue so that we will always live in the state of sanctifying grace and like the snow-white Lily of the Valley be ready when God decides to take us out of this Valley of Tears. It is a reminder of the Hail Holy Queen prayer to Our Lady whom we honor this month with the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today is the Double of the First Class Feast of Pentecost Tuesday. The titular church of St. Anastasia, once the Court church during the Byzantine period, is chosen for today's station instead of the Basilica of St. Paul, as the latter is too far out for a procession at this season of the year when the weather is too warm. During the Octave of Pentecost the Church celebrates more especially the glories of the grace of the Holy Ghost and His secret work of sanctification in the Mystical Body of Christ. Thus to-day she repeats in the verse for the Communion the words of Our Lord: "The Spirit Who proceedeth from the Father, He shall glorify Me," and this glorification consists chiefly in our ...More

St. Paschal Baylon was a simple lay brother of the Franciscan Order, and, by preference, occupied himself with the roughest and most servile tasks. He was distinguished by an ardent love and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. He died in the odor of sanctity, May 15, 1592. Even after death his body moved and his eyes opened in an act of adoration when the priest raised up the sacred host at the elevation in the Mass. Pope Leo XIII declared him protector of all Eucharistic Congresses and works. ...More

The Gift of Counsel is the featured Gift of the Holy Ghost on this last of the Double of the First Class feasts this week. Again, St. Thomas Aquinas writes about this gift, "with the gift of counsel/right judgment, we know the difference between right and wrong, and we choose to do what is right. A person with right judgment avoids sin and lives out the values taught by Jesus". We will be held accountable before the eternal Judge for how we conducted our lives and Counsel helps us as a moral compass, so to speak, in navigating through life. It truly is a Gift we should all strive for, especially Traditional Catholics who have such a massive mission to enlighten those plunged in the darkness of the conciliar church and worldly values. Are we making the right judgments if we stay in the church of Vatican 2? Ask yourself that question if you have not already fled the Novus Ordo, or better put Bogus Ordo. Seek out the counsel of true priests, not those who march in blind obedience to false 'popes'. We invite you take counsel from some of these videos by true Bishops and Priests Videos confirming the True Church.

We bring you today a sermon by His Excellency Bishop Donald Sanborn given in which he shares what life really means - the supernatural life of one's soul, which is a participation in God's Own life from Adam and Eve on. The Bishop shows how the life was extinguished with the fall of man and how it could only be restored by Christ's Sacrifice, Death and Resurrection and then assured to us through His Spirit. The Bishop counsels us on the right judgment to have as he explains in his short sermon on Pentecost

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today on this feast of the holy and humble Franciscan lay brother St. Pascal Baylon we honor Mary as Seat of Wisdom for she always imparts wisdom to her children if only we would take her wise advice. What could be more wise than to do as she asks and pray often, if not daily, her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

On the seventeenth day of May the Virtue is FIDELITY IN LITTLE THINGS with the corresponding Flower being the beautiful LILAC. It is the little buds that group together in fidelity to the greater good God intended to emit the spring fragrance that is so pleasing to the olfactory senses. Lilacs grow in colder climes, meaning they go dormant - retreat, if you will, so that toughened in the rough weather they can blossom ever more magnificently. So also with us. The more trials we face, the more we grow in grace and the more we will be faithful in little things. Today is the feast of St. Paschal Baylon, the holy Franciscan Brother who had such a devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and died in the odor of sanctity. The fragrance of the lilac should remind us of our goal in striving for sanctity through doing the little things God asks and one of those is to pray the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today is Ember Wednesday within the Octave of Pentecost and the Mass bears a festival character; at one time the Ember fast was postponed for a few weeks. ...More

Saint Venantius was born in Camerino, Italy during the persecution of the cruel Roman Emperor Decius At the tender age of fifteen years Venantius became a Christian, preaching Christ to others. His history is one of the most miraculous in the annals of the early martyrs. Having learned that he was about to be arrested, he presented himself to the governor of Camerino, Antiochus, at the city gates, and said to him that the lives of the gods were filled with every kind of crime, that there was only one God, whose unique Son had become a man to deliver his fellow humans from the tyranny of sin. When it was found impossible to shake his constancy either by threats or promises, he was condemned to be scourged, but was miraculously saved by an Angel. He was then burnt with torches and suspended over a low fire that he might be suffocated by the smoke. The judge's secretary, while admiring the steadfastness of the Saint, saw an Angel robed in white, who stamped out the fire and again set free the youthful martyr. This man proclaimed his faith in Christ and was baptized with his whole family. Shortly afterwards he won the martyr's crown. Venantius was summoned to appear before Antiochus. Unable to make him renounce his faith, the governor cast him into prison with an apostate soldier, who strove in vain to tempt him. Antiochus, furious, then ordered his ...More

