March 2011 (mar2011.htm)

In this month dedicated to holy Saint Joseph, we'd be wise to pray the 30-Day Novena as well as entreat this holy foster-father of our Lord, the chaste earthly spouse and gentle protector of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Universal Patron of the Church to intercede for us as we immerse ourselves intp the Lenten season in body, mind and soul. Let us take consolation in the Most Sorrowful and Immaculate Blessed Mother of God who will be there at all times. Call upon her to guard and guide us and give us strength to persevere and learn from the trials and tribulations we offered during this Lent that we may not slip back. Let us ask Mary to bring us safely to her divine Son, before His altar where we can receive Him Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity that we may grow in sanctifying grace to help us better focus on our mission as members of the Church Militant to continue to apply our prayers, penances, sacrifices and self-mortifications for the conversion of those who are chained to the Novus Ordo, that they will realize the true Bread of Life is only confected in the Traditional Latin Mass, and let us continue to pray daily the Leonine Prayer said at the end of every Latin Low Mass:

Let us pray. O God, our refuge and our strength, look down in mercy on Thy people who cry to Thee; and by the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary Mother of God, of St. Joseph her spouse, of Thy blessed apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the saints, in mercy and goodness hear our prayers for the conversion of sinners, and for the freedom and exaltation of our Holy Mother Church. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

For those who truly want to delve deeper into what the Faith teaches and what past Sovereign Pontiffs have decreed, we recommend the following reading to better KNOW THE FAITH in order to KEEP THE FAITH:

Herein you'll find an overview of the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church, consisting of Divine Revelation in Sacred Scripture, all the major ecumenical councils, the Baltimore Catechism, the catechetical teachings of Trent, papal proclamations, and St. Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologica.

No study is complete without Divine Revelation of the Word of God contained in the Sacred Scripture of the Old and New Testaments and passed down through Tradition with the Latin Vulgate and translated to the Douay-Rheims edition which is the most loyal to those traditions. Therefore, we provide the full Bible available on line.

Many were weaned on the Baltimore Catechism which were the truths put simply and concretely in black and white. Those reared on this Catechism know their Faith and, when all else fails, we strongly urge you to return to the roots of what the Roman Catholic Church teaches without ambiguity - without relativism - without pouring through 800 pages from cover to cover.

These are short profiles of the approved thirty consecrated men who have officially been declared by Holy Mother Church with the august honor of Doctor of the Church, ranging from Saint Athanasius in the 4th century to Saint Alphonsus Liguouri in the 18th century. All Doctors of the Church were ordained priests, many bishops, a few cardinals and two Popes.

These are compiled proclamations by Sovereign Pontiffs from before the Council of Trent through Vatican II. In includes the landmark documents Unam Sanctam, Quo Primum, Pascendi Dominici Gregis, the Oath Against Modernism, and Mortalium Animos to name only a few.

In our effort to illustrate how Catholicism has been so protestantized and the truth kept from the faithful, we present the entire Ottaviani Intervention, a lengthy and critical letter respectfully submitted to Pope Paul VI by Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviani and Cardinal Antonio Bacci in an effort to stave off the revolution and uphold the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church.

There is truly meaning in the ceremonies of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and each action of the priest as the alter Christus at the Altar signifies a re-enactment of an action by or to Christ, showing the wisdom Holy Mother Church exhibited in providing the perfect vehicle for worship.

We present the entire book on-line. This picks up where the Ottaviani Intervention left off and the late author Father James F. Wathen, O.S.J. personally granted permission to publish this work, first published by Tan Books in 1972. We urge you to read it because everything he wrote nearly 40 years ago is backed by the solid depositum fidei - the Sacred Deposit of the Faith and still holds true.

A seven-part treatise and critique of the Pontifical Biblical Commission's document The Hebrew People and its Holy Scriptures in the Christian Bible. This is a comprehensive response by Atila Sinke Guimarães, translated by Dr. Marian Therese Horvat, to a document that proposes changes in doctrines and new anathemas.

Available on audio at Traditional Catholic Sermons are the excellent arguments on Sedevacantism by His Excellency Bishop Mark Pivarunas of the Congregation for Mary Immaculate Queen, presented and documented during the 2006 Fatima Conference.

Major Councils of the Church
It is vital to know the Faith in order to keep the Faith and knowing it entails knowing what has been handed down after Saint John's last word in the Book of Apocalypse. It is called Tradition and these Traditions were formed and formulated as necessary for belief by the Fathers of the Church and Bishops in the gatherings of special synods called General or Ecumenical Councils. To this point there have been 21 major councils. They are:
