'Tis that time of year once again when we always take time to refocus, to rest, pray and reload. But before we head for hiatus and refresh, we are not leaving you our readers high and dry. Not by a long shot. With this Annual Summer Hiatus Edition we resume our tradition of the Tower of Trent Awards. Last year just didn't afford time to didn't afford time to present the awards. Two other categories of awards were not run as well. Those were the Uglies and the IgNOMinious gNOMes infamous "awards". Since what the secular and conciliar clowns are doing, why give them more ink? The time spent in researching or encouraging readers to nominate the worst examples, which for us and those voting, entails having to venture into that jungle of modern media and the diocesan dungheaps respectively, can be better spent by all of us in prayer and good works as our Lord says in Sunday's gospel of the Good Samaritan "Go and do thou in like manner " (St. Luke 10: 37). Therefore, we've ceased those shallow awards. Yeah, they were fun at times, but also time-draining and, when you consider past recipients, has anyone of them repented? Have they corrected their erring ways? Not on you life. It's business as usual as they grease the slippery slope towards satan's lair. So it's futile to focus our attention on that. But it is our business to laud outstanding contributions to exemplary Catholics who have consistently promoted the Truths and Traditions of holy Mother Church and it is our privilege to announce this year's recipients above. What we want to do is provide the various traditional devotional practices and inspiring articles to help you apply the solid sensus Catholicus for the sake of souls. The award for all five is long overdue. They are all deserving and deeply loved by their flock. While we're announcing them all at one time, each has a special feast day that they are being honored and we would respectfully ask that you remember them in your prayers. These, my dear friends, are the giants of the Traditional Movement today, the hope for the Church tomorrow. While the "Resist-yet-Recognize" Crowd are crowding the fence, what they're doing is leaning further away from tradition and trying to compensate what they're doing as Catholic. These five, who are enshrined this year, can tell you, it doesn't work. Never will. It's all or nothing, and that is the title of Griff Ruby's sixth installment of his excellent expose of the Dimond Brothers' Treatise trying to defend the heresy of Feeneyism. If Griff's first set (six articles) hasn't been the nail to the coffin, he'll be bringing the hammer even heavier when we resume in September. Buyers of the Dimond spin beware.
Also being put on notice are the anti-Thuc agitators who continue their dishonest campaign of slurring a very good bishop and show their deliberate bias that has no basis. Father Martin Stepanich, OFM, STD, one of the honorees this year, provides a letter he wrote five years ago advising anyone continuing this calumny to cease and desist. Hopefully, his no-nonsense letter should open several eyes. John Gregory's own eyes were opened by Griff's documentation and John provides a quote from a SSPX priest that he turns back on the priest to apply to the logic or should we say illogic of the SSPX priest not hearing what he said. To assume something is not true, without providing the proof is deliberate deceit and there are quite a few traditionalists guilty of such who still give credence to a blatant material and formal heretic who dares to call himself a pope. John gets to the heart of the matter in his piece, "The Truth and Nothing but the Truth!" Speaking of truth, Scott Montgomery provides very good evidence written by one of His Holiness Pope Saint Pius X's personal appointees Father Fernand Prat, S.J. to the Pontifical Biblical Commission in 1903, as to the credibility of Saint Paul as the author of the Epistle to the Hebrew. This is part of Scott's essay on Rabban Gamaliel , whom St. Paul was tutored by in his younger years. Learn more in his essay "Saint of the Sanhedrin."
With this being the month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary followed by the month of Our Most Sorrowful Mother in September, we want to feature special inspiration and devotions during this time beginning with the Litany of the Immaculate Heart, the Act of Reparation and Consecration as well as the beautiful Prayer to the Queen of Heaven. Not to be forgotten is the, the Novena to Saint Philomena leading up to her "forgotten" feast day on Monday, August 11. In addition there is a stirring sermon written by the holy Cure of Ars Saint Jean Marie de Vianney posted for his feast day; the Novena in Preparation for the Assumption beginning on the Feast of the Transfiguration through the Vigil of the Assumption. On that day we provide a short reflection below by Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger on the Dormition of our Lady. We bring you a redact pair of inspiring columns by Gabriel Garnica for the feast of Saint Clare and later the feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. There are countless feasts and saints during this time and you are not left without for we continue to be the only website in the world to provide the daily Propers of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in both Latin and English for each and every day of the year. And a bonus this year: We're providing a link to a sermon a day that you can listen to, most of them by the golden, mellow, fatherly voice of Bishop Daniel Dolan, another recipient this year of the Tower of Trent, with a few on our Lady's feast days by another honoree Bishop Donald Sanborn.
And finally, we give you a recap of our campaign to eradicate the Heresy of Feeneyism with the series of articles published thus far. How long will it go on? Until the Feeneyites discover bearing false witness is a sin against the Eighth Commandment that also has repercussions with the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Seventh and Tenth. Can the Sixth and Ninth be far behind?
And, speaking of behind, donations have lagged terribly. Other than a few regular contributors, everyone else has been sitting on their wallets, admittedly thinner for all of us thanks to inflation and the intentional manipulation of the monetary system by greedy do-nothing legislative and judiciary branches, not to mention corporate and conciliar corruptors. Where do you stand? Are you a lukewarm do-nothing? Please read St. John Vianney's sermon below and ask yourself if you're really doing all you can to help traditional ministries like ours in our difficult, yet dauntless mission against the miasma of lukewarmness and deliberate undermining being carried out against Catholic doctrine. We're not just taking this hiatus for our health. It's also necessary to work on projects that will hopefully help generate necessary funds to keep The Daily Catholic going. Alot depends on you. If you don't donate, we don't publish as often and everyone loses. We desperately need your donations. Won't you please turn up the burners and give? To the right and a short scroll down is the link to our PayPal page which is totally secure or just go to Donation Page. Any amount you can give from your heart is appreciated. As a certain conservative nun used to say on her television show on EWTN, "Squeeze us in between the telephone and electric bill." Well, we all know by now that ETWN is definitely not traditional. So what better substitute than to start giving donations which were formerly earmarked for EWTN to The Daily Catholic from now on? We guarantee rock-solid Catholic truth, totally free of charismatic crazies, protestant polemics and conciliar concessions.
We pray you'll respond from your heart because it's the right thing to do. Our family of readers remain in our prayers and is that not what it's all about!? We urge all to not waiver during these dog days of August and early September. Stay with your daily Rosaries, or, as the most prolific Catholic writer in the world today and my dear friend, who was so helpful in assisting with this year's Tower of Trent Awards, Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey would say, "Pray as many Rosaries as your state in life permits. Isn't it time to say a Rosary right now?" Go ahead, please. This page will still be here when you get back. And while you're at it, please keep all of our traditional priests in your prayers. They are so precious for without them, no True Presence. That's serious, folks. Oh, and if you can, along with your donations, squeeze us in at the end of your prayers, too. Thanks and God bless and Mary keep.
Michael Cain, editor, The Daily Catholic
It's high time the anti-Thuc agitators get off the low road they've taken driving their dishonest slur campaign caravan against a valid and good Archbishop and his successors. Are you listening, SSPX, SSPV and Home-Aloners?
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey has posted Father Martin Stepanich's definitive proof that the Thuc-line Consecrations ARE valid and no one should ever again dare to suggest otherwise for to do so would be to call into question the Sacrament of Holy Orders itself and the valid consecration of Bishops in the sacred rite (Sacramentum Ordinis) prior to the invalid changes in the new rite of the conciliar church. But this issue deals with His Excellency Pierre Martin Ngo-dinh-Thuc who was consecrated a bishop during the pontificate of Pope Pius XI and who balked against the Novus Ordo and all it represented following Vatican II. For more on Archbishop Thuc we recommend our Tribute to him two years ago when he was inducted posthumously into the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor. It is most appropriate that this article, which first appeared in Fr. Kevin Vaillancourt's periodical The Answers five years ago, is being republished by Tom which coincides with honoring the five honorees to be enshrined into the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor this year and Father Martin is the "elder statesman" on a list which includes four Thuc-line Bishops who are most deserving of the honor. Please read Father's article to understand the dishonest campaign that has been waged against a dedicated Archbishop and those he consecrated.
Thuc Issue No Longer Controversial
For a long time many have suspected the author of the Treatise has lost his marbles. It's a fact he's left some out of the bag, which proves he's not playing fair.

Griff Ruby completes the first round with his sixth installment of a mega-part comprehensive series "The Art of Scholastic Dishonesty" in exposing not only the heresy of Feeneyism, but also the intended deliberate dishonest deception of this heresy's defender, most notably one Peter Dimond whose moral compass has taken him dangerously off course. Some might think he's lost his marbles by playing loose and fast with the doctrinal game. However, Catholic truth is always rock solid as marble and the true Church never lags whether the match involves the aggies and steelies of the great Fathers and Doctors that plunked Arianism and Pelagianism, or the Rosary-beaded puries and onyx orbs that targeted Albigensianism, or knuckling down with the flints and alabaster milkies of Trent to strike out of the circle the ducks of Protestantism, Calvinism and every other ism that was introduced in the teen centuries, or the cats-eyes and micas that shoot at the overwhelming heresies so prevalent today in the counterfeit church of conciliarism, including one not affiliated with such, but nevertheless still an obstacle in the direct line: pitching against the fudging Feeneyites. Griff provides clear evidence that the author of the Treatise has been shooting in the dark, taking great liberties in his personal "interpretations" of papal decrees and statements of Saints, Doctors, and sincere Catholic luminaries of the Church. The end result is deliberate deception and proof he's refused to knuckle down to the truth of BOB/BOD. Griff provides the clear evidence in Part Six, It's All or Nothing!

To Consider that a member of the Jewish Sanhedrin could be a saint might, on the surface, sound more like more of Ratzinger's heretical ecumenism, but in fact, there are three generations of loyal High Priests who were working in concert with the Lord, and the last in that lineage could very well be a saint.
With this being the 2000 year anniversary of the Apostle Saint Paul's birth in Tarsus, Scott Montgomery presents a fascinating, factual account of the early life of the Apostle of the Gentiles and how God all along had prepared him through Jewish Law with a very special teacher of the lineage of the good Rabbis before Christ's public life in order for St. Paul to carry out the mission he would eventually accomplish after his "awakening" on the road to Damascus. While it is true that the Apostle of the Gentiles was graced by visions of Christ Himself and was greatly inspired by the Holy Ghost, Paul's own knowledge and human inspiration came from the one God had prepared for him for his special mission under the master Rabban Gamaliel, son of Simeon and grandson of the faithful Hillel. Many times we lump the Pharisees into one loathsome list, but there were exceptions which are shown here in the lineage of Hillel. Scott shares this, as well as a short tie-in with the finding of the Relics of St. Stephen in addition to an excellent extract, giving credence to St. Paul being the author of the Epistle to the Hebrews, by Fr. Fernand Prat, S.J. whom Pope Saint Pius X had personally appointed as one of the forty consultors to the Pontifical Biblical Commission in 1903. Scott shares his scholastic essay, Saint of the Sanhedrin
Can those anti-sedevacantist agitators actually hear themselves when they begin squawking away that such an interminable interregnum without a true Pope would be impossible? Have they actually listened and watched the quacks that are running things in Rome? If not they're duck soup!

John Gregory, who humbly admits Griff's series has convinced him of several things, weighs in with something that is so obvious. He can see now how the snakeoil salesmen, aka the Dimond Brothers, have been selling the faithful swampland in hell with their Feeney heresy while condemning everyone who does not agree with their fallacy. John sees the irony in the SSPX argument against Feeneyism, but leaves one going "duh!" when they don't connect the dots. John illustrates how the idiom of what's good for the goose is good for the gander applies quite aptly to those who will argue against Feeneyism with great logic, but will turn into flapping, stumbling imbeciles when trying to defend anti-sedevacantism. Is there an ulterior motive why they refuse to fly closer to the truth before diving to conclusions? The more dishonest they are with others, the more likely it is that their opinions will eventually get shot down. The question is: What are they trying to protect? Certainly not the obvious truth. John gets at the truth with his article The Truth and Nothing But the Truth!
