Death of Pope Constantine who helped Spain maintain the faith and introduced the gesture of kissing the foot of St. Peter's statue. Born in Syria, he was elected on March 25, 708. During his seven year papacy he was carried off to Constantinople by force, yet used this to his advantage by bringing about some form of peace between the Church and the Byzantine Empire. He also encouraged the Christians of Spain in their fight against the infidels.

Death of Edward IV, King of England. His brother Richard becomes the "Protector" of Edward's son - twelve year-old Edward V.
