Hypocrisy...The "Eye" and "Ears" Have it!

    While many fear the mammoth monsters known as the three-headed dragons, few are aware how potent and dangerous the small beast is that scurries between the claws of the dragons. It may look like a mere 'mouse' but in reality it is a rat that has infected all of society with the Bubonic Plague of perdition.

      "Many clueless people are shocked to see this on ABC because it is owned by Disney, who they associate with "family". Although Disney does purport to be family friendly in its films and image, even a casual observation of its workings and associations reveals a strong support for the sodomite and feminist agendas, a long-standing promotion of sorcery, the occult and New Age views over traditional religious views, and a regular dabbling in questionable moral grounds. Instead of telling you to pray or mentioning God, Disney tells you to wish upon a star, break the spell, or seek the wizard or fairy."

    Having completed my series on the dragon, allow me to focus on another beast who many do not perceive to be such; after all it is just an innocent, fun-loving mouse. It might originally have been thus, but not anymore. I will deal with this terrifying critter shortly. As if it were necessary to remind anyone that the media's hypocrisy level grows by the day, we have two more reminders.

Looking Hypocrisy in the "Eye"

    We all recall how CBS allowed the shameful Janet Jackson fiasco during the Super Bowl and then pretended to be shocked and dismayed. The ignorant ramblings of Andy Rooney regarding Mel Gibson, his masterpiece The Passion of The Christ, and anyone admiring Gibson and his film are still fresh in the memory. Finally, who can forget Dan Rather and his producer Mary Mapes producing a political hit job on President Bush based on forged documents a few weeks back? These examples and many more point to the obvious observation that CBS, which many believe stands for Catholic/Christian Bashing Station, cares little for the sensibilities of believers in Jesus Christ or of conservatives. Despite many calls that someone be fired for each of these excursions into trashing truth, morality, and respect for faith, not one finger has been moved toward any kind of reprimand or repercussion. Oh, Dan Rather might be stepping down as anchor, but he's still going to be working at CBS. In fact, anyone holding his breath waiting for any consequences here will soon pass out for lack of oxygen!

    One may reasonably ask oneself, "Is there anything which will get you fired at CBS?" Certainly mocking feminists, sodomites, and various races will likely get you the boot, as Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder found out long ago, but what else will show you the door? Finally, we have the answer to that deep question! When a news producer interrupted the popular CBS show CSI: New York with the news of Yasser Arafat's death, enraging many viewers of that show, CBS apologized for its "overly aggressive CBS news producer", promised to rebroadcast the episode, and then quickly showed the producer the door!

    So, you see, the hypocrisy in the "CBS Eye" is found in its apparently twisted priorities and rules. Aggressively attack conservative and religious viewpoints and you get a wink, a nod, and a continued paycheck. Make the mistake of thinking that world news is more important than fanciful entertainment and you are toast. Edward R. Murrow would surely choke if he was still "here"!

The Ears of Hypocrisy

    Now for the mouse. Not to be outdone by CBS, ABC, owned by Disney, has also shown its glorious hypocrisy of late. On one hand it presents a shameful commercial before a recent nationally televised Monday Night Football game which basically promotes random sex, irresponsibility, and immorality to an audience with no prior warning, and then it pretends to be sorry for the spot and purports to regret not having done something to prevent its showing. All of this despite the obvious fact that the commercial managed to cross-promote both its football show and its popular, scandalous Desperate Housewives show presented, of all days, on Sundays! The National Football League, tied into both the CBS and this example of football pornography, again pretended to be shocked and surprised by this latest incident despite the fact that it regularly mixes sex and football whenever possible, unless beer commercials, erectile dysfunction, and cheerleaders are meant to promote a greater moral standard!

    Many clueless people are shocked to see this on ABC because it is owned by Disney, who they associate with "family".     It is very unlikely that anyone will be singled out, reprimanded, suspended, and much less fired for this commercial on ABC, despite the outrage it produced. Remember the attempt to oust Michael Eisner? Eisner is still there as well as the rot he has wrought.

    Add to that the fact that ABC did not even apologize or recognize the sensationalist, deceptive, and biased nature of its documentaries on St. Paul and The DaVinci Code. These were treated as factual, truthful, profound studies into viable, credible topics from an unbiased perspective. ABC ignored the many complaints received regarding these two pieces of trash despite the fact that such outrage was to be expected given the nature of the programs. So, you see, the network many call Anything But Christ or Always Bashing Christians or Always Bashing Catholics has a clear pattern of rules. First, it is critical to promote its smut as long as that smut is popular because popularity means ratings means money. Second, it is critical to promote its liberal agenda and bias because that agenda and bias likewise pushes its social agenda. Third, bashing faith, morality, and religion is great sport because it forwards the first two rules and additionally garners sensational controversy, ratings, and money as well. Fourth, just to cover one's pathetic moral mask, it is important to pretend to be shocked, dismayed, and regretful of any excursions into smut and immorality despite the fact that such smut and immorality could not have existed without one's direct or tacit approval. Lastly, it is good public relations to apologize for passing the line on sex but not necessary to do so for passing the line on religion and faith since the latter are the piņatas of the liberal media anyway.

Conclusion

    The hypocrisy and double standards of the media are nowhere more evident than in the recent CBS firing of an executive for interrupting a popular show with world news or in the recent ABC commercial pushing pornography unto primetime television for ratings. While CBS did not even flinch when its employees attacked Mel Gibson, Gibson's The Passion, or President George W. Bush with deceptive, sensationalist, and defamatory accusations, it quickly fired one of its employees for interrupting fiction with reality. While CBS ignored the complaints and pleas of offended faithful and conservatives for those attacks on Gibson and Bush, it reacted quickly to similar complaints of fans enraged over an interruption of a popular fictional show. Had the news on Arafat interrupted an excellent program on Christ (if CBS could ever present such a thing); I doubt that CBS would have fired anyone over subsequent cries from viewers!

    ABC's continued dabbling in smut and sensationalism for ratings points under the guise of unfortunate coincidence and amid supposed apologies and regrets is nothing more than yet another media sell out to money and liberal values. Despite its nonchalant moral attitude, at least ABC scribbled an apology to appease outraged viewers, which is far more than it did to even recognize similar outrage over their thrashings of Christ, The Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, and St. Paul this past year. These two examples merely remind us that those looking for the media's home need look no further than that famous tree in the Garden of Eden, where these entertainment snakes slither around their forbidden fruit waiting for the next hungry victims.