We all know what the Lord says about the "lukewarm" in chapter three, verse sixteen in the Book of Apocalypse. The Cure of Ars doesn't turns up the heat of what we need to do to avoid that category.
In honor of the holy patron of priests, Saint Jean Baptiste Marie Vianney, the beloved Cure of Ars in France, we present a sermon in which this humble holy priest holds nothing back in exacting a thorough examination of our souls, consciences and habits. By and large Traditional Catholics live their daily lives free of mortal sin, but how many of us seriously take the Cure of Ars' words seriously enough to move out of whatever comfort zone we are in at the present and strive to love God more, to be more aware of His role for each of us, and to manifest our choice of God over the world? That is a question St. Jean Marie Vianney asks. How will we answer? His words are as applicable today, even moreso, than in his time as parish vicar in the post French Revolution days of the first half of the 19th century. It is time today to go back to square one and truly take in the words and heart of this saintly pastor who warned against this because of one problem, the lukewarmness of Catholics who dropped their guard to how powerful satan is and the holy Pere Vianney tells it like it is with his sermon
"On the Lukewarmness of Souls"

When you Clare enough to do your very best for God
We bring you two redacted pieces from Gabriel Garnica during this hiatus. For August 12 we see how Saint Clare could influence modern man and woman. What the holy Clare did to preserve her town and the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar from being profaned might be considered heroic by feminists today because Clare was a woman. What modern women and those politically correct pundits forget is that Clare did it not to assert her feminineness but because of it. Her heart was torn at the prospects of what could occur if the infidels conquered Assisi. Thus, with a hurting, but hopeful heart she took measures to preserve the most precious Entity in her life - Jesus Christ, truly present Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Most Blessed Sacrament and placing all her trust in Him to preserve them from captivity. She knew God would not fail a trusting and pure heart. If only today's woman would follow her example and realize the role God intended for her in spiritually partnering with Him to populate Heaven. Were they to do so, they'd be amazed how the men and all mankind would change for the better. Gabriel gives us a hint of this in his column Why Saint Clare Matters So Much Today

Don't be afraid to stick your neck out. So you may get it cut off, but, if you're still sound of mind you'll realize it beats the alternative of giving in to satan. What's better: keeping your head in hell, or letting go and trust God to help you save your soul?
On the feast when we commemorate Saint John the Baptist's Beheading in late August, Gabriel Garnica provides a feature to contemplate on: as much as John didn't want to lose his head, he cherished his soul more. Over the centuries one of the most barbaric forms of execution has always been chopping off one's head. It's called many things, decapitation or, as the venerable Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger calls it "decollation", which comes from the Latin word collatus which means neck and from which we derive the English word "collar." Decollate means down from the neck as in the guillotine has spoken. Heads on platters and poles are nothing new. From the earliest biblical times such savagery was employed and to the sadistic Salome and her mother, it was the ultimate perversity to request John the Baptist's head on a plate. John could easily have begged off, issued an apology that he didn't really mean to remand Herod and Herodias for their illicit marriage, and, after all, can't we just get along. That's what the leaders of the counterfeit church of conciliarism would do today for they have lost their minds and their faith. Those who are truly dedicated to Christ will not fret about losing their heads, but fear losing their souls and thus will seek to be holy. Few were as dedicated, humble, holy and uncompromising as the man who prepared the path of the Lord. Do we have that commitment to our Catholicism? Are we willing to decrease so God can increase or will we squirm away from the chopping block when push comes to shove? Gabriel lays out the scenario in What Could Be Worse Than Losing One's Head? Compromising with the World.

Leave it to the venerable Abbe Dom Gueranger to place the Dormition of the Blessed Mother in such a beautiful light.

