Thank you for your patience. Also want to thank those who have contributed thus far to helping with Cyndi's Angels. May Our Lord and Our Lady richly bless those who have given. Through your help we've been able to pare down the debt in half from nearly $8000. to $4000. But as you can see we're still in need. Please don't forget us. God bless and keep. Sancta Maria, Mater Immaculati Cordis, ora pro nobis.
We've just received news of the passing of Joseph Vallejo. Known around Southern Colorado as "Cadillac Joe", he was the 86-year old father of Sandy Praska, who with her husband Doug, have been the backbone of the traditional parish of Our Lady of Fatima in San Diego. He died peacefully on August 5 a day after Fr. Luis Jurado had administered Extreme Unction. A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Romero Family Funeral Home, 110 Cleveland St. in Pueblo, Colorado with a Requiem Mass the following day at the same location at 10 a.m. officiated by Fr. Jurado.

Born on the feast of Mary, Help of Christians on May 24, 1928, Joseph and his wife Mary Consuelo were married for 61 years and were members of the CMRI's Mary, Help of Christian parish in Colorado Springs where Fr. Jurado is the pastor. Mary preceded her husband in death two years ago on August 27. He is survived by four children Anne, Sandy, Joseph Jr. and Mario and several grandchildren including Doug and Sandy's four children Christian, Shaun, Michaella, and Mary. He will be buried in Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pueblo with military honors as a World War II veteran of the Air Force. In lieu of flowers, Sandy requests Mass stipends be offered for the repose of her father's immortal soul.

As has been the norm for several years, August serves as our Annual Summer Hiatus Edition where the focus is on the Immaculate Heart of Mary during her special month. This includes the devotion of praying daily the Litany of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and three Novenas, all that lead to the apex of this month - the Blessed Mother's feast of her Immaculate Heart on August 22 when we make the Consecration to her Immaculate Heart and Act of Reparation. To the right is a magnificent stained glass rendition of the Immaculate Heart by inspiring traditional Catholic artist Michelle R. Maher. Click the image to see a larger image. There are several of her paintings that we are pleased to feature in this edition. The first Novena this month begins August 3 and is dedicated to that special saint adopted by traditional Catholics as symbolic of the difference before Vatican 2 and after. Her Novena lasts through her feast day on August 11. On the feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord we begin the Novena in preparation for the Solemenity of Mary's Assumption into Heaven, and on the vigil of the Assumption we initate the Novena to her Immaculate Heart completing it on her feast day. The links to all these devotions can be accessed here or clicking directly below the masthead above. In addition, each day we will present a stanza from the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception to honor Our Lady.
This month and year, for that matter, is very special in so many ways because it is the 800th Anniversary of Our Lady bequeathing to St. Dominic her holy Psalter, which of course we know as the holy Rosary. It was given to the founder of the Order of Preachers to combat heresies of that era. and we celebrate early in this month the feast of the Dominican who planted the seed for great saints down through the centuries. Just think of how many souls have been saved over that period in history to today by the intercession of the Blessed Mother because of the holy Rosary. It can boggle the mind how powerful those blessed beads are. They are to Catholics the slingshot to fell the monstrous Modernist Goliath.

In harmony with the holy Rosary reaching 800, this month and next month, which is devoted to the Sorrowful Mother, we want to highlight an installment on the holy Rosary each day, prefaced by a stanza from the Little Office. The installments are from the work of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort; specifically what he penned over two and a half centuries ago titled The Secret of The Rosary. Yet there really is no secret if one thinks about it and is devoted to Our Lord and Our Lady. But we are bringing these to you in short increments for each day to help each gain more from praying the daily Rosary for it is indeed the most powerful weapon we have available. They can talk about weapons of mass destruction all they want, but the real weapon of Mass destruction are those who have revolted against the true Church with the novelties and heresies of Vatican 2. So we come full circle. Just as it was given to St. Dominic to strengthen the faithful against heresy, so also today we are faced with the greatest of heresies - Modernism, which His Holiness Pope St. Pius X called the "synthesis of all heresies". By Paul 6's own admittance, satan got into the sanctuary and has occupied it ever since. It's time to drive him out and all those who have veered from the true Faith in forming a new modern religion of man. Grab your Rosaries and fire away.

While we celebrate that the holy Rosary is 800 years old, we also commemorate this month the 100th Anniversary of the death of His Holiness Pope St. Pius X who passed into eternity a century ago on the feast of the holy Doctor of the Church St. Bernard. Oh, if only we had listened to that holy Pope who did all he could to safeguard the Church from the terrible evil of Modernism. But alas, the wisdom he imparted was dismissed by those very interlopers who sought to infiltrate and destroy Christ's one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Who would have thought one hundred years ago that less than a century later all he had warned against would be accomplished by the VaticanArians of the CONciLIAR church thanks to that revolutionary council intent on undermining the true Faith, satan's last obstacle to total chaos.

Finally, speaking of chaos, what is happening in Israel and Palestine is terrible, what's occurring in the Ukraine is regrettable, what is going on with the scandals of our incompetent godless government and the illegal immigration on our porous borders is unforgettable, but what is more horrendous than all else is what is happening in the cradle of civilization where Iraqi Christian Chaldean Catholics are being senselessly and mercilessly slaughtered, beheaded all because they are Nazarenes - that is, they believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God Who died for us. Because these fanatical pagan infidels have no sense of morals they are indeed merchants of the devil. The symbol to the left is the mark the barbarian ISIS are placing on Chaldeans and their property in the same manner the Nazis marked German Jews and Catholics who would not go along with the Reichstag. Down through the centuries countless were martyred for the holy faith from the early Christians to the Crusaders to the English Martyrs, those victims of the French Revolution and in later times Fr. Miguel Pro and the Mexican martyrs as well as those behind the Iron Curtain and Vietnam, Indonesia, and now the Mideast. Always, the blood of the martyrs nourished the seed of Christianity, and try as they might they will not wipe out Christianity. It is part of the chastisement because we have not heeded God's will. America will suffer for her sins as well even more than she is today, but we can never give up hope that Mary's Immaculate Heart will triumph soon. Until then we stand with all martyrs and proudly say and pray in unison with the persecuted: We are Nazarenes!

Day One: Novena - Nativity of Mary

The theme of the Eighth Sunday is to account for your stewardship before God and then man. In the Epistle we are reminded of our divine filiation, and Our Lord tells us in a parable in today's Gospel of the duties thereby entailed. We are the children of God, since we may say in all truth: Our Father (Epistle). God has given us life, "wherefore we must life according to His will" (Collect). Just as this rich landowner who, before giving his son his share of the heritage, wishes to test his administrative capability, by entrusting to him things of ...More

Today is also the feast of the Finding of the body of St. Stephen, the first martyr, with some other saints, was discovred near Jerusalem in the year 415. Later the body of the saint was taken to Constantinople and finally to Rome, where it now lies beside that of St. Lawrence. The many miracles that occurred on the finding of St. Stephen's body led to the institution of this festival, besides that of December 26th. A tradition states that Gamaliel, the teacher of St. Paul, had buried the body of St. Stephen at his ...More

Novena to St. Philomena
Day One

To enhance each Sunday's Epistle and Gospel we present this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. For the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost, the theme is giving an account of one's responsibilities, one's stewardship over those things God has entrusted each with. This means abiding by His laws and not being slaves to the world, the flesh and the devil for to give in to that triumverate of trouble will punch one's almost sure ticket to accommodations with Mammon who is so cunning, especially in the midst of those children of the light who are not on their guard, not tending to their duties and not vigilant to the Holy Ghost's promptings. "Give an account of thy stewardship"

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a fourteen-minute sermon given last year by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph Seminary at the City of Mary in Rathdrum, Idaho. Father reminds us of the epistle of St. Paul today how living according to the flesh, we shall die and today we are in greater danger than ever because of the culture that leans toward the world, the flesh and the devil. To combat this we must avoid the occasions of sin and control our eyes and thoughts. Especially during the summer months. The best defense is the receiving the sacraments of Penance and the Holy Eucharist as often as we can. Invocations will help us throughout the day in keeping our eye on the Prize through living a life of virtue, beginning with humility and sincere contrition to go and sin no more. Do not allow yourself to be sucked in by society and the world for the only result of sin is guilt and punishment, eternal punishment. That's why it's called mortal sin! Father explains in Live The Life of Virtue

