JOHN XXIII MIGHT BE BEATIFIED WITHIN A YEARVATICAN CITY, JUL 27 (ZENIT).- At the same time that Mother Teresa's beatification process opened in Calcutta, John XXIII's closed in Rome. Pope John Paul II hopes to beatify the Pope who opened Vatican II on September 3 of the Jubilee Year 2000. All that is lacking in the formal process, is the Pope's recognition of one of the miracles attributed to Roncalli. A medical panel has already described the cure of a religious as "inexplicable."
