The Feast of the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth

"My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; because he has regarded the lowliness of His handmaid; for, behold, heceforth all generations shall call me blessed; because He Who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name; and His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear Him. He has shown might with His arm, He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent empty away. He has given help to Israel, His servant, mindful of mercy - Even as He spoke to our fathers - to Abraham and to his seed forever." Luke 1: 46-55 - Magnificat

Help Christ's precious innocents

"The above inspirational calling card was inspired by the beautiful artwork of Shannon Wirrenga of Bismarck, ND. Entitled "I Knew You" and copyrighted in 1998, it is patterned after the Scriptural passage of Jeremiah 1: 5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" - and superimposed on the colorful, inspirational plastic calling card above. If you would like to have one of these actual size calling cards, read today's column."
Today Joe Dalton shares the excitement of what he and Jane have to offer you the reader. Theirs is similar to the attitude of Victor Kiam, who passed away a few days ago. He was the president of Remington Razor who was famous for saying, "I liked the product so much I bought the company." Well, Joe and Jane love children so much, not only their own seven kids with one more on the way, but also the millions of precious innocent preborns that they formed Pro Life Communications and earmarked all profits towards the pro life cause. Joe outlines the benefits of signing up with Pro Life Communications and the peace of mind and heart knowing not one red cent goes towards abortion, but all pro life causes. That cannot be said of ATT, Sprint, MCI, Horizon, or any of those phone companies you see advertised ad nauseum offering .05 a minute. It's a catch the leaves you holding the bag and a big bill, plus you have no idea where your money goes. With Joe and Jane's efficient communications organization, you are assured where it goes. Joe ads that assurance of another famous ad you've seen constantly for The Men's Wearhouse, George Zimmer: "I guarantee it!" For Joe's column, How Pro Life Communications Benefits You! , see FAITH IN THE FAMILY

6th Precept of the Church
The family that prays together stays together
part two
"What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder."
Today in our 230th installment of our catechetical series on My Catholic Faith we continue the Sixth Commandment of the Church, "To observe the laws of the Church concerning Marriage". Marriage begins and ends with family. There is no better role model to emulate than the Holy Family. We outline the duties of husband and wife and cover the severity of splitting spouses through divorce. Today there are so many misconceptions about the stringent rules of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Many are under the false assumption that if it doesn't work out they can walk out and just get an annulment. They forget Our Lord's binding words in Matthew 19: 6, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder." Today many cohabitate or are separated and date others and still think they can go to Holy Communion on Sundays. Wrong! The problem is many pastors are afraid to hurt feelings and once again they fail in their mission. Rather than pleasing God, they seek to please man by appeasing him. For part two on the Sixth Precept of the Church, see APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH.

Bishop Joseph Gossman: We implore you to call North Carolina Governor Michael Easley to task for his pitiful and sorrowful pro-abort stance.

Today's Herod's Hero is the Democratic Governor from North Carolina Mike Easley, who, in his first term, has continued to promote the culture of death just as he did as Attorney General of the State. We call on him to repent and for his Bishop in Raleigh Bishop F. Joseph Gossman to inform him he has incurred latae sententiae - the "Bell, Book, and Candle" if he will not hear even the Church. We beg of the Bishops, to stand up for the Roman Catholic Church, to exact the discipline all Catholics are expected to follow. By Easley's pathetic pro-abortion stance, he has shown an alarming consistency to turn away from God by showing disdain for Catholic doctrine and being a willing accomplice to satan. We implore Governor Easley to amend his ways, to turn away from embracing the culture of death with so little sensitivity and mercy for the lives of millions of unborn. For another betrayer who seeks to perpetuate the culture of death and slay the innocents, see HEROD'S HEROES

Novena in preparation for Pentecost

In preparation for the celebration of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday next Sunday, the "Birthday" of the Church, we provide a Nine-Day Novena to help you prepare and call upon the Advocate, the Sanctifier for strength and the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. For the Novena, see NOVENA

An Urgent Plea to Pope John Paul II, 264th Successor of Peter: Please do not change the Papacy as the modernists would want, but leave it intact as Christ instructed in Matthew 16: 17-19.

With the Extraordinary Consistory of Cardinals now completed and the evident intent of many to weaken the Papacy, we present the seventh part of an Urgent Plea to His Holiness Pope John Paul II not to succumb to the pressure of the progressivists and not to change the Papacy no matter how much pressure is put on him. We urge you to read this with a discerning heart as we near the Feast of Pentecost - the birthday of Holy Mother Church. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you in reading this respectful, but honest plea, and guide all prelates of the Church to maintain the true tenets, and guide the Keeper of the Keys to keep intact the Primacy of Peter. This is published with permission. It was compiled by (right to left above:) Atila Sinke Guimar„es, Dr. Marian Horvat, Michael J. Matt, and John Vennari. Guimar„es, a Brazilian scholar, has been researching this subject matter for twenty years and knows whereof he speaks. The authors back everything up with undeniable truths in their documentation. For part eight of this Open Letter to His Holiness, see PLEASE PRESERVE THE PRIMACY OF PETER

"And it came to pass, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe in her womb lept. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and cried with a loud voice, saying, 'Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb!' " Luke 1: 41-42

Pope Clement VIIHenry VIII Because Pope Clement VII hesitated, he couldn't stop a terrible schism

On this date 472 years ago in 1529, Pope Clement VII missed a golden opportunity to stop the schism in its tracks when he gathered the Papal Legates in Rome in order to curtail the actions of England's abrasive King Henry VIII. Because he failed to act at this time and let it mushroom out of control for the next several years, the schism became full blown. Had he leveled sanctions on Henry VIII at the time quite possibly the monarch might have compromised, but because the Pope waivered and waited, it weakened Holy Mother Church and allowed Henry's forces to gain strength. Could the same thing be happening today regarding the bishops not leveling sanctions on pro-abort politicians who claim to be 'Catholic'? The lure of evil!

"It is a fact that more crimes are committed in one year on television than in six major cities of the United States; a threat or an act of violence is enacted every two and one half minutes on children's television shows. In the end, the police always catch up with the criminal, thus giving a smattering of justice. It is now a mark of a simpleton to exhibit a naive surprise at the quantity of evil that is in the world. This major interest in crime indicates something new - namely, the obtrusiveness of evil. Added to this is the psychological fact that evil is pictured in someone else."