      Thee God in the depth
           Of eternity chose
      And formed thee all fair
           As His glorious spouse.
From Matins in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

Besides the above prayer from St. Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort, we have the magnificent inspiration he gave us of The Secret of the Rosary. Since the month of August this year is the 800th Anniversary of the holy Rosary, we want to bring you installments to enhance your devotion in praying the Rosary for those blessed beads are indeed, the most powerful weapons we have available 24-7. We present today de Montfort's Dedication to the laity, whom he recognizes that all of us having a fallen human nature as he offers A Red Rose for Sinners

St. Dominic, the founder of the Order of Friars Preachers, was born in Spain in 1170, and died at Bologna, Italy, in 1221. In 1208 while the saint was at prayer Our Lady appeared to him, gave him the Rosary, and bade him go forth and preach. Beads in hand, he led the Catholic troops against the Albigensians. and crushed that heresy. Countless souls were brought to grace by his words. His parents attributed his birth to the prayers of the holy Benedictine Abbot, Dominic of Silos; his mother saw in a vision her child in the shape of a little dog, holding a torch in his mouth. He became the great defender of ...More

Novena to St. Philomena
Day Two

On the occasion of the 800th Anniversary of St. Dominic receiving the holy Rosary, John Gregory presents an inspiring piece on Saint Dominic, the extirpator of heresy, who is the ideal on how we can extrapolate today those heretics far worse than in the time when the founder of the Order of Preachers walked the earth for holy Mother Church. How do we know of the heretics today? The very words of Sacred Scripture expose these heretics such as the CONciLIAR false 'popes' from Roncalli through Bergoglio, by their own words that makes them apostates far more devious than the Albigensians who ravaged the Church in the thirteenth century. Heaven bestowed the powerful weapon of the Rosary to St. Dominic to fight heresies. Today that weapon must be used all the more fervently if we are to defeat the Modernists who subscribe to what Pope St. Pius X called the "synthesis of all heresies." John provides the evidence in The Receptor of the Rosary to be the Extirpator of Heresies

    And called thee His Word's
         Own Mother to be,
    By whom He created
The earth, sky and sea. Amen.

God elected here and pre-elected her.
He made her to dwell in His tabernacle.
    O Lady, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto thee.

We present today de Montfort's Dedication to the good and devout souls as he offers A Mystical Rose for Devout Souls

Tradition tells us that during the pontificate of Pope Liberius, in the Fourth Century, in the heat of August, the plan of the church of St. Mary Major was traced out in a miraculous fall of snow. For this reason that basilica is known as St. Mary-of-the-Snow, and the name is also given to the feast of its dedication. The stations at at Christmas are held in this Church because some relics of the Crib of Bethlehem are preserved there. The Pope was also accustomed to officiate there on the first Sunday in Advent, at the beginning of ...More

Novena to St. Philomena
Day Three

Throughout this month, in an effort to help souls contemplate deeper the mysteries of the holy Rosary, we bring you inspiring meditations based on sacred scripture by John Gregory. To see a larger image of the painting to the right, click on the image. John will cover all fifteen mysteries throughout the month. What greater joy can there be than to be told by a heavenly messenger of the highest order - St. Gabriel the Archangel - that the Almighty Father has created you for all time for this moment? Chosen the Holy Ghost as your divine Spouse? and selected you, among zillions of souls, to be the mother of His only-begotten Son? This great Mystery is cause for unending joy and if there ever was a sanctification of motherhood it was in Mary's fiat that she would accept - "be it done unto me according to Thy will" - and through the full cooperation of her Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart, paved the way for God's children to gain Heaven through this living and most pure Ark of the Covenant. The First Joyful Mystery

      Hail, Virgin most wise,
           Hail, Deity's shrine,
      With seven fair pillars,
           And table divine.
From Prime in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

Besides the below prayer from St. Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort in the Office of Prime, we also have the magnificent inspiration he gave us of The Secret of the Rosary. Since the month of August this year is the 800th Anniversary of the holy Rosary, we want to bring you installments to enhance your devotion in praying the Rosary for those blessed beads are indeed, the most powerful weapons we have available 24-7. We present today de Montfort's Dedication to the the children whom he calls Dear Little Friends as he offers A Rosebund for Little Children

This festival was originally commemorated on the Vigil of Ember Saturday in Lent. With the decline of liturgical understanding a special festival was instituted in its honor in order to arouse popular devotion to this mystery. It is now the patronal feast of the Lateran Basilica, and of all churches under the title of St. Savior. Pope St. Xystus II There is also a commemoration of Pope Saint Sixtus, Saints Felicissimus and Agapitus, Martyrs. Pope St. Sixtus II, 24th Successor of St. Peter, effected the translation of the mortal remains of the man Christ chose as the first Sovereign Pontiff of His Church. Sixtus also introduced the Latin exclamation Deo gratias into the Ordinary of the holy Mass. He is also referred to as Xystus and is mentioned in the Canon of the Mass. He served in a basilica in Rome, which is called Saint Peter ad Vincula (in chains) was the first martyr actually put to death in the catacombs themselves. Under the Emperor Valerian (258) he was beheaded on his throne just as he finished Mass. His four deacons were put to death with him, and two others, Felicissimus and Agapitus, were decapitated the same day while ...More

Novena to St. Philomena
Day Four

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a sixteen-minute sermon given eight years ago by Bishop Daniel Dolan on the Transfiguration as he sets the scene where Our Lord chose to reveal to His closest Apostles Who He really was. There had been rumors that He was a king Who would overthrow the Jews and set the Romans straight. He wanted to let them know that His kingdom was not of this world for He is the Light that shines in the darkness just as St. John says in the opening of his gospel. The bishop notes that the Apostles said it is good to be here. So also we should say the same when in the presence of the True Presence at Holy Mass, Adoration or Benediction for the Light will shine in our own darkness if we are only open to the Light. Like the Apostles, they had to shake their head when the Transfiguration was over and it was back to reality, so also today we see instead of the City of God, we find the tragic CONciLIAR church and the desecration of all that is holy. Darkness permeates souls. It is a reason also that Israel is not at peace and here in America the darkness blinds us to the divine plan as we head toward a one world government and one world church, all satan's plan. Sentimentality and feelings have replaced reason and common sense. The world has turned topsy-turvy. Social engineering has turned souls silent to proclaim the truth. We must for the scandal of the cross must be our all. We've seen the Light of faith as the gospel says and can discern the difference between God's Plan and the Scandal of Man

      Preserved from the guilt
           Which hath come on us all;
      Exempt in the womb
From the taint of the fall.
From Prime in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

Since the month of August this year is the 800th Anniversary of the holy Rosary, we want to bring you installments to enhance your devotion in praying the Rosary for those blessed beads are indeed, the most powerful weapons we have available 24-7. With his four chapters of his dedication completed, he begins with presenting the origin and name of the Rosary as he distributes ten roses, replicating a decade, with the first rose being First Rose: The Prayers of the Rosary

Today we begin another Novena in this month of novenas with the Novena in preparation for the Solemnity of the Assumption that lasts from the feast of the Transfiguration through the Vigil of the Assumption. Click on First Day of the Novena for the Assumption
Day One

St. Cajetan was born in 1480 in Lombardy, of pious and noble parents. From childhood he was known as a saint and in later years as "a hunter of souls." Even before St. Ignatius he undertook to establish a body of Clerks Regular following the apostolic life. Together with Pietro Carafa, afterwards Pope Paul IV, he took the austere vow of entrusting himself entirely to Divine Providence and living solely on any alms which might be voluntarily given by the faithful. Christian Rome venerates him as one of her most ...More

