  Doctors of the Church
We continue each Monday with a series begun Easter Monday in profiling each of the 33 great Doctors of the Church. Today we feature the holy man from Syria, the man beloved by his people and one called the "Harp of the Holy Ghost" and a deacon who combatted heretical sects and Roman emperors, not by raising his voice in anger, but through Syriac poetry in winning the people to the Faith. His works are integral to the Syrian Church. We are speaking of Saint Ephrem

 Catholic PewPOINT
Today editor Michael Cain plunges right into the clean-up work necessary to rid the Church of the filth and muck created over the past 40 years. He expresses how this hopeful task is possible by presenting the solution necessary to clear up and clean out the problems that have so stopped up the Church since Vatican II. It can't be done by amateurs. Professional 'plumbers' are the only answer, men who have the integrity of the Faith to drive the demons from the clogged-up drains of reason and orthodoxy. Who are these specialized experts? He lays out the blueprint in his commentary Time to call in the 'Roto-Rooters' of Truth and Tradition!
 Defending Catholic Truth and Tradition
Today we begin a series that will, in effect, begin in earnest next Monday when Atila Sinke Guimar„es, with Dr. Marian Therese Horvat assisting in translation and editing, will publish an orthodox, Traditional, true Roman Catholic response in seven installments (from April 15-May 6) to the flawed document "The Hebrew People in its Holy Scriptures and the Christian Bible" issued late last year by the Vatican's Pontifical Biblical Commission. It created quite a stir with a horror story in the New York Times in late January. Guess what? Those horror stories are true! The only current English translation is the Preface, written by none other than the President of the Biblical and Theological Commission and the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. And so we present the Preface to The Hebrew People...

"By their fruits you shall know them"
Tuesday we will continue the scripture-based piece by David May, first published in The Remnant which zeroes in on the problems of sodomy in the post-conciliar church. This series is intended to expose the bad fruits of Vatican II. The title is taken from Our Lord's undeniable words in Matthew 7: 18-20 in which He said, "A good tree cannot yield bad fruit, neither can a bad tree yield good fruit. Every tree that yieldeth not good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.". Through the good graces of editor Michael Matt, we will present in Tuesday's issue the second part of May's excellent essay Homosexuality, Pedophilia and the Priesthood.

 Traditional Thought
On Tuesday we present an article by Chris Ferrara who steps to the plate to launch one fast ball of facts after another at the wobbly-kneed Wanderer in response to the latter's attacks on Traditional Roman Catholicism and the resistance to post-conciliar novelties. Now with the latest revelations The Wanderer can only hide in the dugout of doubt, especially after being struck out by one of their own pitchers Pat Buchanan as we present an article first run in The Remnant and which editor Michael Matt has graciously permitted us to reprint in Tuesday's issue in Scalia and Buchanan "Suspend Obedience" to Novel Papal Teaching
On Tuesday, Tim Chichester, head of the Catholic Family Association of America, states the solidly Catholic position that the failure of bishops to consistently and loudly teach that it is a grave sin to knowingly vote for pro-abortion politicians has resulted in their nurturing spiritual Frankensteins such as Gray Davis, a mold of which must be broken by the shepherds being shepherds and protecting their flocks by publicly denying the sacraments to those who persist in sin as he explains in Spiritual Frankensteins. For last week's third part of Mark Fellow's article, see Man With A Mission..
 White Smoke, Black Fire!
Tuesday we begin Part III - "The Shadowing" with the first episode of chapter seven in which Niki arrives in Rome inside a coffin in the bowels of a C-130 transport. In this episode we meet for the first time a very pertinent character who will play a major role in the fight between the forces of good and the Legion of the Basilisk - Dr. Makuta Ogidi who discovers Niki hiding with the dead. For last week's sixth episode of Chapter Six, see Episode Six

 "Father, forgive them..."
In Wednesday's issue we bring you a commentary containing confidential e-mails which reveal that the cardinal of Los Angeles has no concern for souls but only his own hide. It illustrates clearly that the sooner he is decardinalized or defrocked the better as the media tide swells for his removal. We present what the media has uncovered which could truly incriminate Cardinal Roger Mahony both legally and especially morally, clearly indicating he is not fit to be a shepherd as you will see in Wolves in Shepherds' Clothing! For the piece in this series from last week, see The root of the problem!