Pope St. Gregory VII re-established the Ember Days in their proper place, but the festal tone of the Office was retained. The contrast between today's fast and the Gospel lesson in which Jesus offers Himself as the bread of eternal life is very opportune. Man does not live by bread alone, but has an absolute need of the Word of God, without Whom this earthly existence is as a day without light, an empty pretence of life, a gloomy image of death. The rules of fast and abstinence are not just suggestions and it's important everyone understands what they are as you can see here: Everyone between 21 and 59 years of age is bound to observe the law of fast. The days of fast are all the days in Lent, all days of partial abstinence except Sundays. On days of fast only one full meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength may be taken according to each one's need, but together they should not equal another full meal. Meat may be taken at the principal meal on a day of fast except on days of complete abstinence. Eating between meals is not permitted but liquids, including milk and fruit juices are allowed. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. In doubt concerning fast or abstinence, consult your parish priest or confessor. As for abstinence, everyone over 7 years of age is bound to observe the law of abstinence. Complete abstinence is to be observed on Fridays, Ash Wednesday, Holy Saturday and the Vigils of the Immaculate Conception (December 7) and Christmas (December 24). On days of complete abstinence, meat and soup or gravy made from meat may not be used at all. Partial abstinence is to be observed on Ember Wednesdays and Saturdays and the vigil of Pentecost (Saturday before). On days of partial abstinence, (which are all the days of Lent for those bound by the laws of fasting) which are not complete abstinence days or Sundays, meat and soup or gravy made from meat may be taken only once a day at the principal meal.

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on this last day of the oldest Novena in the Church - this to the Holy Ghost, The Blessed Virgin's divine Spouse and thus we honor her as Mother most chaste as we make an Act of Consecration to the Sanctifier while continuing to pray the Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.
For more on the Total Consecration, listen to a sermon by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI on the holy, devout servant of Mary St. Louis de Montfort, and how we can also be devoted slaves of Our Lady with St. Louis de Montfort and True Devotion

Today on the eighteenth day of May the flower is the delicate LAVENDER which is mauve in its lavender-like hues with the corresponding Virtue being MODESTY. This is appropriate for modesty is the cornerstone of chastity and purity. Nothing makes Our Lady happier than a pure heart and a pure heart begins with being pure in the flesh. What we wear governs how we think, where we place God in our lives. Like the Lavender, our souls are delicate and to be immodest in any way or not to practice custody of the eyes puts that delicateness in jeopardy. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost and we must strive to adorn these temples with layers of clothing that are pleasing to our Almighty Creator, not man. What also is pleasing to God is when we pay honor to His Blessed Mother this month with the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The station is now at St. Lawrence, although the Mass would indicate that at one time it was at the Church of the Twelve Apostles. The Lesson from the Acts describes the joy which filled the people of Samaria when the deacon Philip preached the Gospel and worked miracles among them. This joy is a gift of the Holy Ghost. If the world nowadays is more than ever before restless and eager for amusements, it shows that ...More

Saint Peter Celestine was the eleventh of the twelve children of a poor Italian farmer. As a child, Peter had visions of our Blessed Lady, Angels and Saints. His heavenly visitors encouraged him in his prayers and chided him when he fell into any fault. His mother, though only a poor widow, sent him to school, feeling sure that he would one day be a Saint. At the age of twenty, he left his home in Apulia to live in a mountain solitude. Here he passed three years, assaulted by the evil spirits and beset with temptations of the flesh, but consoled by the visits of Angels. After this his seclusion was invaded by disciples who refused to be sent away; and the rule of life which he gave them formed the foundation of the Celestines, a branch of the Order of Saint Benedict. Angels assisted in the church which Peter built; unseen bells rang peals of surpassing sweetness, and Heavenly music filled the sanctuary when he offered the Holy Sacrifice; he had consented to be ordained, to find in the Holy Eucharist assistance against temptation. Suddenly the poor anchorite found himself torn from his loved solitude, having been named by acclamation to the Papal throne, which had remained vacant for twenty-seven months. Resistance was of no avail. He took the name of Celestine, to remind him of the Heaven he was leaving and for which he sighed. He was seventy-two years old. After a reign of five months, Peter judged himself unfit for the office, and summoning the cardinals to his presence, he solemnly resigned his trust. During the remaining three years of his life he worked many and great miracles. On the ...More

