    This series, appropriately titled "Herod's Heroes," is intended to separate the wheat from the chaff by revealing those men and women, for whom we have voted, and who are not upholding the ideals God expects of His children. We cannot condone sin, and they are promoting the most vile of sin by being accomplices to the slaughter of millions of innocents in the womb. That is why, like the Judean king of Christ's time, who, out of political expediency and jealousy, tried to eliminate the Messiah by killing the first-born of every family, so also they are helping satan in killing God's precious ones sacrificed at the altar of the convenience of modern life. These "Herod's Heroes" are under the totally false misconception that a woman has the right to do with her body as she wants. Wrong! It is not hers, but rather God's. The body we have is merely a shell to hold our soul. The soul is forever; the body, as we are reminded on Ash Wednesday, will return to dust. Christ has said in Matthew 10: 28, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather be afraid of him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

    Before we leave the sorry state of Massachusetts we must add to this list the state's highest ranking official - the Governor Paul Celluci, who since has resigned to become Ambassador to Canada. Pray for our brothers and sisters north of the border. Despite overwhelming evidence of his condoning actions that fly in the face of Catholic doctrine, his nomination by George W. Bush was confirmed by Congress.

    In Celluci is a man who many would have hoped and prayed would live up to the teachings of the Church. After all, he was Catholic and a Republican. But sadly, rather than being a Paul, Celluci has turned out to be a Saul - a Judas through his pro-abortion and pro-sodomy stance that has given an indication even the Republican Party has become a partner in the culture of death, despite their posture of being Pro-Life. As an ally of satan through Celluci's pro-abortion stance and pro-sodomy leanings, he is enabling lucifer to "destroy both soul and body in hell." Through his actions he has become an enemy of God and the Roman Catholic Church. This is not a political statement on Celluci, but rather a moral statement; one he and his bishop should take very, very seriously.

    What is very troubling is that President George W. Bush has pushed for the appointment of Celluci as the Ambassador to Canada. This, very sadly, was steamrolled through last week with Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Michael Capuano, William Delahunt, Edward Markey, James McGovern, and Marty Meehan all endorsing him. Note, these are all 'Catholic' pro-aborts from Massachusetts. Folks, they're all in bed together in undermining our beloved country, our beloved Church!

    For more on this we direct you to our editorial in today's issue, The Judases among us! Part One. We are truly being betrayed by our elected leaders because of their stance of condoning sin and our ecclesiastical leaders because they fail to enforce discipline. Celluci is a wolf in sheep's clothing and must be censured for his abhorrent views that influence many.

    He should know better. Born in 1948 in Hudson, Massachusetts and raised there, he earned his law degree from Boston College in 1973, the Jesuit-run university on the hill. It is interesting that in our research of these pro-abort 'Catholic' politicians from Massachusetts, a great percentage were educated by the Jesuits. Their record and the fact they are conscienceless regarding the abortion issue does not speak well of the Society of Jesus Company. The Jesuits have a long tradition of being responsible for molding minds and souls at this once venerable institution. Today it could hardly be called 'Catholic' considering what they profess. How sad, how low we have sunk. Yet they ascribe to the liberal magazine published by the Order, "America" which seeks to undermine the very teachings their founders sought to defend to the death. Today the only thing these modernist Jesuits defend is their right to dissent and a woman's choice to abort her child.

    Celluci joined the ROTC, serving in the Army Reserve as a Captain until 1978. While in the Reserves in 1975 he was elected to the State House where he served four terms and then in 1984 to the State Senate representing Middlesex and Worcester Districts. He served there until 1990 when he became Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts. Eight years later he was elected Governor even though he had been serving in that post since July 1997 when the governor he served - Bill Weld - resigned.

