Our country is consecrated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Dogma that declared infallible on December 8, 1854 by Pope Pius IX that Mary was conceived without sin. Sin is greater than ever today and in these times when the world, the flesh and the devil so furiously trying to choke the life out of so many, when we are embroiled in physical and spiritual warfare, we turn to Our Lady in supplication as Mother of Prompt Succor, pleading with her to preserve the United States and return this beloved country, founded upon God's principles that "all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with the unalienable [inalienable] rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Today all three are greatly jeopardized. We ask Our Lady to intercede to her Divine Son Jesus to open hearts so God can truly bless America. We turn to prayer for answers in asking the Blessed Mother's intercession with a special Nine Day Novena.

The Rosary of Mary is our most powerful weapon. Click on the Rosary button above to recite the full Rosary in either English or Latin.

First Lateran Council
The first General Council after the Great Eastern Schism was held in Rome for the first time at the Lateran Basilica in 1123 and convened by Pope Callistus II. At issue was the Lay Investiture controversy between secular power and ecclesial power. The Council confirmed the Concordat of Worms that had been signed the year before between Emperor Henry V and Pope Callistus II. This assured all elections of prelates and abbots would be made by ecclesial authorities solely, with the Emperor having approval only in Germany. The Council declared priests in the Latin rite must remain celibate. For the full documents of the ninth Ecumenical Council see LATERAN ONE
Echoes of True Catholicism
Dr. Marian Horvat shows in "The Emancipation of Women" the deliberate destruction of the God-given feminine mystique by the 'femi-nazis' of liberalism, spurred on by Hollywood propaganda, which have helped destroy the nucleus of the family and upset the sociological, psychological and physiological, as well as spiritual balance of God's natural order for procreation and the responsibility of the wife in her role as procreator with her husband. In truth, the results have been disastrous in making women into male clones as Dr. Horvat points out in part nine of The Egalitarian Revolution
The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart
With this issue we begin the excellent work by Father Joseph McDonnell, S.J. first written during the Pontificate of Pope Saint Pius X and which, now out of print, Catholic Family News has given us permission to reprint following their publishing of it. It is a beautiful meditation and commentary that should encourage more devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we begin Part One
Catholic PewPOINT
There was a song that debuted about the same time that the Church began to abandon Tradition in the 60's. It was 'Where have all the flowers gone?'. Editor Michael Cain asks where have all the customs gone? Where have conversions gone? Where have all the vocations gone? Has the true missionary spirit of the Church been lost? Evidence of this is overwhelming, especially in light of the devastation in China as he points out in his commentary Trying to corral a wild bull in the China shop!
"Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do"
To tie in with Monday's Feast of Saint Francis Xavier, the Apostle of the Orient, Jonathan Tuttle, a Virginian columnist for The Remnant has written a factual piece that should rock the rafters of the conservative mind-set among neo-Catholics in respect to the Holy Father's most recent apology and cowtowing to Communist China. We urge all to read this with an open mind and explain to us why? Why is the Pope abandoning those who died for the Faith in the Far East? Why has he turned his back on Taiwan? Why is he compromising with atheists and satanists? We are grateful to Michael Matt for permission to publish this mind-numbing and heart-tearing article Who's Sorry, Mao?
The Sanity of Sanctity
In this issue we debut a new series which outlines a return to reverence which leads to holiness. This series will include articles that address this issue. Through the good graces and permission of John Vennari of Catholic Family News we present the first set of articles, with part one of an excellent feature by Cornelia R. Ferreira on Our Blessed Mother and the Return to Holiness
Standing with the Church Militant On the BattleLine
Atila Sinke Guimar„es points out a shocking truth that Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger might be more inclined to change in the Church than conservatives were counting on for he is quoted as leaning toward the progressive ideas of retired Archbishop John Quinn in the attempt to change the Papacy. Don't believe it? Read his column Strange bedfellows?!
Simply Sheen
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen emphasizes that one can never be happy on the outside, no matter how many riches or fame he has gained, if he is not happy within. Conscience is a barometer for man to gage whether the means justifies the end - the final goal of everlasting life - as he briefly points out in Conscience keeps us focused on the ultimate goal
Christ or chaos
Dr. Tom Droleskey continues his series on G.I.R.M. Warfare - "The Germs of G.I.R.M" in responding to various paragraphs of the new General Instruction of the Roman Missal. This time he analyzes Paragraphs 69 through 71, asking if the intercessions after the Credo in the Novus Ordo have not divided rather than unifying the faithful for indeed the community is placed first and foremost above the individual soul as he explains in his 32nd installment The devisive elements of the New Mass
Precious Gift of our Faith
Catechetical Apologetic Series based on My Catholic Faith on the Most Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The 250th installment of "Appreciating the Precious Gift of the Faith" provides the answers of how we can restore the lost reverence for the Mass of the Faithful by adhering to the rubrics set in stone with part five The Pater Noster and Agnus Dei
Pro Life Prescriptions
Dr. Frank Joseph asks why all the uproar about sending in the clones when ethics and morals have already fled the ring in the culture of death circus. He pinpoints why the Democrats and Bishops will agree to ban human cloning: Not because cloned creatures are soulless and defy God's natural order. No! It's politically correct and their constituents don't want it. Currying favor and votes it's called as he shows in Cloning? What's next - the killing of Unborn Babies?
Liturgy of the Saints

The Great Sacrilege
Father James F. Wathen, O.S.J. has granted permission to publish his entire work which was first published by Tan Books in 1972, and which we urge you to read for everything he wrote back then is backed by the solid depositum fidei - the Sacred Deposit of the Faith and still holds true. It takes up where the Ottaviani Intervention left off as you'll see in Part Eight of Chapter Three - The "Authentic Tradition".
White Smoke, Black Fire!
The second episode of Chapter Four in Part II - "The Smoldering" finds Pat Gallagher face to face on the Field of Death with a person who will forever change his life and chart Pat and others on a path from which there is no turning back. Who is this mysterious Niki Andriopoulos? Follow the regular installments of this on-line novel to find out more as you are plunged into intrigue that will leave you hungering for the next episode.

Answer to last quiz: The Roman Basilica, that in former times the people of Rome gathered with the Pope for Holy Mass on the First Sunday of Advent, was the Basilica of Saint Mary Major because it is Our Lady who gave us her Divine Son Jesus and St. Mary Major holds the relics of the manger crib in which the Blessed Mother placed her Divine Child. For this reason the Holy Father would celebrate Christmas Eve and Midnight Mass at St. Mary Major as well. In former times the people and the Pope would gather again for Mass at St. Mary's on The Third Wednesday of Advent, Ember Wednesday. On the Second Sunday of Advent all would congregate at the Church of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem in the far southeast corner of Rome's Esquiline section. On Gaudete Sunday or the Third Sunday of Advent, St. Peter's Basilica was the chosen church as well as Ember Saturday. The Church of the Holy Apostles, located in the southern section of Rome's Quirinal, was the site chosen for Ember Friday and the Fourth Sunday of Advent. In the Christmas cycle the Lateran was not used at all and St. Paul's Outside-the-Walls only on the Feast of the Holy Innocents.