"What in this dawn before which the brightest constellations pale? Laurence, who has been shining in the August heavens as an incomparable star, is well nigh eclipsed and becomes but the humble satellite of the Queen of Saints, whose triumph is preparing beyond the clouds. Mary stayed on earth after her Son's Ascension, in order to give birth to His Church; but she could not remain for ever in exile. Yet she was not to take her flight to Heaven until this new fruit of her maternity had acquired the growth and strength which it belongs to a mother to give. How sweet to the Church was this dependence! - a privilege given to her members by our Lord in imitation of Himself. As we saw at Christmas-tme, the God-Man carried first in the arms of His Mother, gathering His strength and nourishing His life at her virginal breast; so the mystical body of the Man-God, the Holy Church, received, in its first years, the same care from Mary as the divine Child our Emmanuel. As Joseph heretofore at Nazareth, Peter was now ruling the house of God; but our Lady was none the less to the assembly of the faithful the source of life in the spiritual order, as she had been to Jesus in His Humanity. On the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost and every one of His gifts rested first upon her in all fulness; every grace bestowed on the privileged dwellers in the cenacle was given more eminently and more abundantly to her. The sacred stream of the river maketh the city of God joyful, because first of all the Most High has sanctified His Own tabernacle, made her the the well of living waters, which run with a strong stream from Libanus...The Spouse, the Church on earth, the Church in Heaven, all were waiting for her, who had tended the vine and strengthened its roots, to utter a word such as that which had heretofore brought down the Spouse to earth. But today Heaven, not earth, was to be the gainer. 'Flee away, O my Beloved' It was the voice of Mary about to follow the fragrant footsteps of the Lord her Son up to the eternal mountains whither her own perfumes had preceded her."
Dom Prosper Gueranger, The Liturgical Year, The Vigil of the Assumption, pages 347-8, 350-51
58th Anniversary His Holiness Pope Pius XII's Encyclical Humani Generis issued on August 12, 1950 warning Catholics of the false opinions and errors threatening to undermine the holy Faith. We can see how those in charge today totally ignored his sage words and furiously forged ahead with their agendas so that when His Holiness passed on, all hell would break loose.
Click above for this critical encyclical Humani Generis
The Last Infallible Proclamation from the Seat of Peter was the Declaration by Pope Pius XII of the Dogma of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, body and soul, into Heaven. Since that time nothing has been spoken ex cathedra.
John Gregory has provided inspiring, thought-provoking meditations for the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries of the Our Lady's Holy Rosary first bestowed to Saint Dominic early in the thirteenth century. Since then her holy psalter has served as the most powerful weapon outside the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we could wield against the world, the flesh, and the devil. For the Fourth Glorious Mystery reflection John focuses on His Holiness Pope Pius XII's decree in proclaiming the Dogma of the Assumption on November 1, 1950 with his encyclical Munificentissimus Deus. John takes this papal decree and divides it with the first part applying to the Fourth Mystery of the Rosary on the Assumption of Our Lady into Heaven. The belief of this dogmatic fact was long held by the Magisterium of the Church from the very time of the Blessed Mother being lifted up into Heaven, yet never fully proclaimed as a definitive Dogma until His Holiness Pius XII, in complete harmony with all the authentic bishops of the Church, decreed it. This inspiring papal decree is the compendium of an ideal meditation on the Fourth Glorious Mystery. In honor of this month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, he shares his reflection on

Fr. Ratzinger, meet St. Hyacinth
We bring you Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's essay comparing the migthy martyr Saint Hyacinth with the give-em-anything-but-the-Faith Ratzinger. Tom presents a fascinating account of this extraordinary saint and compares his zeal, faith and determination to please God and trust totally in God to the humanistic, Hegellian attitude we are confronted with by heretic Fr. Joseph Ratzinger, posing as Benedict XVI as if he is a pope, let alone a Catholic. Tom shows how the holy Dominican St. Hyacinth and the Modernist Ratzigner are polar opposites in God's eyes and the ways of the Church He established upon the Rock of Peter for all time. Tom illustrates the stark contrasts and wonders how long it will take Catholics to realize the difference and why we must reject BeneRatz and all he stands for just as we must reject the counterfeit church of conciliarism as the antithesis of holy Mother Church. Hyacinth gave every second of his life to proselytize and destroy pagan idols whereas Ratzinger goes out of his way to declare he won't, but rather accommodate the unbelievers in their false religions, even praise them at the expense of souls. All to please man, not God. Tom explains in his column for the Double Feast of St. Hyacinth, Compare and Contrast

To look to a leader, look to how, what, when, where, who and why he was taught and you'll know his heart. Only if it is in harmony with the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts should he be followed and imitated.
