During this Third Week of Advent, the Greater Antiphons begin in anticipation of Christ's coming. It is also the time of Ember Days for Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this week and the Traditional Feast of Saint Thomas the Apostle, the one who coined the famous exclamation, "My Lord, and my God.".

Requiescat in pace Father Salvatore Franco 1926 - 2002
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey pays tribute to a holy priest who lighted the way to Christ for so many and who appropriately passed on to his Heavenly reward on the feast of St. Lucy, the saint of the light lucia. He was a relentless defender of the Truths in upholding the Traditions and saying the Tridentine Mass. His efforts and encouragement, and holy example and charity for others in the mold of St. John Vianney, will be missed by those souls he touched as Tom pays tribute to a friend and confessor - Fr. Salvatore Franco in

FEATURED IN THIS THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT ISSUE:
"Qui legit, intelligat" Father Louis Campbell's sermon for Gaudete Sunday shows that liturgically the Church rejoices at the proximity of the Messiah's coming. Realistically, She laments for the modern Church is not ready for His coming. Alas, the conciliar Church might well not recognize Him for the reformers of Vatican II have strayed so from the Truths and Traditions that Our Lord's Own words in Luke 18: 8 would be fulfilled, "When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find, think you, faith on earth?". Father wonders as he laments how even the Pope has twisted the meaning of St. Augustine's words to conform to his humanist agenda. The proof is in the evidence of the kind of peace we have today; not even the worldly peace that John Paul envisioned. Rather we have a crumbling "City of Man" primarily because they have abandoned the "City of God" as Father Louis explains in The Gospel of Peace
Shears and Tears of a Lamb If it is the Third Week of Advent then it must be time for Ember Days preceding Christmas. Catharine Lamb reminds all why Holy Mother Church in her wisdom established Ember Days and asks aloud how and why the Conciliar Church would ever abandon the penitential Ember Days that mirror both the Liturgical season and the seasons of nature. With the elimination of Ember Days in the lax Newchurch, we can truly see how the Vatican II ecumenicrats are stranded in the harsh winter of isolation for they have shunned the parkas of penance for the pleasures of the world. Catharine explains fasting and abstinence and why it is so important in our spiritual lives; so much so that she issues An Ember Day Challenge.
Appreciating the Precious Gift of our Faith
In this issue, before continuing with the Sacraments after the first of the new year, we bring you a reminder of the true Catholic purpose and stipulations for penance, fasting and abstinence, much of it taken from our catechesis series from My Catholic Faith. We specifically focus on Ember Days since this week we observe the three Ember Days correlating with the Third Sunday of Advent mirroring the season of winter as we share The Meaning of Ember Days in Advent .
Doctors of the Church
The twentieth Doctor in this chronological series on the Doctors of the Church was a man who turned his back on the world and took over 30 with him to devout their life to God. He built monasteries throughout western Europe; was the confidante of popes and kings, beggars and paupers; preached the Crusades, never compromising the Truths and Traditions. He was responsible for the revival of the Cistercian Order. This holy and mystic Abbot from France composed one of the most beautiful prayers ever created - the Memorare. He was
Saint Bernard of Clairvaux.
Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey shows how the acquiescence by the Vatican to placate the progressive revolutionaries out to destroy the Church and her traditions has created a multi-headed monster that can no longer be tamed. Rome's track record in matters of making the rule now the exception, while the exceptions, the novelties, the profane have become the rule in most cases does not bode well for those hoping to preserve the cherished traditions in his column "Excuse me, Father, while I look for my letter from Rome!" .
White Smoke, Black Fire!
