The seeds for this apostolate were planted long ago in our Catholic schooling and home life that was so traditional considering it was pre-Vatican II. The first bud that began to sprout for this apostolate was in 1990, September 29 with a Xerox copy of a flyer that could be considered volume 1, no. 1 of a publication that would go from "Mary's Homes" to "A Call to Peace" to "Catholic-Internet Network" in 1996 to the DailyCatholic on All Saints Day in 1997. Over the years we have graduated through grace from confused conservative conciliar Catholic to SSPX to independent to sedevacantism by connecting the dots and receiving the God-given graces to see, to truly see the only reasonable and logical answer to how we arrived at The Great Apostasy foretold by so many saints, Our Lady, Jesus Christ Himself and St. Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-11 and to heed his counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to stand firm; and hold the traditions which we have learned, and then to not hide what we have learned under a bushel basket, but to do as the Apostle of the Gentiles advises in 2 Timothy 4: 2, "Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine." We do so because we realize the time he foretold is here as he predicted: "For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables." Thus, in our transitory stage we have taken divine revelation to heart and have striven to be "vigilant, labor in all things, do the work of an evangelist" in our limited lay state. But as we have said so many times we cannot do this alone. We need you to not only help through donations, but also through word of mouth to bring more souls into the fold, to unconfuse the confused conciliar Catholics who are in the same state of consternation we were. They say ignorance is bliss, but is it really when you learn the truth of what happened to our beloved Faith? No, one must make choices. Once they know that they are barking up the wrong tree because the Barque of Peter is lacking a true ship's captain, then before God they must make a decision. Learn more, or turn their backs on truth and embrace the fables spun by the Modernists of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. If they choose the latter, then we can but shake the sandals and move on, but at least we all will have tried. That is all God asks of any of us: to try. He does not demand we are successful in our quest, only that we gave it our all. You'd be surprised when you do, how much He comes through! We know God will never let us down, that's a given, but what about someone here on earth to rally around, to look to as a leader? Normally that would be the Holy Father, the Successor of Peter, but since Pope Pius XII's death there has been a void of leadership or legitimate authority. It has been left to the true Successors of the Apostles, the Traditional Bishops to lead. The problem is they are not. They continue to bicker where today several use the sacraments as leverage to browbeat parishioners into staying away from this bishop or that priest, even though said clerics are true. The SSPX is in civil war, inevitable because there can be nothing good to come out of a "Resist yet Recognize" mindset. Fence-sitting never gets results because eventually you will fall off and it may take a while to get back up once you fall. Time is of the essence because we don't know what God's time is, but we do know our own time is short because we are all fallible human beings with fallen human natures. Perhaps that is what the traditional movement needs today. A spiritual Jack Bauer type of take-charge guy who can rally the troops, someone who can be counted on to dedicate his life to going into the valley of death with or without the 500 and win the day for the Lord. We would hope, in honoring hierarchy, that it would be a true pope. Knowing that can only happen by the true bishops taking action, then we pray a Jack Bauer-type prelate will come to the fore who can fire up the faithful. Right now the only one that seems to be stirring things up is Bishop Richard Williamson. Yet, the Resistance he is forming seems more of a shelter from Bishop Bernard Fellay's aberrant attitude in currying favor from the CONciLIARS. While the latter is realizing the grave error of his ways through subtraction, he is not going quietly and waging war against those who dare defy his rule. Many of the priests fleeing to Bishop Williamson realize sedevacantism is a reality, but are still afraid to admit it. Many of the faithful feel the same way but they too are afraid for fear they will be rejected. Too many fear what man thinks, not what God thinks. I have written before what the esteemed writer Atila Sinke Guimaraes admitted to me that he believes God does not recognize the conciliar popes as true popes, but the world does. That is the reason he won't accept sedevacantism. Huh? If God doesn't recognize them as His Vicars of Christ, then man sure as hell shouldn't. To do so mocks God. It's not as if we are standing in judgment of the conciliar 'popes' (read antipopes or worse). No, we are only being obedient to the infallible, perennial Magisterium of the Church which has condemned and anathematized them in previous dogmatic decrees and infallible pronouncements. If those are to be ignored, then it's katie-bar-the-door and terrorism has won; worse, Christ lied and the gates of hell have prevailed. We know that's poppy-cock for we pray the fact everyday in the Act of Faith "We believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches because Thou hast revealed them Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived." So we look to the sedevacantist bishops for a Jack Bauer type. Is he there? Most of these bishops are so swamped bringing the sacraments to souls that they have little time left for pastoral writings, let alone leading others outside their immediate jurisdiction. And jurisdictions have become an achilles heel to many. God bless His Excellency Bishop Louis Vezelis, OFM who just passed away on the first day of this year. He was a good