Novena to St. Philomena
Day Five

Today we bring you the second mystery in Mary's holy Psalter as John Gregory provides an insightful inspiration on the Visitation where Our Lady dismissed all concerns for herself to minister to others, most notably her cousin St. Elizabeth who was further along in her pregnancy than Mary. Elizabeth recognized in Mary God's design for her younger cousin as did the babe in her womb - Saint John the Baptist who, though not conceived free of Original Sin was sanctified at the presence of the Babe in Mary's womb - the fetus of the God-Man. In this time when man's uncharity towards his fellow man is legend, we need to refocus on the intention for the Second Joyful Mystery - charity towards our neighbor out of our love for God. This charity is not reserved only for a select few, but all we meet. This charity is not about doing only humane things for others, but going well beyond that in doing all we can to do all in our power to see that our neighbor will save his eternal soul. This means charitably rebuking, correcting and admonishing if our neighbor has veered from the path God intended, and that means knowing our Faith so others will know it and convert. That's the greatest charity we can do for others because we do not want to see them condemned. That's what can happen as Jesus so clearly told us in St. Matthew 28: 20 and St. Mark 16: 16. John shares the meditation of The Second Joyful Mystery: The Visitation

      O new Star of Jacob
           Of angels the Queen,
      O gate of the saints,
           O mother of men.
From Prime in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

"Since the holy Rosary is composed, principally and in substance, of the Prayer of Christ and the Angelic Salutation, that is, the Our Father and the Hail Mary, it was without doubt the first prayer and the first devotion of the faithful and has been in use all through the centuries, from the time of the Apostles and disciples down to the present. But it was only in the year 1214, however, that Holy Mother Church received the Rosary in its present form and according to the method we use today. It was given to the Church by Saint Dominic who had received it from the Blessed Virgin as a powerful means of converting the Albigensians and other sinners." Those are the opening words of St. Louis de Montfort's second part of the origin of the Rosary as he offers Second Rose: Origin of the Rosary

Day Two

Today is the Simple feast of the holy martyrs St. Cyriacus, Largus and Smaragdus. Cyriacus was a holy deacon of Rome under Popes St. Marcellinus and Marcellus. With Largus, Smaragdus, and about twenty others he was crowned with martyrdom in 303, in the persecution of Diocletian. The occasion of the translation of their remains many years later to a church dedicated to them led to the institution of a festival in their memory. St. Cyriacus is invoked for diseases of the eye, and ...More

To see a larger image of Mother and Child by Michelle R. Maher, click on the image. Today we bring you the third mystery in Mary's holy Psalter as John Gregory provides an insightful inspiration on the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior, the promised Messiah Whom the Old Covenant had foretold and prepared for and yet, when He arrived He was unknown except to a few. Such was the world then and is the world today where His birth has been turned into a bachanalian festival where society today is being forced to forego displays of the humble creche where He was born. It is important to our own faith and peace of mind to return to that joyous occasion as John Gregory guides us on a meditative journey that we might gain a greater appreciation of Mary's role in salvation and how, through the Nativity of her Divine Son, and in cooperation with the chosen Joseph, she cooperated with God's call to bear all things in love, silence and obedience to God in all things for His greater honor and glory. John shares the meditation of The Third Joyful Mystery: The Nativity

    O terrible as
         The embattled array,
    Be thou of the faithful
         The refuge and stay. Amen.

The Lord Himself created her in the Holy Ghost.
And poured here out among all His works.
    O Lady, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto thee.

From Prime in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

"This miraculous way in which the devotion to the Holy Rosary was established is something of a parallel to the way in which Almighty God gave His law to the world on Mount Sinai and obviously proves its value and importance. Inspired by the Holy Ghost, instructed by the Blessed Virgin as well as by his own experience, Saint Dominic preached the Holy Rosary for the rest of his life. He preached it by his example as well as by his sermons, in cities and in country places, to people of high station and low, before scholars and the uneducated, to Catholics and to heretics." Those are the opening words of St. Louis de Montfort's third part on the receptor of Mary's holy Psalter from Heaven as St. Louis offers a Third Rose: St. Dominic

St. John Mary Vianney was born at Dardilly, France, in 1786. He was a farm-hand until his nineteenth year, when he began his studies for the priesthood. His talents were poor, and his progress slow. He was ordained at Grenoble in 1815; he became parish priest of Ars in 1818. That little town was the scene of his marvelous labors until his holy death, August 4, 1859. He was canonized May 31, 1925, by Pope Plus XI. For forty years his food and sleep were insufficient to sustain human life; during the last ten years of his life he spent from from sixteen to eighteen hours a day in the confessional. Enlightened by God, he could read hearts and soften the most hardened sinner. He healed the sick and cast out devils; like his Master he was openly persecuted, calumniated and hated by wicked men. His little parish attracted thousands of people. Towards the end of his life 158,000 people visited Ars in a single year. He founded an orphanage for girls, trusting its support to Divine Providence. He had the gift of prophecy, and told many souls what the future held in store for them. He is in a special manner the model for all parish priests. Today is also the commemoration of The Vigil of St. Lawrence and the feast of St. Romanus, Martyr. The vigil of St. Lawrence has been observed in the Church certainly since the Fourth Century. The ancient vigils consisted of a fixed number of scriptural Lessons alternated with responsorial Psalms and ...More

This holy Cure of Ars holds nothing back in exacting a thorough examination of our souls, consciences and habits. By and large Traditional Catholics live their daily lives free of mortal sin, but how many of us seriously take the Cure of Ars' words seriously enough to move out of whatever comfort zone we are in at the present and strive to love God more, to be more aware of His role for each of us, and to manifest our choice of God over the world? That is a question St. Jean Marie Vianney asks. How will we answer? His words are as applicable today, even moreso, than in his time as parish vicar in the post French Revolution days of the first half of the 19th century, and onee thing remains the same as he speaks On the Lukewarmness of Souls

      Hail, Solomon's throne,
           Pure ark of the law,
      Fair rainbow and bush
           Which the patriarch saw.
From Tierce in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

"All things, even the holiest, are subject to change, especially when they are dependent on man's free will. It is hardly to be wondered at, then, that the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary only retained its fervor for one century after it was instituted by Saint Dominic. After this, it was like a thing buried and forgotten. Doubtless, too, the wicked scheming and jealousy of the devil were largely responsible for getting people to neglect the Holy Rosary, and thus block the flow of God's grace which it had drawn down upon the world. Thus, in 1349, God punished the whole of Europe and sent the most terrible plague that had ever been known into every land. It started first in the east and spread throughout Italy, Germany, France, Poland and Hungary, bringing desolation wherever it came----for out of hundred men hardly one lived to tell the tale. Big towns, little towns, villages and monasteries were almost completely deserted during the three years that the epidemic lasted." Here St. Louis de Montfort is speaking of the Black Death as offers a Fourth Rose: Blessed Alan de Roche

We urge you to click the Rosary banner above for the Seventh Saturday in the Fifteen Saturdays Rosary Crusade organized by Bishop Robert McKenna, O.P. to do our part for the salvation of souls by bringing souls to the true Catholic Faith and Sacraments, for the welfare of our country, and for our own special intentions as we all strive for holiness in our role as members of the Church Militant. On this seventh Saturday of the Fifteen we weep with Jesus as He is shackled to the pillar and terribly scourged. If only we realized we too must be scourged of the world, the flesh and the devil to be purified so we can gain admittance to Heaven. Seventh Saturday

Day Four

God is our Helper, and He will always come to our aid He will open the ears of His mercy to our prayers, and will not allow us to be tempted beyond our strength. There is a commemoration today for St. Lawrence. After the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul this is the greatest festival in the ancient Roman Liturgy. The terrible martyrdom endured by the famous archdeacon deeply impressed the generations that came immediately after him, for whom Saint Lawrence became at Rome that which Saint Stephen had been at Jerusalem. During the persecutions under Valerian in 258, numerous priests and bishops were put to death, while Christians belonging to the nobility or the Roman Senate were deprived of their goods and ...More

Day Five

To enhance each Sunday's Epistle and Gospel we present this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. For the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost the theme is that one does not know the hour of one's visitation, in other words, when he has to make an account before God of all he has done on earth. That is why St. Paul warned not to tempt Christ and why our Lord wept and then, in righteous anger, chased those out of the house of God who put more weight in worldly things. How we see this today in the once Catholic churches that call themselves 'Catholic' but are anything but. The time will come when they will be chased out by means known only to God and they will be restored to true houses of God where the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Mass of All Ages will once again summon the angels and His abundant graces for those willing to abandon a civilization currently in slavery to the world, the flesh and the devil. How dare thou anger God

