AT ONE WITH GOD
"...now they are no longer two, but one flesh" Matthew 19: 6
In nourishing a lasting relationship, let the fruit ripen in God's time through Patience, Purity and Perseverance!

The Keys to Reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love
Cyndi CainMichael Cain   After introducing this special series on the weekend of the special Jubilee of Families held October 13-14 in Rome, we continue today with second lesson Patience, Purity and Perseverance in which we delve briefly into the ripening of the fruit of love. It doesn't just happen overnight. Each person has to be patient and be allowed to grow in graces through the means the Church provides in the Sacraments and Catholic activities for young adults. The first prerequisite to finding the right person to share the rest of their life with is being true to themself. This means purity of mind, body and heart. In today's amoral society that is an anomaly for virtue is seen as a weakness; where in truth, it is a great, great strength. The key is not to bruise the fruit by forcing it to ripen before God deems the time is right. Through perseverance and trust in His Providence, one will discover what their vocation in life will be and embrace it with open arms as their fiat to His Holy Will. This sensitive and enlightening series is co-written by Michael and Cyndi Cain, who share what the Holy Spirit has inspired them to write including intimate, chasteful revelations of their own lives that have helped elevate their Conjugal Love. The entire concept unlocks the keys to reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love and, through one couple at a time, like a ripple that extends ever outward, we can change the world and eradicate the culture of death. This series will run in each Saturday issue. For the second lesson, see AT ONE WITH GOD series on Conjugal Love

"And when day broke, He summoned His disciples, and from these He chose twelve (whom He also named Apostles): Simon, whom He named Peter, and his brother Andrew; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alpheus, and Simon called the Zealot; Jude the brother of James and Judas Iscariot, who turned traitor."

Luke 6: 13-16

Events that happened Today in Church History

Blessed John XXIII    Today is the 42nd anniversary of the election of Cardinal Angelo Guiseppe Roncalli, the Patriarch of Venice who became the 261st successor of Peter, taking the name Pope John XXIII on this day. He chose the name because John was the parish saint where he was baptized and his father's name was John. This year Pope John Paul II beatified Papa John along with Pope Pius IX on the Feast of Pope Saint Gregory the Great. Cardinal Roncalli was elevated as an interim Pope because of his age of 77 to give the Sacred Conclave time to select a worthy successor to Pope Pius XII who had passed away on October 9, 1958. After a three week stalemate and a standoff between camps, they chose as a compromise Cardinal Roncalli. He surprised them all not only by living five more years, but calling the landmark Second Vatican Council. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenThere's no happiness in the realm of the ego

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"The modern tendency is toward the affirmation of the ego, the exaltation of selfishness, riding roughshod over others in order to satisfy our own self-centeredness. It certainly has not produced much happiness, for the more the ego asserts itself the more miserable it becomes."