shepherd, but did not take the lead. Rather, he believed he alone had jurisdiction in the United States and alienated many by his stubbornness to cooperate with other bishops or expand. We would hope and pray Bishop Giles Butler, OFM and Bishop Bonaventure Strandt, OFM will take a different tack and realize there is strength in numbers. Bishop Mark Pivarunas, CMRI has been active in expanding parishes, reaching into New England and Alabama and a few other states where there are few or no true Masses. But even though there are nearly three dozen priests, he is still handicapped by not having enough priests to tend to the needs of the faithful clamoring for the true Sacraments. His priests travel an average of 500 miles on weekends, including His Excellency who is not above doing mission work. He has provided several excellent treatises and explanations at the Congregation's official site CMRI.org, but not enough recently because his plate is so full. There are of course Bishop Daniel Dolan and Bishop Donald Sanborn, who have remained pretty much static in their work tending to the same duties while providing some excellent sermons at Traditional Catholic Sermons site and articles and tracts at Traditional Mass website. And then there are numerous other bishops, young and old like Bishops Francis Slupski, Oliver Oravec, Geert Jan Stuyver, Robert Neville and others we're not familiar with who have their hands filled tending to their flocks as well as the SSPV group begun by Bishop Clarence Kelly, CSPV who sadly began the narrow thinking of denying the sacraments to those who were not in full agreement with his position or personal opinions. We would hope Bishop Joseph Santay, CSPV is not as narrow-minded and open to reconciliation with the other traditional bishops. Only by banding together as a united traditional family can we gain strength. So the question is, where is there a Jack Bauer type to come forward and lead the faithful? Oh, there are a few within the laity who have the hutspah and ability, but if we are truly Catholic we should look first to our hierarchy. What will it take to light a fire under their fannies? Will we have to resort to locking the bishops in a Viterbo-like setting and deprive them of all food except bread and water in a replay of the first conclave in which, finally on September 1, 1271, the bishops/cardinals finally elected Pope Gregory X three years after the death of Pope Clement IV in November 1268? That's what Jack Bauer would do, anything to get the right results. Yes, he'd literally raise the roof. Do we have any eligible prelates or priests ready to do the same? We're waiting. We've been waiting 55 years! We're prepared to wait 24 more, but we sure don't want to. We need a leader to unite us, to move the needle, balance the scales so we can end this interminable interregnum, unparalleled in the history of the Church. Griff Ruby has been writing for years the necessity for the Bishops to come together, put aside their differences and unite for the sake of saving souls. That is their primary responsibility and all he is asking, all we are asking, is for our shepherds to carry out their mission. As Griff proves in his series Ecclesiology for Sedevacantists the traditional Bishops are authentic and their succession can no longer be challenged. They have been given their marching orders, now we have to prod them to marshal the trooops and lead us. We will follow. To understand how serious this call to arms is, we would refer the Excellencies to Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's excellent You-Tube series Living in the Shadow of the Cross. There are so many other resources too numerous to mention here, and we refer you to our Traditional Resources Port for some of those. The point is we have the artillery for battle, we just need someone to marshal the troops and lead us. Yes, it may take unconventional methods to carry this out. That's why we need a Jack Bauer type spiritual leader for Jack was never conventional. He defied authority and risked his life to save lives, should we and our leaders do less to save souls? I've used the theme of the series "24" to tie in with the 24 years we've dedicated to Our Lord and Our Lady and the slot-machine-like 24-24-24 that comes up today. But it's not jackpot. Even though it's a gamble, don't bet on us being around another 24 years. Age defies that possibility and we can only hope and pray someone will come forward that would be willing to carry on the DailyCatholic after we are gone. In God's time, we pray that will become a reality. For now, there aren't enough hours in a 24-hour day to complete the work in His vineyard - work that will continue as a pure labor of love for we are a non-profit where, surprise, surprise, no one receives a salary. How is that for an oddity when most executive directors of non-profits take home six figure salaries?! But we're not complaining because our reward awaits, a reward that will dwarf any treasure on earth. Yet, a subtle reminder, we can't run this apostolate on fumes so we do need your help financially. As part of the traditional troops, won't you do your part to help the crusade to crush Modernism and save souls? It all comes down to answering the call. Do we hear the clarion from above calling us to arms? With all the talk of gun control, do we realize we have the most powerful weapon there is that can never be taken away? The holy Rosary. Unlike the curb Obama wants to put on magazines, we can load up with as many bullet beads as possible and trigger them as often as we want. What a weapon! We just need a Jack Bauer type Bishop to lead us into battle for souls. It's a war out there against the devil and it is left to us the few to save the souls of as many pagans, infidels, Muslims, Jews, Eastern Orthodox, Protestants, New Agers, and conciliar Modernists as we can. Let's take Church Unity seriously. Christ does. So should we. We just need a traditional hero with the fire in his belly and the Holy Ghost in his heart to lead the charge. We're ready to lock, load, and fire!