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a 21-minute sermon given a few years ago by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph Seminary at the City of Mary in Rathdrum, Idaho. Father begins by showing the results of Our Lord's prophetic warning of what would happen to Jerusalem as he relates how Christ's words were carried out to the letter in today's Gospel of St. Luke 19 and later chapter 23. Father explains in detail the results of the destruction of Jerusalem, thanks to the account of Josephus, and Father then ties it to the Protestant Revolution and French Revolution, Spanish Civil War to today where we face the Great Apostasy with the false CONciLIAR church that has turned from His teachings, for woe to those who, through indifference or sloth, neglect to correspond with their graces. Father asks are we guaranteed because we have the true Faith? No, we must live our faith and never be complacent in our Faith. He reminds us of Apocalypse 3: 15-16. That is result if we do not realize the causes as Father entreats us to Learn the Lesson from History to Persevere in the Faith

      Hail, Gideon's fleece,
           Hail, blossoming rod,

Day Six

Continuing focusing on all they mysteries of Mary's holy Psalter this month, John Gregory provides a comprehensive reflection/meditation and study on the Presentation of the Child Jesus and the Purification of His Blessed Mother in the Temple and a renewed perspective of Mary's role in salvation in how her life parallels her holy obedience to all God has asked. Though her divine Child would be submissive to her as an obedient, loving Son for the next 30 years, it was here, Forty days after His birth that Mary followed the letter of the Jewish Law not only to present Him to the Jews as the Messiah, so recognized by Simeon, but also for Mary to obediently go through the rite of purification in the eyes of man - though she already was the purest vessel ever created by the Almighty, free of original sin. In a sense, for the rest of us born with Original Sin, her submission was the precursor for the Sacrament of Penance. The Fourth Joyful Mystery: The Presentation

    Well fitting it was

Saint Clare, born at Assisi in Umbria, was the first of the holy virgins whom St. Francis, consecrating to God, bound to Christlike poverty. On a visit to St. Francis, she expressed to him her desire to become a Spouse of Christ. To St. Francis had been given a little chapel called the Portiuncula by the Benedictine abbot of Monte Subasio. St. Francis gave to Clare the rule of St. Benedict to follow, as he desired to graft his new foundation on to the old Order, so as to give it a canonical basis, one already recognized by Holy Church. St. Francis determined that Clare should not imitate the rich convents of Benedictines then in Umbria, but should go ...More

The feast of St. Clare is also the date when His Holiness Pope Pius XII issued his Encyclical Humani Generis in which he warned Catholics of the false opinions and errors threatening to undermine the holy Faith. A few months later on November 1 His Holiness would declare the Dogma of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, body and soul into Heaven with his encyclical Munificentissimus Deus. It would be the Last Infallible Proclamation from the Seat of Peter. Since that time nothing has been spoken ex cathedra. We can see how those in charge today totally ignored his sage words of Humani Generis and furiously forged ahead with their agendas so that when His Holiness passed away on October 9, 1958, all hell would break loose and did with the Modernists gaining control and eclipsing the very Church Christ established on earth with a counterfeit ape that has done everything in its power to destroy the Truths and Traditions of holy Mother Church with the origins of "aggiornamento" in aiding the prince of the world to gain countless souls for God's chief adversary, causing Heaven to weep how the wolves in sheep's clothing have totally pulled the wool over the flocks' eyes as Papa Pacelli had warned 64 years ago today in his encyclical Humani Generis

    Nor suffer by smallest
         Defect to be stained,
    That Mother whom He
         For Himself had ordained. Amen.

    I dwell in the highest.

In this installment St. Louis de Montfort speaks of the glorious crown, "Ever since Blessed Alan de la Roche re-established this devotion the voice of the people, which is the voice of God, called it the Rosary. The word Rosary means 'Crown of Roses,' that is to say that every time people say the Rosary devoutly they place a crown of one hundred and fifty-three red roses and sixteen white roses upon the heads of Jesus and Mary. Being heavenly flowers these roses will never fade or lose their exquisite beauty." He offers a Seventh Rose for a Crown of Roses

In our mission to bring you all fifteen mysteries of Mary's holy Psalter this month, John Gregory completes the Joyful Mysteries with a comprehensive reflection/meditation and study on the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple where see that This mystery marks the final public appearance of Jesus from the time He was twelve until He reached thirty. In this mystery in the Temple we see the relationship between Mother and Son. In Mary's few words we see expressed the loving and concerned motherly compassion that so well defines her role for us as her children today, and in her Divine Son's reply is laid out the mission realized in The Fifth Joyful Mystery: The Finding of the Child Jesus

      Hail, Virginal Mother,
           Hail, purity's cell,
      Fair shrine where the Trinity
           Loveth to dwell.
From Sext in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

In this installment St. Louis de Montfort traces several marvelous examples down through the ages of the importance of the Rosary. "It would hardly be possible for me to put into words how much Our Lady thinks of the Holy Rosary and of how she vastly prefers it to all other devotions. Neither can I sufficiently express how highly she rewards those who work to preach the devotion, to establish it and spread it, nor on the other hand how firmly she punishes those who work against it." He offers then an Eighth Rose for the Marvels of the Rosary

As early as the Seventh Century the preparation, by a solemn fast, for keeping devoutly the great festival of the Assumption, is described as a custom of great antiquity. The renowned and venerable Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger weighs in on the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary on this vigil of her being assumed into Heaven by her divine Son. He writes: "What in this dawn before which the brightest constellations pale? Laurence, who has been shining in the August heavens as an incomparable star, is well nigh eclipsed and becomes but the humble satellite of the Queen of Saints, whose triumph is preparing beyond the clouds. Mary stayed on earth after her Son's Ascension, in order to give birth to His Church; but she could not remain for ever in exile. Yet she was not to take her flight to Heaven until this new fruit of her maternity had acquired the ...more on the Dormition of the BVM

St. Louis de Montfort turns deadly serious in warning those who hinder others from praying the holy Rosary that there will be hell to pay. "It is very wicked indeed and unfair to other souls to hinder the progress of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary. Almighty God has severely punished many of those who have been so benighted as to scorn the Confraternity and who have sought to destroy it." Indeed we must be alert and on the watch for if we are not careful then something wicked this way will come and overcome us unless we stay faithful by praying her Rosary with a Ninth Rose: Enemies

The Double of the First Class Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. Blessed Mary lived, cared for by St. John, for twelve years after Our Lord's Resurrection. Her life was spent in helping the Apostles and in praying for the conversion of the world. On the third day after Mary's death, when the Apostles gathered around her tomb, they found it empty. The sacred body had been carried up to the celestial paradise. Jesus Himself came to conduct her thither the whole court of heaven came to welcome with songs of triumph the Mother of the Divine Word. Why was Mary's body received into heaven instead of remaining in the earth, like the rest of mankind? The grave had no ...more on today's Solemnity

Day Two

We divert from the regular rotation of the mysteries we're bringing you this month to coincide with the feast and mystery. For the Fourth Glorious Mystery of the Assumption reflection John Gregory focuses on His Holiness Pope Pius XII's decree in proclaiming the Dogma on November 1, 1950 with his encyclical Munificentissimus Deus. John takes this papal decree and divides it with the first part applying to the Fourth Mystery of the Rosary on the Assumption of Our Lady into Heaven. The belief of this dogmatic fact was long held by the Magisterium of the Church from the very time of the Blessed Mother being lifted up into Heaven, yet never fully proclaimed as a definitive Dogma until Pius, in complete harmony with all the authentic bishops of the Church, decreed it. This inspiring papal decree is the compendium for this meditation. In honor of this month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, he shares his reflection on The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven

      Thou land set apart
           From uses profane,
      And free from the curse
           Which in Adam began.
From Sext in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