We remain in the Octave Week of Pentecost, and today we focus on the Gift of Holy Fear, which is the same as Fear of the Lord. Again, St. Thomas Aquinas describes this Gift so simply for it is being aware of the glory and majesty of God. If a one with wonder and awe knows that God is the perfection of all we desire: perfect knowledge, perfect goodness, perfect power, and perfect love, how can we fear Him? Holy fear is just that, the fear of separating oneself from God. It is a "filial fear, like a child's fear of offending his father, rather than a servile fear, that is, a fear of punishment. We know that Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. How appropriate then that this coincides this year with the feast of a fellow Doctor St. Basil the Great who embodied the Fear of the Lord in boldly preaching against the heresies of his time. So also today we must boldly speak out for Catholic truth and show souls that what passes as 'Catholic' today with the Modernist church is not Catholic. That is why we provide sources to prove that. Once you realize the truths of what is provided, you will have no fear in proclaiming it to others if you truly desire the Gift of Holy Fear. What you do need to do is fear if you do not share Why the Vatican 2 CONciLIAR church CANNOT be Catholic

We have two sermons to bring you from Bishop Daniel Dolan covering both today's and tomorrow's saint. First Bishop Daniel Dolan provides a seven-minute sermon on a saint who, in the late middle ages, urged the cardinals to elect a pope since the Church had been without one for 21 months (and you thought that was a long interregnum in a time of sede vacante?!!!) and, lo and behold, the conclave turned around and elected this humble hermit who really didn't want to be the Sovereign Pontiff. He was truly a humble pope, nothing like the faux layman 'pope' Mr. Bergoglio the unFrancis. Unlike the latter, Celestine was greatly persecuted for his humility, by his successor no less for politics ruled the roost even back then. The more things change, the more they stay the same. We need more holy men of the caliber of Pope St. Peter Celestine and today is the feast of the holy confessor of Siena Bernardine and His Excellency offers another seven minute sermon to the children on processions as promoted by St. Bernardine for he was a great preacher and many would follow him everywhere. He used the metaphor of the donkey to illustrate the procession of life to urge his flock to be wise and make amends for prudence pays off and we learn from our mistakes, especially from sins we might have committed as he cautions us to learn also from the practical wisdom of St. Bernardine of Siena

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on this second day of the oldest Novena in the Church and feast of the holy Sovereign Pontiff St. Celestine we honor Mary as most admirable. It is an admirable habit to remember to pray daily her Holy Rosary while also we should contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the prayer imparted by the angel of Fatima with The Fatima Prayers. For more on the Total Consecration, listen to a sermon by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI on the holy, devout servant of Mary St. Louis de Montfort, and how we can also be devoted slaves of Our Lady with St. Louis de Montfort and True Devotion

For the nineteenth day of May the flower offered to Our Lady for Queen of the May is the rugged HAWTHORN with the corresponding Virtue being MORTIFICATION. This is appropriate for mortification takes being able to withstand pain and pleasure. The red-fruited Hawthorn consisting of dense corymbs of pink-red flowers has stems and leaves which are densely covered with short wooly hairs and must bear up under cold and windy conditions. That is why it is found in evergreen country and the mountains where conditions are rough for a lot of wind helps the weather-worn Hawthorn to bloom. How fitting that this coincides with the feast of Pope Saint Celestine V today for this holy monk before being elected, spent time in mortification among the Hawthorn flowers. He realized that mortification helps to toughen us in the face of temptation and the life of ease, allowing grace to blossom forth the aromatic myrrh of the Hawthorn. In fact, when elected the Catholic Encyclopedia says "unseen bells rang peals of surpassing sweetness." And speaking of sweetness, we encourage you during Mary's month to pray the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Station at the Church of the Twelve Holy Apostles The stational Mass was at one time placed at Sts. John and Paul, but in the earlier days was held where the Roman Missal now assigns it. The spirit in which the Church solemnizes her feasts is one of intense spiritual joy. The Introit today contains, as it were, the summary of a great ascetic treatise on Christian joy: "My lips shall rejoice when I shall sing to thee, alleluia, alleluia"; this is the inward consequence of this prayer of love. In the Postcommunion we pray that the sacred mysteries of the altar, which we have ...More

