"God loves a cheerful giver"

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, now as we near the Ascension, I pray that together we are reaching the heights of Heaven through the Queen of Heaven and Earth, Mary Most Holy, Our Mother, and Mother of the Church. May all of our prayers unite in one accord for the sake of the One True Faith.

Even though Michael and I began this ministry over ten years ago at the specific request of our Blessed Mother, we are discovering that today, all these years later, we are just really beginning the work that our Blessed Mother wished us to undertake for her Divine Son Jesus, and for His One True, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

That we have been called to undertake this ministry was never entered into lightly by either Michael or myself. We realized from the outset that God was asking much of us, much we didn't understand, or that we didn't grasp at that time, and thus before we gave our "fiat" to this apostolate, we were engulfed in much prayer, in begging the Divine Help of the Holy Spirit, and when we did say "yes," we did so knowing that we were only His instruments, and it was His strength, His Cross Itself, that would see this ministry through.

To this end, and for the continuation of The DAILY CATHOLIC, I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your prayers and for the trust you have placed in us. I want you to know that without those prayers, we would not still be working in the vineyard, for many have been the travails which have befallen us. Nonetheless, it is prayer from you, and on our own part, which has helped to stay the course, despite the countless persecutions and personal sufferings which have come our way, all of which were foretold to us by our Blessed Mother over ten years ago.

I want to personally thank all of you who have come to the aid of The DAILY CATHOLIC with financial alms. This charity has helped to meet certain on-going monthly bills which are obligatory in having a daily publication free of charge to all on the Internet in reaching out to every nation. Oh, and how satan and his legions have worked overtime to snatch even this from you, the readers, to whom we owe so much, and for whom we owe even more to Our Lord - for to those who are given much, much is expected.

We have very little, if any, worldly possessions. Michael and I spent a full year studying and preparing to take the personal vow of poverty, which we did with the advice and consent of our personal Spiritual Director, Fr. Al Svobodny, in December, 1991 after completing our Consecration to Mary from the Spiritual guidance of Saint Louis de Montfort. Since then, we have ever conformed our lives, and consequently the lives of our sons, to the confines of materialistic poverty that we might more freely drink of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, that we may never let our guard down, nor misstep in our faith, nor lead even one soul astray, for our Blessed Mother, in giving us this apostolate, made it very clear that we, as instruments, nevertheless, had great care over those to whom we presented the Truth of the Catholic Faith.

Thus, without your support financially over these years, and in the present crisis of finances, we cannot say "Thank You" sufficiently for your generosity. We cannot say these words sufficiently.

So, we offer to our dear Lord each and every one of you who have come to The DAILY CATHOLIC led by the Holy Spirit, and we beg of Him to reward you a hundredfold in this life, and above all, in the next. He cannot be outdone in generosity, and in this we find great comfort when trying to thank everyone for all that they do.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, The DAILY CATHOLIC has barely begun to embark upon the course Our Lord has desired of us all these years. In truth, my dear brothers and sisters, as the Holy Spirit awakens our souls even more, Michael and I realize that we have, these last ten plus years, been learning the ropes, learning to let God to steer the course of The DAILY CATHOLIC to accomplish the greatest good. We have been learning, and will continue to learn, to let God do the steering, the writing, the editorials, and my poor column, while getting out of His Way.

In that regard, my dear brothers and sisters, I must implore you all the more to help us. Oh! Yes, we need prayers. All that we can get, all that Heaven can receive, which is limitless.

But we still desperately need your financial help. We have kept all costs to a minimum with The DAILY CATHOLIC. Even so, there are repairs to computers, upgrades that are vitally necessary, and monthly charges for Internet web hosting, dial-up connections, etc., that do not go away. The bare minimum that The DAILY CATHOLIC needs is $1,000.00 per month for operating expenses mentioned here. Neither Mike nor I receive one penny of a salary for this work, nor would we desire one. When this same publication was A CALL TO PEACE in print for seven years, there was a very modest stipend, well below poverty level, that Mike took as Executive Director of MIR-A-CALL Center, and as Editor-in-Chief. Since April 1997 there has been no stipend.

Now, on a fixed income due to disability, Mike and I continue to strive toward that goal which God has for this apostolate while praying for the generosity of spirit to move His children to assist us to meet the minimum costs. These present-day costs are so greatly reduced from what was and would now be the cost of a monthly newspaper in print.

Yes, some have not found their way to the Internet. Some will not. Yet, how many others are able to find us and seek us out for the Truth of the Catholic Faith in this time of crisis and Great Apostasy.

God guides all things, my dear brothers and sisters, and it is to our great advantage in all things of this world, and of the next, if we allow Him to guide us. Therefore, as the poorest of his children and the poorest of his messengers, I implore you to be generous to this Apostolate, not for our sake, but for the sake of Holy Mother Church in these End Times.

Even only $5.00 a month from each person as a pledge would do wonders for helping toward its upkeep and reaching so many more souls. If each person touched by the Holy Spirit every day in reading these pages would send but $10.00 a month, how much more we would be able to do for the Love of God! Whatever you can send, be it large or small, the reward of that donation will be made known in Heaven, where all shall rejoice. We ask nothing more than your help as the Holy Spirit directs you, and as your own financial means permit. There is nothing "small" with God. The generosity of the heart is what He looks at, and in that same spirit of generosity, He also opens the financial way for you to help, and keep helping.

Consider Our Lord's words in Mark 12: 43-44 and Luke 21: 3-4, "Amen I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who have been putting money into the treasury. For they all have put in out of their abundance; but she out of her want has put in all that she had - all that she had to live on."

Does this mean we are calling on the poor widows to send us a donation, giving up something they need? Definitely not. In fact we encourage those who are hurting financially to send their alms through prayer, not money. But how many are there out there who have been given much in temporal goods and are stingy in sharing? There can be so much soothing of the soul by a generous heart. Saint Francis of Assisi paved the way in showing how God works through others' generosity to spread His Word, just as Christ asks all of us to do in Mark 16: 15. At the same time, as Paul reinforces in 2 Corinthians 9: 6-9, "Mark this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each one give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or from compulsion, for 'God loves a cheerful giver.' And God is able to make all grace abound in you, so that always having ample means, you may abound in every good work, as it is written [in Psalms 111: 9] 'He has scattered abroad and has given to the poor, his justice remains forever.'"

May the Mother of God during this, her special month of May, ever guard, guide and keep you beneath her Immaculate Mantle, and may she always lead you unerringly to the very heart of her Divine Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave us the priceless gift of our ONE TRUE FAITH, which we must strive together to defend and uphold against any and all heresies, in this the time of great crisis and Apostasy.

May God bless you abundantly in all things, and please know that I keep you in all of my very humble little prayers each day, and ask you to do the same for my family and for me.

Your very little sister in Christ, who loves and prays for you,

Cyndi