The Rosary truly works wonders. All we need to do is remember the Battle of Lepanto and Vienna, but there are other examples that St. Louis de Montfort shares of the Rosary's miraculous powers for he says, "While Saint Dominic was preaching the Rosary in Carcassone, a heretic made fun of the miracles and the fifteen mysteries of the Holy Rosary, and this prevented other heretics from being converted. As a punishment God suffered fifteen thousand devils to enter the man's body. His parents took him to Father Dominic to be delivered from the evil spirits. He started to pray and begged everyone who was there to say the Rosary out loud with him, and at each Hail Mary Our Lady drove one hundred devils out of the heretic's body and they came out in the form of red hot coals." St. Louis offers more with a Tenth Rose on Miracles

The excellence of a fruit is always a sign of the quality of the tree which bore it. In the case of St. Joachim, the Immaculate Conception of Mary reflects a splendid glory on the chaste union of her parents. The Gospels speak of a sister of Our Lady who accompanied her even to the foot of the cross. According to some authorities she too was a daughter of St. Anne and of St. Joachim. His feast was first introduced into the Breviary by Pope Julius II, who fixed the date of March 20. Pope Leo XIII (Joachim Pecci) raised it to a double of the second class. In the reform of the Breviary carried out by Pope Saint Pius X, August 16th was the date fixed. The close relationship which existed between the his grandson Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and St. Joachim confers on the latter of great dignity, raising him above other saints, so that the honor paid to him is reflected upon Christ Himself in a special manner and upon His Immaculate Mother. They loved him and ...More

Day Three

We begin today the Sorrowful Mysteries as John Gregory provides a comprehensive reflection/meditation and study of the Agony in the Garden. Thus at the Mount of Olivet we begin, with our Lord, the grueling trek to Calvary. There in the Garden He was alone for even His Apostles could not watch one hour with Him. How lonely it must have been, how harrowing the agony to see our sins and transgressions. How can we ease His suffering? By resolving not to place ourselves in the occasions of sin; by being part of the hope and light that sustained Him and encouraged Him to continue His course for He was a man, like us in every way, save for sin. Why, oh, why do we persist in offending the Son of God? And yet, while we still expect God to do so much for us, are we willing to spend even an hour a day with Him and for Him? The First Sorrowful Mystery: The Agony in the Garden

    Thou city of God,
         Thou gate of the East,
    In thee is all grace,
O joy of the blest. Amen.

As the lilly among the thorns,
So is my beloved among the daughters of Adam.
    O Lady, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto thee.

From Sext in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

Today St. Louis de Montfort begins the part two of how to recite Mary's holy Rosary and how important and beautiful the prayers are, after all they came from Heaven. He notes that "The Creed or the Symbol of the Apostles, which is said on the Crucifix of the Rosary is a holy summary of all Christian truths. It is a prayer that has great merit because faith is the root, foundation and beginning of all Christian virtues, of all eternal virtues and also of all prayers that are pleasing to Almighty God. 'He that cometh to God, must believe . . .'." The latter he quotes from Hebrews 11: 6 as he cites the first prayer - the Apostles Creed as he offers an Eleventh Rose for The Creed

The Church gives us today a true notion of Christian humility. The liturgy reminds us that the humble soul is blessed to recognize its nothingness only on this condition Our sanctification is an impossible work if we undertake it alone, since our acts are only supernatural if they proceed from the Holy Ghost. Left to ourselves, we are powerless and given to sin, it is to God that we owe its avoidance or its pardon, and that we are even able to pronounce the name of Jesus affirming His divinity (Epistle). Wherefore, in the Gospel of the Pharisee and the Publican, the Master stigmatizes the pride which makes us put our trust in ourselves and always shows itself in our contempt for others. This pride is ...More

Day Four

To enhance each Sunday's Epistle and Gospel we present this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. For the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost we have as the theme man's pride and forgetting who he really is for without God he is nothing. St. Paul bears this out in his Epistle to the Corinthians in warning that the spirit (Holy Ghost) cannot deceive, knows all and knows which gifts to bestow. Likewise in the Gospel God knows man's heart and though he might act humble, he who strives to be exalted will be humbled, as will he who broadcasts that he is 'humble' like a certain Argentinian, but he who credits God for whatever he has, be they gifts or crosses, will be exalted by God. After all, that's really all that matters. The Essence of Humility

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a 12-minute sermon from a few years ago for the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph Seminary at the City of Mary in Rathdrum, Idaho. Father points to Our Lord's words in the Gospel and urges us to be careful when we see something to not make rash judgments for then we can be as guilty as the pharisee. While we must judge the words and actions of others, we must also remember we never know their heart and must leave it to God to judge that. But we should, like St. Paul entreats us, to rebuke, reprieve, entreat but always with great charity and doctrine. If we are not sure, then remain humble for humility is the failsafe way to stay on God's good side since the more publican like we can be, the better our chances of Heaven as Father encourages with the wise advice: Let Us Humble Ourselves

Day Five

We continue with the Sorrowful Mysteries as John Gregory provides a comprehensive reflection/meditation and study of the cruel scourging Jesus endured. By our sins we scourge our dear Lord anew. Do we take pleasure in such masochism to our souls and to pure Love that we would continue to beat Christ? By tending to our souls, and examining our words, actions and thoughts at the healing font of Divine Mercy - the Confessional - we receive the salve of salvific Sanctifying Grace. Through the Sacrament of Penance we can put a halt to the scourging, and apply dabs of sincere love to close and comfort those terrible wounds on His precious flesh; wounds we helped open. The Second Sorrowful Mystery: The Scourging at the Pillar

Day Six

John Gregory continues with a meditative reflection on each of the fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary, today we present inspiration on the third sorrowful mystery. Just as the Jews cried out in pride to patronize Pilate "We have no king but Caesar," so also we, who are true sons of God, must, in all humility, state unequivocally: "We have no King but Jesus." Where He is mocked, we offer humble prayer of reparation and expiation for these terrible sins against the Incarnate Word so cruelly tortured and disfigured. We know Christ is our only King as He gives testimony of this truth in John 18: 37 and it is our mission on earth to restore all things in Christ as Pope St. Pius called the faithful to do. Unfortunately, a century later we have uncrowned Him. See The Third Sorrowful Mystery: The Crowning with Thorns

In this installment St. Louis de Montfort completes his explanation of that most complete prayer - the Lord's Prayer - the Pater Noster - the Our Father said at the beginning of each of the fifteen decades of Mary's holy Psalter, as well as immediately following the Apostles Creed at the beginning of the holy Rosary. St. Louis de Montfort gave us several prayers and reflections including not only "The Secret of the Rosary", but the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception with one of the stanzas from the Hour of None above. Here St. Louis offers a Fourteenth Rose on the Our Father

Saint Bernard was born at the castle of Fontaines, in Burgundy near Dijon, in 1090. The grace of his person and the vigor of his intellect filled his parents with the highest hopes, and the world lay bright and smiling before him. But Bernard renounced it forever to join the monks of Citeaux, a few miles distant. Four of his brothers and a group of friends, thirty young Christians in all, went when he did to Citeaux, leaving the youngest brother, Nivard, to be the mainstay of his father in his old age. "You will now be heir to everything," they said to him as they departed. "Yes," said the boy; "you leave me the earth, and keep Heaven for yourselves; do you consider that fair?" And he too left the world. At length their aged father came also, exchanging wealth and honor for the poverty of a monk in the monastery of Clairvaux, which Bernard with a band of monks founded in the diocese of Langres in 1115. One sister alone remained behind; she was married, and loved the world and its pleasures. Splendidly clothed, one day she came to visit Bernard, and he refused to see her. He finally consented to do so, not as her brother but as the minister of Christ. The words he then spoke moved her so deeply that two years later she retired to a convent with her husband's consent, dying later in the reputation of sanctity. Bernard's holy example attracted so many novices that ...More

Day Seven

On this day exactly a century ago the holy Giuseppe Cardinal Sarto passed away. Of course most knew him better as Pope Pius X who was born on June 2, 1835 and died at the age of 79 at the outset of World War I from a heart attack. Many believe it was his feeling of helplessness in stopping the terrible conflagration of Catholic Europe that prompted his heart to stop. During his life he did all he could to shore up the holy Faith including trying to safeguard holy Mother Church from the "synthesis of all heresies" Modernism which, unfortunately, raised its ugly head at Vatican 2 with devastating consequences. For more on the last true Pope to be canonized, see Pope St. Pius X - Pope of the Holy Eucharist

Saint Bernard of Clairvaux was a truly dedicated man who turned his back on the world and built monasteries throughout western Europe and was the confidante of popes and kings, beggars and paupers. He was the main man in preaching the purpose of the Crusade to recover the holy land where Our Lord and Savior walked. Bernard traversed the continent stirring men through prayer and reason, never compromising the Truths and Traditions. He was responsible for the revival of the Cistercian Order. This holy and mystic Abbot from France composed one of the most beautiful prayers ever created the Memorare out of a thorough devotion to Our Lady. See more on this Crusading Hammer of Heretics

    As the Savior of Egypt

    So the world's great Redeemer
         Was cherished by thee. Amen.

