O God, Who through the resurrection of Thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, hast vouchsafed to make glad the whole world, grant us, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may attain the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

On the first day of May and throughout Mary's monthas well as every second of our lives should be "Mayday", not in the sense of the Communist celebration of the same moniker, but in the sense that we say "may God's will be fulfilled each and everyday for that is what the Mother of God truly wants from her children. So the "Mayday" Traditional Catholics prefer has nothing to do secular news such as the protests or riots as we saw this week in Baltimore, a Saul Alinksy tactic right out of his manifesto "Rules for Radicals" that Barack Hussein Obama and his administration of lackeys have been intensifying over the past six years where it almost seems we are back in the 60's.

If only we were back in the sixties, perhaps we would harken to the warnings of the saints, especially St. Athanasius whose feast we celebrate Saturday and soundly stop the heresy of Vatican 2 before it was able to plant its deadly poison. But realistically we know that is not possible. Thus we must resort to plan B or at this point, plan C and cling to the true Faith as, with every passing day, persecutions intensify throughout the world from secular sectors as well as the CONciLIAR apparatchiks intent on stifling true Catholicism.

St. John the Evangelist told us as much in his epistle, "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that Antichrist cometh, even now there are become many Antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us; but that they may be manifest, that they are not all of us" (1 St. John 2: 18-19). We can see today many Antichrists throughout the world including the apostate church of Modernist Rome and our own country and leaders. I repeat here what a wise man from the Czech Republic wrote previously:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President."

That not only sums up the electorate, but the lack of concern by many in the CONciLIAR church who have grown comfortable and more blind over the past 50 plus years. But that is the consequences of forsaking the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. To prevent one from being even more foolish, one would best turn to the one whom our Sovereign King Christ the Lord cannot say no to - His Blessed Mother Mary - our Immaculate Queen. Yes, we can take comfort in pleasing her divine Son by knowing what "Mayday" really means, for to true Catholics it is the day we begin the Blessed Virgin Mary's month of May and celebrate her as the Queen of the May and the one who has the answers to whatever "mayday, mayday!" signals we may send up considering the chaos that exists in our day and age. Think of the S.O.S. (Save Our Souls) message we can send to Heaven during this month with our greatest means of communication that trumps the internet, wi-fi or any other medium - the holy Rosary, Mary's holy psalter. To begin the month Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey has an article to enhance our trust in Mary with Total Marian Consecration

Finally, as always, to keep abreast of events, their causes and consequences, and inspiration from other ports, we confidently recommend NovusOrdoWatch.org and Christorchaos.com for articles and links, as well as four blogs worth your while, Introibo Ad Altare Dei, Bishop Donald Sanborn's In Veritate, Fr. Cekada's Quidlibet, and the satirical, but on-point Call Me Jorge.

In the Church of the Twelve Apostles in Rome there were some relics of the apostles Philip and James the Just or Less. Because of the consecration of the Church of the holy Apostles on May 1, and the relics of St. James preserved in this Church, the feast of James the Less was joined with that of St. Philip and celebrated on this day. ...More

Up until 1955 Sts. Phillip and James was the main feast for May 1st, but in that year Pope Pius XII set May 1 for the Solemnity of St. Joseph the Worker, Patron of the Universal Church. Despite Bugnini's treachery, some traditional circles now celebrate this feast. Therefore we provide both for the reader. Feast of St. Joseph

This is also the First Friday of May as we honor the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with First Friday Devotions

The beloved disciple Saint John the Evangelist was granted the blessing of the vision of a woman crowned with twelve stars, clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet. According to expert commentators, most specifically the Haydock Commentary in the Douay-Rheims version, this woman is the Blessed Virgin Mary, with her virtues and her privileges, especially that of her divine maternity. Thus originated the Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which Saint John Calasanctius, Saint John Berchmans and many other saints made it a practice to recite frequently, especially during Mary's Month of May. In order to make this prayer more attractive, Saint Louis Marie de Montfort (whose feast we just observed last Sunday) added to each Hail Mary one of the praises of the Blessed Virgin, with the invocation: "Rejoice, O Virgin Mary; rejoice a thousand times." It is this prayer which St. Louis gave to his religious families (The Montfort Fathers and the Daughters of Wisdom) as their morning prayer. He also recommends it to all those who embrace the devotion of the holy and loving slavery of Jesus through Mary. We combine with this beautiful prayer at the very beginning the designated flower and virtue for the day throughout Mary's month for she is the Queen of the May. You can print it out so that you have a copy to pray each day at Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary Devotion

While the title above honors the holy Apostles Sts. Philip and James, it is also appropriate in leading off Mary's Month of May by honoring her chaste earthly spouse for Saint Joseph is the Universal Patron of the Church. He is symbolized by the LILY and the designated virtue in offering Our Lady a beautiful spiritual bouquet is PURITY. No flower is more significant in identifying the Foster Father of Jesus and chaste Protector of Mary than the holy Joseph whose feast is always the symbol of purity, most always depicted by the pure Lily. Thus, as we noted, in some traditional chapels this feast is celebrated on the Third Wednesday after Easter. Speaking of that, those observing the liturgical calendar approved by Pope Pius XII observe that Solemnity on May 1 with the very same Propers of the Mass and celebrate the feast of the holy Apostles Sts. Philip and James on May 11. While those who still observe the liturgy as it was at the time of Pope St. Pius X celebrate the latter feast today. We offer both Propers to our readers as well as the beautiful devotion below, prayed throughout May.

