Missa "Deus in loco santo suo"

The Church puts her hope in God from whom she receives her help (Gradual). Our Lord has healed the wounds of mankind (Offertory) and has given us strength and courage (Introit). The theme is infinite charity and the mercy of God.

St. Paul repeats to the Corinthians the miraculous transformation which has taken place in him through the grace of God (Epistle).

The healing of the deaf and dumb, related by St. Mark, is the story of divine mercy towards each one of us (Gospel). Deaf to the teachings of the Master, we had become dumb by sin and incapable of praising God. But repeating, according to His command, what Christ did, the Church in baptism has opened our ears and loosed our tongue, so that henceforth we may hear the divine word and freely proclaim our faith.

We want to thank the Friends of Our Lady of Fatima for expediting these resources of the Propers. Sources: Saint Andrew Daily Missal and the Marian Missal , 1945

    EPISTLE:   I Corinthians 15: 1 – 10
    Deo Gratias.
Lesson from the Epistle of Blessed Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians. Brethren, I make known unto you the Gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast after what manner I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all, which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures and that He was seen by Cephas, and after that by the eleven. Then He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once of whom many remain until this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the Apostles. And last of all He was seen also by me, as by one born out of due time. For I am the least of the Apostles, who am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am and His grace in me hath not been void.
    Thanks be to God.

    Dominus vobiscum.
    R. Et cum spiritu tuo.
    Sequentia sancti Evangelii secundum Marcum.
    R.Gloria tibi, Domine

    Laus tibi Christe.

    The Lord be with you.
    R. And with thy spirit.
The continuation of the holy Gospel according to Luke. R. Glory to Thee, O Lord

At that time, Jesus going out to the coasts of Tyre, came by Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis. And they bring to Him one deaf and dumb, and they besought Him that He would lay His hand upon him. And taking him from the multitude apart, He put His fingers into his ears, and spitting, He touched his tongue and looking up to heaven, He groaned and said to him: Ephpheta, that is, Be thou opened: and immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke right. And He charged them that they should tell no man: but the more He charged them so much the more a great deal did they publish it and so much the more did they wonder, saying: He hath done all things well He hath made both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
    Praise be to Christ

It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation that we should at all times and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God: through Christ our Lord. Through Whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominations worship it, the Powers stand in awe. The Heavens and the Heavenly hosts together with the blessed Seraphim in triumphant chorus unite to celebrate it. Together with them we entreat Thee, that Thou mayest bid our voices also to be admitted, while we say in lowly praise:
    HOLY, HOLY, HOLY...
