Each day we feature a title and salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May for she is truly the Refuge of Sinners, personified today on the feast of St. Monica who placed her trust in the Mother of God to bring her sinful son Augustine back to the Faith and oh, did Our Lady ever come through for the loyal mother of the holy Doctor of the Church. A lesson learned. Never give up and pray for all sinners. We encourage all to pray daily the Holy Rosary and the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
For features in today's issue, see:

They say behind every great man is a stronger woman and no one better illustrates that than the woman behind the holy Doctor of the Church St. Augustine. That woman was his mother, better known to us as the holy widow Saint Monica. She was a determined lady who, in God's eyes, can take full credit for what her son became because of her perseverance through prayer, which paid off big time in dividends that have increased the coffers of Heaven with countless souls over the centuries. Now that's moxie! But as Cyndi Cain points out in her long-awaited column, no saint ever was dependant on prayer alone for God intended others to be instruments in helping others to get to Heaven's shore. Such assistance can come in many ways from praying unceasingly for loved ones and friends that they will see the light and be protected by God's good graces to even praying for our enemies. Assistance is also necessary to help those apostolates dedicated to spreading the Word of God as Jesus commands us to do. While it pays to pray, we pray more will pay in donating to the cause. In so many ways it is not "I" or "me", but "us" and "we" for only together can souls be saved and that is the greatest of payoffs as Cyndi explains with her lesson All should strive for St. Monica's Moxie
Part of that payoff begins with observing the nine First Fridays. For Traditional Catholics it's a way of life as we observe First Friday Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

On the fourth day of Mary's Month of May, the feast of Saint Monica the bouquet offered were the delicate, colorful PANSIES which represent the virtue of THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN. Few exemplified this virtue better than Saint Monica who spent every hour of her day praying and sacrificing for the conversion of her son Augustine. She constantly had thoughts of Heaven in her mind, heart and soul, praying so wholeheartedly for the spiritual welfare of her son who had gone astray. The pansies of persistence paid off as we know and Monica lived to see her son become a religious. All she had prayed for came true. So also with us if we offer Our Lady our pansies of heavenly thoughts, she will intercede before her divine Son and answer our prayers. We hope to reach more souls through this newest technology of twitter in the left column. It is something that prior to now we have avoided. However, in an effort to reach beyond the choir, if you will, and to provide inspiration with short prayers and ejaculations, facts, links, comments and quips, we've launched out into the deep of social networking with twitter.com/dailycatholoic and ask guidance from the Holy Ghost to navigate others to the beacon we offer with the safe port of the DailyCatholic. Some have suggested we start a facebook page and our answer to that is we have enough on our plate with this site which contains well over 50,000 pages already. If someone wants to start a facebook page for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic we would be open to communicating with them, but we ourselves do not have the time to manage it.

The Fatima Prayers
My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

O Most Holy Trinity, I addore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!

O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