The last episode until after Christmas of "White Smoke, Black Fire!" brings us to the morning of November 5th. When Stephen realizes Cardinal Macelli is plotting to dispatch Cardinal Gregory Zachmunn, time is of the essence as new crises arise. Swiss Guard Riage Benziger gives his life to protect the Pope from the nefarious Legion of the Basilisk as Stephen and a badly injured, bleeding Pat try to escape detection within the hallowed halls of the Vatican in Chapter Nine, Episode Four
Pro Life Prescriptions
Dr. Frank Joseph alerts us to be careful to get the whole story. He takes the popular ego-ridden Fox News commentator and celebrity Bill O'Reilly to task for not fully knowing his faith or facts when confronting the enemy of the unborn - representatives of NOW, Planned Parenthood and a Protestant preacher - in his own 'Spin Zone." The zone he was in doesn't jive with what he, as a Catholic must believe and profess. In his condescending to the pro-aborts' false arguments with no factual basis for their lies, he has compromised the truths that Jesus taught, weakening in the viewer's mind the unyielding pro-life message that life begins at conception and abortion is murder. Frank explains in his column "The 'Life' of O'Reilly!?"
The Germs of G.I.R.M. In this issue we bring you part sixty-two of Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's well-received, thought-provoking series on G.I.R.M. warfare as he continues analyzing and commenting on the ambiguity and errors in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal In his last installment until next year, Tom focuses on paragraphs 164 through 170 and how the aftermath of liturgical abuse has led to the great "American Amenism" to everything but the true nature of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Options are provided for every novelty imaginable while the profound blessing and the Last Gospel are abandoned so Tom, Dick and Mary can make their announcements. Tom comments in Options make the Sacrificial Nature of the Mass Obsolete
Traditional Thoughts
Co-author with Christopher Ferrara of the runaway best-seller The Great Façade , Dr. Thomas E. Woods, Jr. points out - in an article reprinted from the Decemer 1st issue of The Remnant with the kind permission of editor Michael J. Matt - that our “nonjudgmental” society renders moral judgments all the time – in favor of feminism, egalitarianism, and multiculturalism. Tom asks then why Catholics are forbidden to make judgments in favor of objective truth in his article Judge Not?
IMPORTANT ARTICLES YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED LAST WEEK:
Catholic PewPOINT
Editor Michael Cain coined a word that sums up all the heresies, error-filled novelties, and half-truths being spewed about by the Vaticantwoarians or V2arians. It may be a mouthful to pronounce, but then, as he pointed out, neo-Catholics have swallowed any and everything over the past 40 years in their blind obedience to those very men who have plunged the Conciliar Church into Spiritual Bankruptcy! He explained in
Vaticantwoarianism.
On the BattleLine
Atila Sinke Guimarães, a foremost authority on the causes and effects of Vatican II, called Cardinal Avery Dulles, S.J. to task for his statements which put Dulles in direct contradiction with another Jesuit cardinal, a holy man who is recognized as one of the great Doctors of the Church - St. Robert Bellarmine. Atila respectfully asked two questions of the modern day Jesuit in seeking a reply from his Eminence. Atila and Catholics everywhere would like to know if there is something 'extra' to the Dogma extra Ecclesia nulla salus not revealed until Vatican II in his column Progressivist Polemics.
Traditional Insight Mario Derksen continued his series on the controversy that surrounds "the illicit Episcopal Ordinations of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre." In part four, Mario presented arguments to prove that canonically both in the 1917 Code and the 1983 there was a state of necessity - a dire emergency - for the Archbishop's actions and therefore His Excellency did not even violate the letter of canon law since the salvation of souls always takes top priority in all aspects of spiritual care as Mario equated in Salvation of souls is the paramount necessity!
FOCUS In this issue we focus on a few most recent occurrences that author Mark Fellows documents and which appears in the most recent issue of Catholic Family News. Having received the gracious permission from editor John Vennari to reprint it, Mark focused the neo-Catholics' desperation to label Traditionalists as those with a "lidless eye." We should take that as a compliment for the "lidless eye" refuses to be distracted by the blinking distractions of novelty, remaining focused on things of Heaven. The Tridentine Mass is the closest thing to Heaven on earth and so the "Lidless Ones" fix their gaze on this most august Holy Sacrifice for the salvation of souls. The problems, as Mark illustrated, is that anti-Traditional neos can't budge their lids open to see the light, so blinded by novelty and the spin of the Vaticantwoarians. Mark explained with his article
On Lidless Eyes and Lepers.