And the original stain was never in thee.
    O Lady, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto thee.

In this installment St. Louis de Montfort now begins an explanation of that very Angelic Salutation that today we simply call the Hail Mary. We can see how much St. Louis loves Our Lady in all his works, especially in The Secret of the Rosary and the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception with the above stanza in the Office of None. The Hail Mary represents a spiritual rose offered to Heaven in a bouquet of ten for each decade. He explains in offering Fifteenth Rose for the Angelic Salutation

Saint Jane Frances de Chantal was born in Dijon, France in 1572, the daughter of Benigne Fremyot, president of the parliament in Burgundy, and married at twenty to Baron Christopher de Chantal who died in 1601. Nobility and riches were there for the asking for Jane Fances, but she used them wisely for the honor and glory of God. After nine years of marriage and seven children, Jane became a widow when her husband was killed in a hunting accident. Three years later she was touched in the deepest way by a sermon of Saint Francis de Sales for it was he who she had seen in a previous vision and because of this spiritual experience, persuaded him to be her spiritual director. After securing stability for her children, she turned to religious life. Though she ...More

Day Eight

John Gregory continues with a meditative reflection on each of the fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary, today we present his take on the fourth sorrowful mystery. The time continuum between the Praetorium where the Jews screeched 'Crucify Him!', and the moment He arrived at the summit of Calvary could well have taken thirty minutes to an hour and a half. In this time, we have in the Via Crucis, several lessons we can garner from this interval, including His reunion with His Sorrowful Mother, the aid of Simon of Cyrene, the gentle charity of Veronica, the weeping of the women of Jerusalem, and three cruel falls along the way; each more crushing and exhausting. Despite all this, the question arises: do we have the spiritual stamina to keep up with Him? John provides ways to assure we can in The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery: The Carrying of the Cross

           On thee the true sun
      Told backward the course
Which from old he had run.

St. Louis de Montfort continues on the Hail Mary, in this chapter he describes the beauty of the Angelic Salutation for Mary was preserved pure from here conception on and remained pure and innocent as Michelle Maher so beautifully depicts Our Lady as a young Jewish lady who was so faithful, showing why she was chosen from all time by God to be the living tabernacle for the Father's only begotten-Son, but only by her cooperation in her fiat that "Thy will be done." To see a larger image, click on the image above. As the second Eve, Mary was groomed to be earthly vessel for her divine Spouse the Holy Ghost. St. Louis offers a Sixteenth Rose on the Beauty of the Immaculate

Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary always flourished in the Church, but its first official approval did not come till the beginning of the 19th century when Pope Pius VI approved, for certain religious organizations, a Feast for the Most Pure Heart of Mary. The devotion was approved for the universal Church when Pope Pius XII dedicated all mankind to the Heart of Mary in December, 1942, following this by the ...More

Today is also the Octave Day of the Assumption. We invite you to listen to an inspirational talk given by Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI at the Fatima Conference four years ago titled "My Immaculate Heart is the Way that I will lead you to God"

Day Nine

When the venerable renowned Benedictine Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger wrote The Liturgical Year there was no feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for it was still considered merely the Octave Day of the Assumption, yet what he wrote for this day applies so well to the feast day established for the universal Church by His Holiness Pope Pius XII during the Second World War in 1942. Needless to say, in his heart the Prior of Solesmes Abbe Gueranger knew of the devotion to Mary's Most Pure Heart for His Holiness Pope Pius VI had already approved the feast for certain religious houses, most probably the Benedictines as well at that time in the early nineteenth century and he began his masterful work L'Annee Liturgique - The Liturgical Year in the mid-1800's. And that man might be raised

From Vespers in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

This feast of the Immaculate Heart wasn't universally observed during St. Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort's life, but his works and dedication to her Immaculate Heart no doubt encouraged devotion that has surpassed the test of time with his timeless work The Secret of the Rosary and his Little Office of the Immaculate Conception above. He continues with explaining the magnificence of the Hail Mary - the Angelic Salutation the comprises the bulk of Mary's holy Psalter - by producing for readers the fruits of this wonderful prayer. As we pray for Mary's Immaculate Heart to triumph as she promised at Fatima long after St. Louis de Montfort had passed, we ask this devoted slave of Our Lady to intercede for us and help us also to produce fruits from praying the holy Rosary as we see as he offers a Seventeenth Rose on the Fruits of the Aves

St. Philip Benizi was born in Florence on the feast of the Assumption in 1233. He was one of the first to profess the religious life as a Servite, and in time became general of the Order. With his brethren he preached in many countries of Europe, and journeyed even into western Asia to spread the Christian faith. In his humility he refused honors and even the Papacy, which was offered him by the cardinals assembled in conclave. He entered into the glory of Heaven in the year 1285. It is said that when he was dying he repeatedly asked for his book, and when the infirmarian did not understand his meaning the saint made signs that he wanted his crucifix, which was the book in which he was accustomed to meditate. August 23rd is also the Vigil of St. Bartholomew, Apostle. Like the other Apostles, the holy Nathanael or Bartholomew, a true Israelite, sincere and without guile, as Our Lord and Savior Himself testified, was ...More

We complete today the Sorrowful Mysteries as John Gregory provides a comprehensive reflection/meditation and study of the Crucifixion and Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the darkest moment when hope seems hopeless. All have abandoned Him except the few - the Magdalen, the beloved Disciple, and, of course, His loving Mother Mary. Three hours remain. From the sixth hour to the ninth hour Jesus Christ, the King of kings, the Lord and Savior, Redeemer and Messias, hung in abject humility upon a tree, mocked and derided as the few faithful stood near. After three hours they would all know that this man was the Son of God. Many would not admit it. Pride would not let them. But for those who were sincere, such as the good thief and the centurion; they had to be honest with themselves. So also we must be honest with ourselves as we stand with the few at the foot of the csross. For this is the moment of truth. We present here a rendition of the Pieta by Michelle R. Maher. It is the darkest hour. Christ has died. He is laid in the arms of His beloved Mother and we can only weep with her. The Fifth Sorrowful Mystery: The Crucifixion

Today St. Louis de Montfort completes his explanation of the Hail Mary in showing the blessings of this Angelic Salutation that comes directly from Heaven. Other than Christ's perfect Pater Noster there is no more beautiful or powerful prayer that can shed blessings on those who recite her holy Psalter as St. Louis de Montfort relates in his work The Secret of the Rosary and in his magnificent words of praise to Mary in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception above. Thus he offers an Eighteenth Rose for This heavenly Salutation

In the Gospel of St. John, the Apostle Bartholomew is not mentioned among the Apostles, but it is stated that Philip and Nathaniel came to Jesus, and that Our Lord said of Nathaniel, "the Israelite in whom was no guile." In the list of the apostles in the other Gospels, Nathaniel is not mentioned, but after Philip is placed Bartholomew. The Redeemer chose all the apostles at once, and formed them from the beginning into a hierarchial group with St. Peter at their head, in order to show us that the rightful priesthood instituted by Christ is that which is derived in unbroken succession from the twelve apostles chosen by Our Savior, and being in communion with the See of Peter, is also in communion with the entire Catholic episcopate. Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a seven minute sermon on St. Bartholomew the Apostle by Bishop Daniel Dolan, pastor of St. Gertrude the Great in the Ohio's Queen City of Cincinnati, given seven years ago on the Apostle who was skinned alive for the holy Faith in Armenia. The bishop relates that we too will be hated because we cling to the truth. And yes, the truth will be hated. If we love truth and hate evil, we will eventually bring down evil, maybe not in our lifetime but we can play a part on this and by doing so help to populate Heaven. The bishop speaks of the Armenian Church which fell into the heresy of not agreeing that Christ had both a divine and human nature. The bishop notes what an obstacle heresy is and especially those in the CONciLIAR church who look the other way in the face of so many heresies today. He explains in his sermon on St. Bartholomew