"Feed My sheep" In Wednesday's issue, after examining incriminating e-mails from the LA Archdiocese, we lament that it is being run more like Enron than a Catholic spiritual entity. And what of scandal? We fear many will overlook the gravity of the erosion that has been allowed to take place under the watch of prelates like Cardinal Roger Mahony as we explain with Damage Control!
 Pro Life Prescriptions
This Wednesday Dr. Frank Joseph illustrates how the ruthlessness of the old wild west is alive today for the culture of death wranglers are pushing blatant bias for abortion as pro-abort judges have clearly indicated on all counts! The culprits have been caught in the act and they've escaped time and time again. Where'd they go? They went thattaway! Towards perdition, pardner. Yep, the pro-life posse has very little chance against the pro-abort vigilanties who ride the range of the judicial system as bounty hunters against the unborn and the unsuspecting! He will explain in his column Wanted: Dead or Aborted! For his column last week, see A Sad State of Affairs!
 Simply Sheen
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen deals with a topic that is very much on everyone's minds these days: war! He puts it in perspective and relates how today there are more wars and closer together and that whatever peace we might experience is just an interval between wars. And to think the Archbishop wasn't even taking about the war of Vatican II! He will explain Wednesday in War and peace
 Echoes of True Catholicism
On Thursday Dr. Marian Therese Horvat clearly illustrates that in their ridiculous quest for adaptation, Vatican II has done everything it can to extinguish the flame of reverence and sacrifice, casting off the wax of transcendency and tradition for the instant smokeless void of convenience. In so doing, they have tried to snuff out why God puts such importance on the symbols of His Love. as she explains in her column Votive Candles, Fire, and the Love of God.
Appreciating the Precious Gift of our Faith
Thursday we focus on examining our consciences prior to confession so that we can readily recall our transgressions and better help us understand why they are sinful and can work to avoiding those near occasions of sin in the future. Who needs a psychiatrist when you have the healing Sacrament of Penance. The only problem is that today it' easier, not cheaper, but easier to find a psychiatrist than a confessor - even on Saturday afternoon. We present the second part of the Sacrament of Penance, in our 268th installment , Examination of Conscience. For the final installment on the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar last week, see The Sacrament of Penance
 The Great Sacrilege
Father James F. Wathen, O.S.J. has granted permission to publish his entire work which was first published by Tan Books in 1972, and which we urge you to read for everything he wrote back then is backed by the solid depositum fidei - the Sacred Deposit of the Faith and still holds true. It takes up where the Ottaviani Intervention left off as you'll see in Thursday's issue when Father addresses the whole facade behind the over-exaggerated Rite of Peace that has become an excuse to elevate the social instead of the Immolated Lamb as Father will explain in the third section of Part Fourteen of Chapter Four The Rite of Peace. For the second section, see The Rite of Peace.
Christ or chaos In Friday's issue Dr. Thomas Droleskey, the proud father of little Lucy Mary Norma Droleskey whose mom Sharon is recovering, takes time from changing diapers to resume his well-read series on G.I.R.M. Warfare. He picks up where he left off, commenting on paragraph 91 without getting too nauseated about the concept being rammed down the throats of Catholics that Communion is unity of community. He clearly debunks this heretical concept with Pius XII's masterful encyclical Mediator Dei as he points out in his 42nd installment, Solving the missing Mystical mystery. For Tom's last installment in this series, see Madness and mayhem!.
 Traditional Insights
On Friday Mario Derksen will continue with his series on the The Humanism of John Paul II with his second installment, expressing amazement at the contradictions of this Pope and incredibility at the gullibility of so many to follow this pied piper of ecumenism despite what the Church has always taught regarding false religions and a false peace. Sadly the post-conciliar church has so blurred the line of this unchangeable truth that conversion is on the back burner in favor of compromise as Mario explains in part two in his column Friday The Assisi Interfaith Prayer Scandals - II For Mario's column last week, see The Assisi Interfaith Prayer Scandals - I
 Exspectans exspectavimus Ecclesia Dei
On Friday, we bring you a more definitive response from Bishop Bernard Fellay of the Society of Saint Pius X in Econe, who tells the reader to be careful what you wish for, you might get it and be far worse off than you were before. He is referring to the corner the Campos priests might well have painted themselves into considering the track record of the post-conciliarists. It is one predicament he does not intend the SSPX to venture into. Time will tell as he explains in The Campos Situation.

"The Holy Ghost was not promised to the successors of Peter that by His revelation they might disclose new doctrine, but that by His help they might guard sacredly the revelation transmitted through the apostles and the deposit of Faith, and might faithfully set it forth." (D).

Today in Church History
Pope Paul III decrees the Apocrypha for the Council of Trent

Pope Paul III     On this date 455 years ago in 1546 in the aftermath of the devastating Protestant Reformation, Pope Paul III set the Church on the "comeback trail" by decreeing at the 19th Ecumenical Council, better known as the Council of Trent, the Apocrypha. These were original writings from the early years on religious matters outside the canon of Scripture which are accepted by Holy Mother Church and which would be considered as the basis for many of the documents at the Council of Trent.

In each issue we will feature a special prayer to enhance your Catholic devotions

The Annunciation
This special feast is the first in the cycle of the life of Jesus and the particular attribute is submitting totally to the Will of God as evidenced by the Blessed Mother's reply, her fiat: "Thy will be done" (Luke 1:26-38). The feast commemorates both the Archangel Gabriel's announcement to the Mary that she would be the Mother of God if she would accept and the Incarnation of the Son of God. Celebrated as the first Joyful Mystery, this feast was firmly established in the Liturgical Calendar as early as the the fifth century with its date being determined in light of the nine month pregnancy period by the date of Christmas on December 25th

Prayer for the Annunciation

Oh God, Who wast pleased that Thy Word should take Flesh in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the message of an Angel, grant to us Thy suppliants that we, who believe her to be truly the Mother of God, may be aided by her intercession before Thee. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ forever and ever. Amen.
