R.I.P.
Fr. Frederick Schell, S.J.
1916 - 2002
Obituary Tribute by Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey to a great Traditional priest who passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2002 in the Los Angeles area. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, October 4 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 9621 Bixby in Garden Grove, California with the Requiem Mass there on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Our Lord is so very merciful. He permits us weak vessels of clay enough time here in this vale of tears to learn how stupid we have been in the past, to see how others cooperated with the graces made available to them to see clearly the state of the Church and of the world. This gift of divine mercy is ineffable and gratuitous, thoroughly unmerited.

We're Back on a Daily Basis and Rarin' to go!
With today's issue we resume daily publication of The DAILY CATHOLIC after a long summer hiatus. We pick up with our regular Tuesday offering of columns and features plus we are pleased to introduce a new columnist - or should I say homilist to the cadre of excellent columnists contributing to this publication. Father Louis Campbell's Sunday Sermons under the column title of "Qui legit, intelligat", which will run every Friday for the upcoming Sunday. He will provide another for the same Sunday in each Monday's issue, plus sermons for Holy Days of Obligation.
In addition, we resume daily profiles on the Saint or Saints of the Day in the Traditional Calendar, which is the only Proper of the Saints recognized by The DAILY CATHOLIC in accordance with the Traditional Latin Rite. Therefore, while the Novus Ordo may celebrate the feast of Saint Therese of Lisieux, we recognize her feast on October 3rd as established in the Church before the novelties of Vatican II and the reforms that have so watered down the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. Today we celebrate the Feast of Saint Remigius, Bishop and Confessor who is ultimately responsible for France being the eldest daughter of the Church for it was St. Remi who converted the King of the Franks Clovis.
As significant as that event was in Church annals, the decline over the past several decades is alarming and Dr. Ed Ciaccio checks in with an eye-opening article on the situation in France today. It is not promising and only prayer and a return to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church will save the eldest daughter of the Church.
We also resume Dr. Tom Droleskey's G.I.R.M. Warfare series - "The Germs of G.I.R.M." today. Tom also offers (to the left on this page) a stirring, heart-felt tribute to Father Frederick Schell, a dedicated Jesuit priest who stayed the course his Order's founder set. Fr. Schell never compromised, never caved to the novelties and changes of Vatican II. He steadfastly always strove to uphold the Truths and Traditions no matter the cost. There are many Fr. Schells still out there, but like this wonderful padre, they too are getting old and may not be with us long. The Church's gravest crisis could very well be that if more younger priests do not wake up and embrace the tried and true Tridentine True! Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - the Mass for all Ages, the revolutionists could be successful in erasing the truths and devotions that have sustained saints and sinners for 2000 years. Truly the battle rages on and we need to reload with even more prayer and sacrifice.
For the most recent columns, articles, features and series carried in The DAILY CATHOLIC, go to our CREDO & CULTURE section where you'll find thumbnail descriptions of each. We are in the process of changing servers and you may experience some problems during this changeover. We apologize in advance and assure you we will do all in our power to stay on-line during this time. We also want to publicly thank those few souls who have answered our call for help. God bless you. We can only pray that more will be touched by the Holy Ghost and pledge a monthly donation. While The DAILY CATHOLIC may be experiencing financial woes because donation pledges have been down, our enthusiasm and zeal for bringing you the uncompromising Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church will never wane. That you can be assured of!

Christ or chaos
With this issue, we resume the well-received and much anticipated commentaries by Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey on the General Instructions of the Roman Missal (G.I.R.M.) which have helped immensely in opening the eyes of so many Catholics as to what has been truly lost. Today he enumerates the many reasons why the chameleon-like Novus Ordo is nothing but disorder in The New Order=Disorder.
"Qui legit, intelligat"
Though normally we would run this on Mondays, since we are resuming daily publication today we are bringing you the inaugural sermon for this publication from Father Louis Campbell, a Traditional priest at St. Jude's Shrine in Texas. His homily is for this past Sunday, both the 19th Sunday After Pentecost and the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel. Tomorrow we will bring you Father's sermon for the 19th Sunday, but today we present his homily honoring the Dedication of St. Michael in "For it must needs be that scandals come."
Liturgy of the Saints Today is the Simple Feast of a Confessor - Saint Remigius, Bishop, Confessor and "Apostle of the Franks" who lived from 437 to 530 and is the holy man who laid the foundation for France to become the "eldest daughter of the Church" through uncompromising orthodoxy of the True Faith in converting pagans. including his landmark conversion of King Clovis. For more, see Saint Remigius.