For the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost John Gregory provides the Haydock Commentary where we see how St. Paul gives witness that only through the grace of God has he been able to accomplish what God has aided, elevated and cured of sin. That is the message of the Gospel indicating that the deaf and blind man represents the spiritual blindness and deafness mankind has contracted by turning from God and embracing the chaotic din of the world, the flesh and the devil which, ironically, causes spiriritual deafness and dumbness. Really dumb! Yet, with just one word from our Lord "Ephpheta" the man in the gospel is healed. So also by absolution in the Sacrament of Penance by a valid, truly ordained priest, can one's soul be similarly healed. Just a simple Ephpheta proves Christ's point Just a simple Ephpheta proves Christ's point

John Gregory provides a comprehensive reflection/meditation and study on the Resurrection as we begin the Glorious Mysteries. Here John takes the words of each of the Evangelists in color-coding their account of this miraculous event for what better meditation can be provided than this as the best meditation to inspire on the Resurrection of Our Lord and what followed up to His Ascension can be gleaned from Sacred Scripture and the holy Gospels of the Four Evangelists. John lays it all out in The First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection

John Gregory continues to provide inspiration for this month when we honor the 800th Anniversary of Mary's holy Psalter with today covering the Second Glorious Mystery. The Son of God has gone to prepare a place for us, and thus the effects of the Ascension remain an on-going mystery for Christ continues to prepare for us at the Father's right hand and in that wondrous news is extended the greatest hope to all for where Christ has gone He waits for us to follow in a place of everlasting happiness for those who are obedient to His teachings and cooperate with the divine Will. Just as Jesus left instructions for His Apostles, He has left us inerrant instructions that, if we follow fully, will assure us of being with Him forever. John provides reflections on The Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension

St. Louis de Montfort gave us several prayers and reflections including not only "The Secret of the Rosary", but the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception with one of the stanzas from the Hour of Compline above. Here, in explaining the reasons to remember the life of Christ and Mary's role, St. Louis offers a Twenty-First Rose on why Fifteen (and only Fifteen!) is Significant

St. Joseph Calasanctius was born in Aragon in 1556. Having become a priest it was revealed to him that he should teach the children of the poor. He founded the Order of the Poor Clerks Regular of the Pious Schools of the Mother of God. He was ever a devout pilgrim at the shrines of the martyrs, and daily visited the seven Churches of Rome, where he lived for fifty years. He died August 25, 1648. This is also the historical feast of the Seven Joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary. They are the Annunciation, the Nativity of Christ, Epiphany, the Resurrection, the Ascension, Pentecost and Mary's Coronation as Queen of Heaven and earth. You'll note how the first two correlate with the Joyful Mysteries and four comprise the Glorious Mysteries. ...More

Following John Gregory meditation on the Second Glorious Mystery just over a week ago, he returns with inspiration for the Solemnity of the Descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles in a meditation of the Third Glorious Mystery. Fifty days after our Lord Jesus Christ conquered death and ten days after He bodily ascended into Heaven, He made good on His promise to send His Spirit. The Holy Ghost came with a rush of grace and inspiration, transforming the formerly apprehensive Apostles into men of virtuous courage who were now ready to fully take up the command Christ had given them. The charism of the Church was born that day and the Faith spread rapidly with three thousand on the first day. A glorious day it was! John provides reflections on The Third Glorious Mystery: Pentecost

We can see how much St. Louis loves Our Lady in all his works, especially in The Secret of the Rosary and the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception with the above stanza in the Office of Compline. The Hail Mary represents a spiritual rose offered to Heaven in a bouquet of ten for each decade. In this installment St. Louis de Montfort shares how the Rosary is a beautiful way to imitate Christ in so many ways and in honoring His holy Mother. He explains in offering a Twenty-Second Rose for Imitating Our Lord

It was the combined efforts of two saints who had the greatest effects on the life of one of the great Doctors of the Church Saint Augustine of Hippo. Augustine's mother Saint Monica played a major behind the scenes role in his conversion, while Saint Ambrose was on the front line with Augustine, who had become a great skeptic, teaching, influencing and converting him. Augustine was born in Tagaste in what is today Algeria on November 13, 354. By the time he was 30 he was preaching rhetoric, interspersed with Manichean heresy, at the university of Milan. It was there he ...More

Saint Augustine is one of the greatest Doctors of the Church, one of the greatest single intellects ever. Like the Apostle St. Paul, he began as a notorious sinner, embracing heresy after heresy, but when grace finally touched him through the prayer and reparation of others, this Saul turned into a Paul and his cries for truth were mostly heard and responded to in Heaven by the relentless efforts and graces of his loving, persevering mother St. Monica and his mentor, the Bishop of Milan, the holy Doctor of the Church Saint Ambrose, who is credited with the conversion of this man from Hippo. Sadly today neither Augustine, his mother Monica nor Ambrose nor all the saints who passed through this veil of tears over the centuries, would recognize the CONciLIAR counterfeit church as Catholic. They would have denounced from the beginning the aggiornamento and "new springtime" as heretical and extremely harmful to souls. See Doctor of Grace

St. Louis de Montfort continues on the reasons for the Hail Mary, which is a joy to say throughout beginning with the Joyful Mysteries and Mary's role, then in remembering His sacrifices via the Sorrowful Mysteries where we must unite with Christ and carry our cross, then rejoicing with Him in the Glorious and Our Lady's ultimate triumph in Heaven as we await her triumph on earth and why the refrain in Compline above by St. Louis de Montfort is so beautiful. Here he asks us to remember as he offers a Twenty-Third Rose on why we Pray

Besides the chief feast of St. John the Baptist, that of his nativity, the Church commemorates on the twenty-ninth of August, his glorious death and birth into Heaven. Ever since the Fourth Century in Africa, in the East, in Syria, and in many places all over the world, the beheading of St. John the Baptist has been commemorated on August 29th. When in 362, pagans violated the tomb and burned his remains, some parts were saved by monks, and taken to St. Athanasius at Alexandria. The head is said to have been preserved at Jerusalem, and may later have been ...More

John Gregory completes the fifteen mysteries today, having covered the Fourth Glorious Mystery on the Solemnity of the Assumption, today he provides a contemplative, meditative treatise on the Fifth Glorious Mystery. What greater glory can there be for a lifetime of devotion and uncompromising fiat to the divine will than to be recognized for all time what the Blessed Mother accomplished in being crowned by her divine Son and heavenly Father with the assistance of the Holy Ghost, her divine Spouse. It is a lesson for us that indeed there is a light at the end of this worldly tunnel, a light from the Beatific Vision attainable only by adhering willingly and lovingly to the will of Almighty God for she is the Woman of the Apocalypse, with a crown of twelve stars. John shares his thoughts on The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven and earth

Our entire goal in life is to strive to be saints. We have the edification of the saints to emulate and the wonderful sacramental of the holy Rosary as St. Louis de Montfort points out as a means of striving for holiness. And the Commendation above penned by St. Louis we lay at Our Lady's feet as we seek sanctity through a devotion to her holy Psalter for it truly is a means of perfection that Heaven sent us through the obedient St. Dominic, then Blessed Alan de la Roche, St. Alphonsus Liguouri and St. Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort to assure that generation after generation would carry on the legacy of saving souls through fidelity to saying the Ave's. For this installment, he offers a Twenty-Fourth Rose to represent a method for Striving for Sanctification

