Pro-lifers have been a punching bag long enough! It's time to come out swinging and go for a knockout if the Pro-Life Candidate will just continually jab at the issue of abortion in telling it like it is! If so, the culture of death can go down for the count!

In today's issue Dr. Frank Joseph sees things slipping away chiefly because the pro-life candidate George W. Bush has dropped his boxing gloves on pro-life issues. What is he afraid of? Dr. Joseph says it's time to stop playing it close to the vest and open with a jab and a hook on the whole abortion issue, bringing to the match what abortion truly is - a brutal sport that ends in the murder of millions of innocents. It's far, far worse than the gladiator mismatches, even far worse in numbers than the horrible holocaust during World War II. Dr. Frank shows where Bush needs to counterpunch with what the essence of "right to choose" means: murder! "to kill their unborn babies!" Does a woman have a right to do that? Of course, not, and unless Bush comes out swinging, he'll go down for the count, taking with him countless innocents who never had a chance because he didn't take the opportunity to land the telling blow! Feast of the Korean Martyrs Saint Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and their companion martyrs
O God, You have created all nations and You are their salvation. In the land of Korea Your call to the Catholic Faith formed a people of adoption, whose growth You nurtured by the blood of Andrew, Paul and their companions. Through their martyrdom and their intercession grant us strenght that we too may remain faithful to Your commandments even until death.

The DAILY WORD
Taken from the Gospel for Wednesday's Mass
"To waht then shall I liken the men of this generation? And what are they like? They are like children sitting in the market place, calling to one another and saying, 'We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have sung dirges, and you have not wept.' For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a devil.'" Luke 7: 31-33

Events that happened Today in Church History
Today is the anniversary of the election of two Popes - 841 years ago Pope Alexander III was elevated to the Throne of Peter. As the 170th successor of the first apostle, Alexander's 22-year pontificate is remembered for calling the 11th Ecumenical Council in 1179, also known as Lateran III in which the Council condemned Albigensianism and Wadenseianism and decreed papal elections would be regulated. He also excommunicated the notorious Frederick Barbarossa. Today is also the 724th anniversary of the election of Pope John XXI in 1276 who, as 187th in the line of Peter ruled for less than a year, meeting an unfortunate fate when the residential palace, which he was having built for him in Viterbo, collapsed and killed him on May 20, 1277. Kindness begets kindness
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".
"The bold knight of the Round Table traveled far over mountain and desert in search of the Holy Grail, the Cup of Life from which the Savior drank the night of the Last Supper. His journeys proved fruitless. Depressed in spirit and fatigued in body, he returned to Arthur's hall. On the way he saw a poor man writhing in the ditch. Moved with compassion, he dismounted, gave a cup of water to the suffering man, and the cup glowed with fire as if it were alive with the joys of the new Covenant of Love. The Knight found the Holy Grail, not in deeds of prowess, but in hospitality to the needy.
