    A Commitment to Love

Love is not a feeling, but a commitment and the degree of a couple's commitment will determine the depths of their marriage and true Conjugal Love. True love is not possible without God! With Him all things are possible!

"There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend."
    John 15: 13
The Keys to Reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love
Cyndi CainMichael Cain   After introducing this special series on the weekend of the special Jubilee of Families held October 13-14 in Rome, we continue today with the tenth lesson A Commitment to Love in which we share personal peaks and valleys and the tie with a holy "Apostle for Life" Blessed Giana Beretta Molla who His Holiness Pope John Paul II beatified with Giana's husband Pietro and the baby daughter Giannina Molla present for the ceremonies in Rome on April 24, 1994. Little Giannina, thirty-two at the time of the beatification, is living proof of Giana's lasting pledge for the Sanctity of Life as she lived and died Christ's words in John 15: 13, "There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend." This sensitive and enlightening series is co-written by Michael and Cyndi Cain, who share what the Holy Spirit has inspired them to write including intimate, chasteful revelations of their own lives that have helped elevate their Conjugal Love. The entire concept unlocks the keys to reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love and, through one couple at a time, like a ripple that extends ever outward, we can change the world and eradicate the culture of death. This series will run in each Saturday issue. For the tenth lesson, see AT ONE WITH GOD series on Conjugal Love

We are grateful to the artist Shannon Wirrenga (701-255-7312) for permission to use the phenomenal and touching original painting above of Jesus smiling at a newborn babe full of life, a life that He allows. It is appropriately titled "I Knew You," taken from Jeremiah 1: 5. No entity, matter or energy can exist without God and He alone gives and takes life. Life is the most precious gift we have been given. That is why we dedicate this section to the Sanctity of Life for so few realize the treasures it holds from conception to the grave.

The elections are over, but the battle for life is not. We cannot give up the fight. Please continue to pray that President George W. Bush and his cabinet will promote legislation for the Sanctity of Life and pray for those pro-abort congressmen, senators and governors that they will have a conversion of heart and recognize the evil of their ways. Remember, nothing is impossible with God. We encourage you to go to the Pro-Life links below to keep up to date on the great battle between life and death - the Sanctity of Life vs. the culture of death. For more see, PRO LIFE FOR LIFE

Sixth Day of Christmas=Six days of Creation

Sixth Day of Christmas
"On the sixth day of Christmas my True Love gave to me six golden rings"

So many have misinterpreted the Twelve Days of Christmas with a secular meaning, but they fail to realize that, in fact, they were a "secret catechism code" sung by persecuted Roman Catholics from the Protestant Reformation through the French Revolution. It was their way of communicating their faith much in the same manner the early Christians did with symbols such as the fish. The six geese a-laying represent the six days God took to create the earth, the universe, and all creatures. It was a way for all Catholics to remind fellow faithful and be reminded that, despite persecution, they were not second-class citizens but rather first-class children of God and rightful heirs to His mansions in the Heavenly regions if they persevered in the One, True Faith. Thus the sixth day represents the sixth day octave of Christmas and Creation.

Events that happened Today in Church History

Pope St. Felix I

Today is the 1, 726th anniversary of the death of Pope Saint Felix I,the 26th successor of Peter. Elected on January 3rd in 269, his pontificate lasted just one week shy of five years. His greatest contribution to the Church was in defining the divinity and humanity of Our Lord Jesus Christ and proclaiming the doctrine of these two natures in the Second Person of the Trinity. His pontificate was wrought with persecution at the hands of the Roman Emperor Aurelian who hunted down the Christians and tortured them mercilessly before throwing them to the lions. Felix saw to it that many of these martyrs' remains were gathered and placed under church altars throughout Rome and the universal Church and decreed that the Eucharistic Sacrifice be allowed to be said on these altars as well as their tombs. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenIdeas are knowledge

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Passion cannot operate unless we have an idea about something. A woman will not 'get mad' at a bargain counter, unless she knows that someone is getting the better selection. We speak of people becoming 'enthused' about some idea - and an idea is knowledge. No one undergoes the passion of sadness without first having a knowledge of a loss or a disaster."