Saint Rose, the first canonized saint of the New World, was born at Lima in 1586. She received the name of Isabella in Baptism, but one day her mother saw a beautiful rose drooping over the baby's cradle and ever afterwards called her Rose. She was an obedient child; her mortifications were most severe. She prayed worked, and wept for the conversion of sinners; she excelled in her love for holy purity. She lived a life of simplicity and prayer in a small hut in a corner of her father's garden; the birds would visit her and sing with her the praises of God. The Savior frequently appeared to her. Her devotion to the Passion of Our Lord was remarkable as were her own sufferings. Her bed was strewn with glass shards, with nails and thorns; she wore chafing hair-cloth; her head was crowned with painful thorns skillfully concealed by roses. She died August 26, 1617. Her Office was written by the eminent Cardinal Bona. There is also a commemoration of the holy martyrs Saint Felix and Saint Adauctus. St. Felix suffered martyrdom in the year 303, and was joined by Adauctus, who shared his martyr crown. There is a painting, which ...More

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a twenty-minute sermon on the feasts of St. Rose of Lima that was, five years ago, superseded by the Sunday liturgy. The bishop likens her to the Samaritan who offered everything up, surviving her fair share of abuses. Her chastity and humility were such that she not only fasted, but did all she could not to be vain, even wrapping three length of chains around herself. Yes, that may seem extreme, but it showed how important she considered how deadly temptation and sin were. His Excellency describes the penances of this saint and only can be understood by how God saw her. She was always childlike with full joy and love for the cross. She had so much zeal for conversion of souls. She had to deal with the racism of her time for there has always been racism due to Original sin where some considered others as sub-human, especially the Spanish. Rose's penance did much to expiate these sins, evident by the miracle of roses falling from the sky. He explains further in his sermon on St. Rose of Lima

      Be thou my true guide

      And stand by my side
           When death draweth near.

On this feast of St. Rose we reach the twenty-fifth rose offered by St. Louis de Montfort, the half-way point, if you will, in a bouquet of inspiration offered to us to help us better appreciate the richness of the Rosary for no wealth in the world can compare to the riches we gain through this pilgrimage here as we ask Mary at the end of each Hail Mary to be with us now and at the hour of our death. Yes, it is that link that will enable Our Lady to guide us to the heavenly gate where her influence will help greatly with the divine Judge at our Particular Judgment as she has promised. Here St. Louis offers a Twenty-Fifth Rose for the Riches of the Rosary

On this tenth Saturday of the Fifteen we stand beneath the Cross for those three agonizing hours and then when most have left, we weep with the Blessed Mother as she holds her lifeless divine Son in her arms. Would we have walked away when He died or would we have joined Mary and the few who remained until the bitter end? Tenth Saturday

We have been initiated into spiritual life by the Sacrament of Baptism and strengthened, perfected, by the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Feast of Pentecost has celebrated the efficaciousness of Baptism and Confirmation: the graces and fruits given by the Holy Ghost. The Church recalls in the Liturgy today the duty of charity which derives therefrom. The law of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect development of the Law of Moses as the Epistle points out. Let us not follow a pharisaical interpretation of the law which reduces our religious duties to a few outward practices. "The letter killeth, the spirit quickeneth." For the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost John Gregory provides the Haydock Commentary where Father Haydock brings out the importance of the Good Samaritan parable for it is, as the Fathers and early Doctors of the Church all agree, an allegory of the New Covenant. The victim in dire help is Adam, his posterity is Jerusalem. The man, by heading for Jericho is seeking the world, the flesh and the devil, is accommodated by the demons personified in the robbers, who take grace from him by beating him as he succumbs to sin. Those who pass by him without helping represent the old Law, while the Samaritan is Christ Who represents the New Law. His beast of burden signifies our Lord's humanity and the inn He brings the man to represents the only Church He founded. The wine for the man is the Blood of Christ, the oil is His mercy. The host of the inn represents St. Peter and his succession of true Popes and Hierarchy. The charge to go and do in like manner

Thanks to Traditional Catholic Sermons we are able to bring you a seventeen minute sermon for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost in which Bishop Daniel Dolan, pastor of St. Gertrude the Great in the Ohio's Queen City of Cincinnati, proves that Bergoglio should look in the mirror for he is the true pelagian. In truth, the Argentine has no concept of what Pelagianism is as the bishop explains that heresy where man can save himself. This is what Fr. Fahey called the "organized horses of naturalism" - played out by the Masons and Vatican 2. He then shows how the Novus Ordo is Pelagian for the sacraments are skewered beginning with Baptism and carrying out through the rest of them which were drastically changed to please man, while eschewing the divinely ordained sacraments. The modern church is man-centered, barren of saints and the sacred. Every year it strips away any semblance of Catholicism left. Thus, in every way The Novus Ordo Is Pelagian

There is a bough in which no blur of either kind,
original or wrought, hath touched the Virgin rind.

In thy Conception, O Virgin,
   thou wast immaculate.
Pray for us to the Father,
Whose Son thou didst bear. Amen.

From The Commendation in the Little Office of the Immaculate Conception

As we finish above St. Louis de Montfort's Little Office of the Immaculate Conception on this last day of August, we continue his masterful work The Secret of the Rosary in commemoration of the 800th Anniversary of bequeathing Mary's holy Psalter to St. Dominic. Thus, today St. Louis encourages us to take the example of the saints who preached the immense value of the holy Rosary. We can take heart in how they exemplified themselves through their devotion to the Rosary and how it strengthened them in whatever travails they faced edifying so many as St. Louis de Montfort offers a Twenty-Sixth Rose to Follow the Saints' Example

On August 31 we begin the Novena for the Nativity of Our Lady that will last through September 8, the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This Novena, celebrating the birth of the precious Immaculate daughter to Sts. Anne and Joachim, was approved well before Vatican 2 with a Nihil Obstat: Iacobus P. King, I.C.D. Censor Deputatus. Imprimatur: Bryan Iosephus McEntegart, D.D., LL.D. Episcopus Bruklyniensis. It is a beautiful Novena with a different short prayer for each day. Thus we presesnt Day One of Novena for the Nativity of Mary

As much as we hate to beg, we have no choice. If you have benefited in anyway from what we have published, we humbly ask your help to keep this publication on line. We know that so many of our readers are unable to assist at a true traditional Latin Mass because of where they live and use the daily liturgy we publish to gain the efficacious graces possible through their prayers at home. We remain the only publication in the world to provide such and are grateful to God that we can provide such nourishment for souls. If you have not donated before, isn't it only right and proper to donate now? Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Just click the button below or send a check/money order to the address below. We are a bonafide non-profit 501c(3) religious association and all donations are tax-deductible. Whatever you would have contributed toward any bloated political campaigns or thrown away in the conciliar collection plates that only goes to covering up the sins of its presbyters and false primates while destroying all semblence of Catholicism, why not earmark it for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic? After all, shouldn't we all take St. Paul's strong counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to heart and "stand firm, and hold the traditions which you have learned"?

To fortify why the CONciLIAR church is the false church, see key Papal Decrees that preceded it in pre-Vatican Two times by true Popes who solidly condemned the V2 false 'popes' who have spit in Heaven's Face. God will not be mocked. See for yourself what the infallible, perennial Magisterium of the Church has decreed:

We encourage you to learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass - the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in these videos at this link because each time you worthily assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in person, you gain graces that are placed in a "golden chalice", so to speak, and is offered to God to be weighed in substance when you stand before Him at your Particular Judgment. The more you have filled this chalice, the better will it go for your spiritual welfare in eternity, enhanced by your cooperation with grace. Know the Mass

To assist all in striving toward holiness, click on the Confessional to your right to review your transgressions through a thorough Examination of Conscience

When One Cannot physically assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we provide additional prayers that can be supplemented with the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and the PROPER OF THE DAY to enable you to better prepare yourself at home. Of course, this never replaces actually being there, but it is much better than attending the Novus Ordo services. Therefore we have gleaned from The Key of Heaven prayers to say at home. It is very comforting to know that the Holy Mass is offered for us even when we are not actually present. But to enjoy the benefits which it procures, we must by a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION become partakers of the altar from which we are temporarily banished. Here we provide prayers in preparation for fulfilling assistance in absentia in addition to the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and PROPER OF THE DAY. PRAYERS IN ABSENTIA

    The Fatima Prayers

My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
