With the boundaries clearly delineated for a cultural civil war in our country, would the right man for President of the US please step forward?

  • Al GoreGeorge W. BushSpeaker of the House Dennis Hastert Not so fast, Mr. Gore! And please, Mr. Bush, be careful not to get too overconfident! Folks, the man who would be really right for America might just surprise you!

In our editorial this week, we could wax nostalgic for that staple quiz show with Garry Moore back in the 50's and early 60's called "To Tell The Truth!" in which three people were questioned and the panel had to come up with who was telling the truth regarding who they were or their occupation. Today truth is as difficult to uncover as finding old reels of this black and white television program. In this "neverending story" of vote counts, both sides have let the people down with the legal wrangling that has greatly besmirched the constitutional principles of our elective process. While Al Gore has truly exposed his underbelly of deceit and doublespeak, the mainstream media - the false prophets have done all they can to denigrate George W. Bush to the point that if he wins out, he could be polarized. What if no one is a clear-cut winner, what if fraud is proven that would eliminate both? It's very possible with all the accusations going on on both sides including missing military overseas absentee votes. Then what? For pro-lifers it could be just what God ordered for the man in line to be the Chief Executive of the White House would then be Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, a strong faithfilled man who is even more pro-life than Bush. He would not only fulfill all that Bush has promised, but would be more able to carry out a culture of life agenda because he could unite both parties, not having been besmirched or polarized by this mess that exists in the post-election crisis. For our commentary, Prayer! It's our only weapon! Let's use it! see CATHOLIC PewPOINT

In the November 17th issue Sister Mary Lucy Astuto asks in her column this week how many other Catholics see the whole Clinton immorality playing all over again in the most desperate of attempts to pilfer the presidency of the United States and continue to promulgate the culture of death, disposing of unborn babies at breakneck speed while upholding the rights of the pregnant chad at the ballot. Talk about morals and priorities askewed!
    SATURDAY

On November 18th, a day of multiple feasts in the Church liturgy, we present the Fifth Lesson on our special series on the Charism of Conjugal Love AT ONE WITH GOD as we turn our attention to how we judge our spouse in "Nobody's Perfect" by applying Our Lord's wise words in Scripture regarding removing the beam in our own eye, before worrying about the speck in our spouse's.

In the November 19th issue we bring you the words of Pope John Paul II from his recent Wednesday General Papal Audience where he reminded all of the need for unity with our separated brethren, but not at the expense of compromise for the Holy Eucharist is the key to Ecumenism and those in difference with the Church must understand and accept this infallible teaching.
    MONDAY

    St. Augustine

November 20th we bring you Pat Ludwa's thought-provoking column "VIEW FROM THE PEW" in which he reminds us of Christ's words to render to Caesar the things that are his, and to God the things that are the Almighty's. This is the case in building the City of God as Saint Augustine advocates and Pat documents in contrast to what this campaign has promised in building a city of men.
    TUESDAY

On November 21st, the Feast of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary we bring you Cyndi Cain's article in her SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING series in which she entreats everyone to cease all the complaining, turn to God and give thanks. While things are in bad shape, they could be worse but for the grace of God and His Merciful Love Gift of giving Himself in the Holy Eucharist.
    WEDNESDAY

On November 22nd, the Feast of the virgin and martyr Saint Cecilia, we bring you Dr. Frank Joseph's column PRO-LIFE PRESCRIPTIONS in which he shows how the law has been so twisted that a pandora's box has been opened and what we find all the way from south Florida to the White House is the same deadly serpent that first raised his ugly head in the Garden of Eden.
    THURSDAY

On November 23rd we celebrate THANKSGIVING DAY in which we give great thanks to Almighty God for all the bountiful graces He has given us. We also bring you the 207th installment of our on-going series in APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH continuing the 4tth Commandment, "Honor thy Father and thy Mother"; today dealing with other superiors i.e., the duties of elected officials.