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey presents a redux of his article on the holy Monarch of France dedicated to the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ. That king is none other than Saint Louis IX who was groomed in every way a Catholic citizen first, and then a ruler. Tom illustrates various contradictions proffered by civilization today and the current head of the counterfeit church of conciliarism as "how not to" go about seeking peace and tranquility on this earth. It cannot be accomplished without total adherence to God's Laws and subjection to Christ's Church, His spotless Bride under His rule in all things. Only then can one expect God to be favorable to our prayers. Tom shows how modern man and today's rulers at every level are the antithesis of all that the good and holy St. Louis represented and practiced at all times. It all began with his formation in his early years at the knee of his mother; the same advice he passed on to his son Phillip. Tom shares his thoughts in his column honoring St. Louis on his August 25th feast, From His Mother's Knee

In these times when Modernism has metastasized souls, we need to go back to the basics laid out by Pope St. Pius X and urge the "resist-yet-recognize" folks to compare and then decide with Pius and all the true Popes as well as the infallible, perennial Magisterium of the Church: Modernism is heresy; Ratzinger, and those before him-Wojtyla, Luciani, Montini and Roncalli - all Modernists. Ergo, they are all heretics and could not be true popes! Period!
On Wednesday, September 3 we celebrate the Feast of the holy Pontiff Pope Saint Pius X who was such a crusader against Modernism, the "synthesis of all heresies." Last year we commemorated the centennial anniversary of two of his landmark papal decrees warning the faithful of the dangers of this insidious heresy. Lamentabili Sane on July 3 and on September 8 his landmark encyclical Pascendi Dominic Gregis against Modernism, that would be reinforced three years later on September 1, 1910 with the mandatory Oath Against Modernism which the conciliar Modernists, beginning with Giovanni Montini, did away with, thus exposing himself and all others who complied as enemies of God for their rejection of Catholic truth and tradition. In recalling St. Pius X's life and studying his encyclicals and papal decrees, it is as if he had seen ahead of time what would occur in his beloved Church and so tried to warn the faithful and the hierarchy. In honor of the legacy of this saintly Pontiff, we present a detailed biography of the man the kind of shepherd so sorely missing today; We can only hope and pray that someday, in God's time, He will lift up a true shepherd devoted to upholding the Apostolic Traditions as St. Pius X was and who did all in his power to safeguard the Sacred Deposit of the Faith For more about this cardinal from northern Italy, see The Story of St. Pius X
God raised up a prophetic pontiff in the holy Giuseppe Sarto as St. Pius X. If only we had listened and obeyed.
Tom Droleskey highlights the essence of this saintly Successor of Peter, writing "The humble farm boy from Riese, who served in the cattle trading center of Tombolo and used his gentle demeanor to extract from the men in that rough and tumble community a promise to refrain from cursing and using God's name in vain in exchange for his running a night school to teach them how to read and write, noted in his first encyclical letter, E Supremi, October 4, 1903, that he wanted to use gentleness in dealing with the problems of the day. Faced with the obstinate boldness of the Modernists, however, Pope Saint Pius X, the pope of early First Communion and frequent Communions thereafter, the pope who loved children and wanted to see them instructed by means of the Catechism whose production he supervised, yes, this gentle pastor of souls, had to resort to the full force of the papacy to assess and to denounce the errors of Modernists and Modernism." Tom explains in his magnificent summa he has redacted over the last few years, Modernism's Eternal Foe, Our Eternal Friend
