CATHOLIC ALLIANCE SEEKS TO INFORM VOTERSROME, AUG 4 (ZENIT).- The Catholic Alliance, a non-partisan citizens movement in the United States, has a new web site: http://www.catholicvote.org. The purpose of the site is to inform Catholic voters about electoral issues with a bearing on Catholic teaching and faith. While the Church does not formally endorse candidates or parties, Catholics are called to be responsible in choosing political leaders who will support morality, freedom of religion, etc. The site provides a wide variety of information, including "Faith and Culture" magazine. The Chairman of Catholic Alliance, Dennis Lynch, points out that no U.S. President has been elected in the last 25 years without winning a majority of Catholics, hence Catholics have a serious responsibility to inform themselves.