At this season of the year, when Jesus by His triumph has realized His name of Saviour, the Cycle celebrates the Feast of St. Bernardine who was consumed "by the very ardent love of this divine name" (Collect). Born of a noble family of Siena, St. Bernardine renounced all his possessions. He kept his chastity intact, in spite of the dangers to which his handsome features exposed him. The Church applies to him the words of Holy Scripture: "He had it in his power to violate the commandment of God, and he did not violate it" (Epistle). "Not placing his hope in money and treasures" (Ibid.) he left all, to follow Christ (Gospel), and entered the Order of St. Francis, one of whose glories he is. Traveling through towns and villages, everywhere ...More

All the saints of the Church practiced the virtue of Piety and that is the Gift of the Holy Ghost emphasized on Ember Friday in the Week of Pentecost. As the Angelic Doctor of the Church St. Thomas Aquinas says, "Through piety, we have a deep sense of respect for God and the Church. A person with reverence recognizes our total reliance on God and comes before God with humility, trust, and love. Piety is the gift whereby, at the Holy Spirit's instigation, we pay worship and duty to God as our Father". Is this not exactly what the Church Triumphant stands for, and, as we see today what the vast majority in the CONciLIAR church have no concept of? That is why it is important to practice piety by obedience to all Catholic teaching and to make prayer your priority in life. There is no greater way, outside of the Holy Mass, to assure this than through the Holy Rosary and then by seeking out a true traditional priest for the Consecration & Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Home

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on this feast of the holy confessor St. Bernardine of Siena, we honor Our Lady as Mystical Rose so fair and renew our pledge to pray daily her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers. For more on the Total Consecration, listen to a sermon by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI on the holy, devout servant of Mary St. Louis de Montfort, and how we can also be devoted slaves of Our Lady with St. Louis de Montfort and True Devotion

For the twentieth day of May the flower offered to Our Lady for Queen of the May is the popular GERANIUM with the corresponding Virtue being ZEAL FOR SOULS. Consider that the colorful Geraniums number over 100 million plants grown and sold throughout the world every year. Each colorful, hardy perennial plant, while often different in color and even design, still belongs to the Geranium family. Now consider that in souls - 100 million souls a year being converted! Talk about Zeal for Souls! That is what we should all have and what pleases Blessed Mary so much. We should consider a person's soul much more beautiful in God's sight than a Geranium and tend to cultivating souls by nourishing them perennially with the Truths and Traditions of the One, True Church. Let us all increase our zeal for souls and pray the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

In the Seventh Century due to the postponement of the Ember fast the station was at St. Stephen on the Caelian Hill; in the Eleventh Century a return was made to the primitive place, St. Peter. Of the five scriptural Lessons which precede the Gloria in excelsis of the Mass, some refer to the feast of Pentecost and some to the "fast of the fourth month," St. Leo the Great calls it; they represent a kind of compromise or fusion of the two rites. Formerly the vigil lasted throughout the night, and twelve lessons were read, both in Greek and in Latin; but in the time of St. Gregory the Great the vigil was shortened and brought within more reasonable limits, as we now find it in our present Missal. Ordinations are held on this day, the various Orders being given as on the Ember Saturday in September. Officially, the Paschal Season closes with the Mass. The Sacrifice of the Mass fittingly brings the holy season of Easter to an end. Our redemption is now accomplished, and the Holy Ghost has come as though to insure its lasting efficacy by means of the sacramental character which He impresses on our souls. This is the special prerogative of the divine Paraclete; His work is always definite, complete, and final, like a conclusion which follows inevitably and irrevocably on its premises. This is the reason why sins against the Holy Ghost can never find pardon; for they are the outcome of the final hardening of the soul in utter hatred of Supreme Love. See the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass of Caritas Dei

Today on this last day of Pentecost Week, we focus on the Gift of Knowledge. The Lesson from the Acts describes the joy which filled the people of Samaria when the deacon Philip preached the Gospel and worked miracles among them. This joy is a gift of the Holy Ghost. If the world nowadays is more than ever before restless and eager for amusements, it shows that it has none of the joy and consolation of the divine Paraclete, for which it has become unworthy by its resistance to His grace. We have long used as the slogan for our DailyCatholic publication: KNOW the Faith in order to KEEP the Faith! For knowledge of what the true Church has always taught we refer you to the decrees of past true reliable Soverign Pontiffs in Documenting what the Church has already decreed

Fr. Casimir Puskorius, CMRI, pastor of Mount St. Michael's in Spokane, Washington shares the wisdom of virtue through the Gift of Knowledge where we need to know when we're in trouble and that means setting up hedges in our spiritual life ahead of time so that sin cannot penetrate our souls. He points out how important this is for purity and, as Our Lady said how more souls go to hell for the sins against the flesh. With all the onslaught of impure things everywhere, we cannot avoid the normal occasions of sin becasuse of society today, but with the gift of Knowledge we can better avoid the proximate occasions of sin for if we do not take great care to avoid them then we're cutting down those hedges and are already guilty of the sin. We must know this and be on our guard to keep those hedges in place and stay on the straight and narrow path by assuring we remain in the state of Sanctifying Grace. Father does not hedge his words in Create Protective Hedges

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May we honor the Blessed Mother as Mystical Rose as we continue to celebrate Paschaltide and look to the Blessed Virgin for as we honor her by renewing our pledge to pray daily her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers. For more on the Total Consecration, listen to a sermon by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI on the holy, devout servant of Mary St. Louis de Montfort, and how we can also be devoted slaves of Our Lady with St. Louis de Montfort and True Devotion

For the twenty-first day of May the flower offered to Our Lady as Queen of the May is the bluish PERIWINKLE with the corresponding Virtue being PURITY OF INTENTION. It has been said the best intentions often go awry. One reason they do is because they may not be based on God's will. Through purity of intention, it is based on doing the Divine Will in all things. One reason the Periwinkle plant is associated with this is because the periwinkle is a trailing evergreen herb with solitary blue or white flowers, often also referred to as myrtle in the U.S. The trail of good intentions, if followed in a straight line toward Heaven will stretch further toward God; those intentions which are not cultivated and cropped by living a virtuous life, will scatter every which way and gather cockle and thistles, thus becoming refuse to be cast into the eternal fires (cf. St. Matthew 7: 19). Remember Our Lady this month with the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

As much as we hate to beg, we have no choice. If you have not donated before, isn't it only right and proper to donate now? Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Just click the button below or send a check/money order to the address below. We are a bonafide non-profit 501c(3) religious association and all donations are tax-deductible. Whatever you would have contributed toward any bloated political campaigns or thrown away in the conciliar collection plates that only goes to covering up the sins of its presbyters and false primates while destroying all semblence of Catholicism, why not earmark it for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic? After all, shouldn't we all take St. Paul's strong counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to heart and "stand firm, and hold the traditions which you have learned"?

We encourage you to learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass - the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in these videos at this link because each time you worthily assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in person, you gain graces that are placed in a "golden chalice", so to speak, and is offered to God to be weighed in substance when you stand before Him at your Particular Judgment. The more you have filled this chalice, the better will it go for your spiritual welfare in eternity, enhanced by your cooperation with grace. Know the Mass

When One Cannot physically assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we provide additional prayers that can be supplemented with the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and the PROPER OF THE DAY to enable you to better prepare yourself at home. Of course, this never replaces actually being there, but it is much better than attending the Novus Ordo services. Therefore we have gleaned from The Key of Heaven prayers to say at home. It is very comforting to know that the Holy Mass is offered for us even when we are not actually present. But to enjoy the benefits which it procures, we must by a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION become partakers of the altar from which we are temporarily banished. Here we provide prayers in preparation for fulfilling assistance in absentia in addition to the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and PROPER OF THE DAY. PRAYERS IN ABSENTIA

    Prayer Before the Crucifix

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst fix deep within my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope and Charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, whilst with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious Wounds; having before my eyes the words which David in prophesy spoke concerning Thee, O Good Jesus: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."

    Plenary Indulgence, Condition:
    • Confession
    • Communion
    • One Our Father
    • One Hail Mary
    • One Glory be...

  • The Fatima Prayers

My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.

The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

    Hail Mary...

    Hail Mary...

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

    Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