St. Athanasius, Doctor of the Church and Patriarch of Alexandria, one of the most renowned of the Fathers of the Church, was the heroic and successful defender of Catholic doctrine against Arius. After many sufferings in the cause of God's Church, he died May 2, 373. While living in Rome during his exile he described to the Romans the wonderful life of Antony and Pachomius in Egypt, sowing the seed of monasticism in Rome. He taught with great power the independence of the Church from civil authority. It was the holy Bishop and Doctor of the Church Saint Athanasius, whose feast we celebrate today with the Mass In medio Ecclesiae

In honor of this holy Doctor of the Church we also inclue to the right more on this Apostle of Tradition as well as present, courtesy of Traditional Catholic Sermons, a 24-minute sermon by Bishop Donald Sanborn several years ago on this Doctor of the Desert and Deserted His Excellency recalls the great saint's words, "Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a handful, they are the ones who are the true Church of Jesus Christ."

This is also the First Saturday of May as we honor Mary's request with First Saturday Devotions

The second day of Mary's Month of May is the Feast of the first man honored as a Doctor of the Church. That would be Saint Athanasius, the holy Bishop who withstood the brunt of the greatest apostasy in the Church until this present day when The Great Apostasy has arrived. It is in looking to this holy Doctor that we can take great hope and courage to stay the course and fight for the Faith as he did sixteen centuries ago. It was this stauch defender of Catholic truth, this Alexandrian Bishop who persisted against the Arian heresies through numerous popes. He was banished by emperors and the Arians four times. But in the end the True Faith won out, thanks to the persevereance of men like Saint Athanasius. St. Athanasius is an ideal example of staying the course for he remains the Apostle of Tradition

Bishop Donald Sanborn presents a 24-minute sermon on tdoay's saint and the perseverance and trials of the holy Doctor of the Church St. Athanasius where he tells us of the similarities between this Patriarch of Alexandria's time and our own time and, conversely he provides the dissimilarities in the difference of the popes in his time and 'popes' today as His Excellency says that the pope is the principal of unity of the Church just as Christ is. You know who is Catholic by who is united to the Pope, whereas if the 'pope' is a heretic and the source of heresy, one must resist and rely on the true head of the Church: Jesus Christ. That is the lesson the Bishop provides in sharing the life of St. Athanasius

Each day we shall feature a title and salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May for she is truly the Mother of Divine Grace. We encourage all to pray daily the Holy Rosary and the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

On the second day of Mary's Month of May, a ROSE was presented to represent LOVE OF GOD. No one loves God more than His Blessed Mother Mary who humbly became the Living Tabernacle of the Holy of Holies. Mary is associated with the rose because it is one of the most beautiful flowers of all and her special prayer - the Rosary - is a bouquet of spiritual roses that we can offer her each day for her to take to the Holy Trinity in intercession for us as her Heavenly Mother who loves us so much. For the daily devotion in May see The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

As much as we hate to beg, we have no choice. If you have benefited in anyway from what we have published, we humbly ask your help to keep this publication on line. We know that so many of our readers are unable to assist at a true traditional Latin Mass because of where they live and use the daily liturgy we publish to gain the efficacious graces possible through their prayers at home. We remain the only publication in the world to provide such and are grateful to God that we can provide such nourishment for souls. If you have not donated before, isn't it only right and proper to donate now? Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Just click the button below or send a check/money order to the address below. We are a bonafide non-profit 501c(3) religious association and all donations are tax-deductible. Whatever you would have contributed toward any bloated political campaigns or thrown away in the conciliar collection plates that only goes to covering up the sins of its presbyters and false primates while destroying all semblence of Catholicism, why not earmark it for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic? After all, shouldn't we all take St. Paul's strong counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to heart and "stand firm, and hold the traditions which you have learned"?

We encourage you to learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass - the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in these videos at this link because each time you worthily assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in person, you gain graces that are placed in a "golden chalice", so to speak, and is offered to God to be weighed in substance when you stand before Him at your Particular Judgment. The more you have filled this chalice, the better will it go for your spiritual welfare in eternity, enhanced by your cooperation with grace. Know the Mass

When One Cannot physically assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we provide additional prayers that can be supplemented with the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and the PROPER OF THE DAY to enable you to better prepare yourself at home. Of course, this never replaces actually being there, but it is much better than attending the Novus Ordo services. Therefore we have gleaned from The Key of Heaven prayers to say at home. It is very comforting to know that the Holy Mass is offered for us even when we are not actually present. But to enjoy the benefits which it procures, we must by a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION become partakers of the altar from which we are temporarily banished. Here we provide prayers in preparation for fulfilling assistance in absentia in addition to the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and PROPER OF THE DAY. PRAYERS IN ABSENTIA

Prayer Before the Crucifix

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst fix deep within my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope and Charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, whilst with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious Wounds; having before my eyes the words which David in prophesy spoke concerning Thee, O Good Jesus: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."

Plenary Indulgence, Condition:
  • Confession
  • Communion
  • One Our Father
  • One Hail Mary
  • One Glory be...
Pope Pius IX, July 31, 1858

The Fatima Prayers

My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