    As governor Celluci has shown an alarming tendency to promote abortion and cave to the militant homosexual lobby, going so far as to advocate perverse teaching that has raised the hackles of decent citizens everywhere. Again, we refer you to today's editorial to read what the well respected Alan Keyes, a devout Catholic, has to say about Celluci's appointment as the new ambassador to Canada. In effect, our neighbor to the north is very much Catholic thanks to the French settlements and Celluci's appointment is very similar to another who openly promoted sodomy James Hormell, who could not receive confirmation from the Hill to be appointed ambassador to Luxembourg, a 95% Catholic country. To skirt this obstacle, Bill Clinton waited until Congress was not in session to railroad him through on a technicality. Bush didn't use a loophole, but in a pay-back to the more liberal side of the GOP Party, he has badly betrayed those who uphold the traditional family values. While he is from Middlesex County, we would hope and pray Celluci doesn't take that literally and think one can be in the middle regarding sexual mores. There is no gray areas here. God has defined it thus.

    Celluci could have done so much good, and could yet as the new ambassador, yet there have been few fruits because, through his please-everybody action and record, he has become lukewarm and shown a steady tendency to overlook all the teachings of the Catholic Church and her mandate of upholding decency and life in all stages. By his fence-sitting on Pro-Life issues and the embrace of the sodomites' agenda he has shown an alarming consistency in enabling pro-abortion and homosexual measures that empower the culture of death. He will have to answer to God for these transgressions against Christ's innocent ones as Jesus says in today's Gospel in Matthew 25: 45, "'Amen I say to you, as long as you did not do it for one of these least ones, you did not do it for Me.' And these will go into everlasting punishment, but the just into everlasting life."

    Is Governor Celluci truly aware of that? We call on all to help him see the grave error of his ways and we call on his shepherd in Boston to take firm, responsible action to assure that if he continues to persist in the sin, he will be banished from the Church for remaining a Catholic while carrying on the sin with no sign of repentance. It is truly a slap in God's and His Church's face. As we wrote in our Ash Wednesday OPEN LETTER TO THE BISHOPS OF AMERICA and a week later in It's up to you. Left or Right? we respectfully, but strongly recommend this time of Lent and Easter as a time for the bishops to extend the warning - a time of Mercy - for these wayward 'Catholics' who promote abortion to repent of their ways. If they stubbornly refuse, then after Pentecost Sunday it's time to take action and dismiss them as apostates. Do you really want that, Governor Celluci?

    You can e-mail Governor Celluci and, in love, ask him yourself. Beg him to repent of his ways. Remind him what Jesus asserts in Matthew 16: 26-27, "For what does it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, but suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is to come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will render to everyone according to his conduct." Is his political career more important than the welfare of his soul? Ask him, his e-mail is GOffice@.state.ma.us

    We call on the prelate, whose jurisdiction governs Celluci's area of residence as well as the capitol of Massachusetts, His Eminence Cardinal Bernard Law, Archbishop of Boston, to issue a mandate to Governor Celluci that if he persists after Pentecost Sunday he will be notified that he has EXCOMMUNICATED himself and will be duly noticed by the Church and so published. Only through action will these pro-aborts and those promoting the sodomy agenda and, who claim to be 'Catholic,' truly realize the Church means business.

    We can't emphasize enough to Cardinal Law that it is way past time to clean out the barn. The manure of malaise and tolerance for sin has been piled so high in the Bay State, especially your Archdiocese, that you must take action now. You can not allow this to continue. If you do, what are loyal Catholics to think? What, dear Eminence, are you afraid of? Why have you waited so long? For you to wait any longer will cast great doubts on your ability to lead and to shepherd the faithful, and cast even greater scandal through your failure to do anything. The argument of being patient and using love is nothing but a cover to do the same ol' and tolerate sin. Seven of the nine 'Catholic' pro-abort Democrats voted not to ban the horrible partial-birth abortion. Celluci not only condones 'pro-choice,' but also the perverse agenda of sodomy in schools. There is no excuse for a Catholic to hold such views, even less to promote these sins as acceptable. Yes, Jesus loves and forgives, but He does not tolerate tolerance of sin; the sinner, yes; the sin, never! You have this opportunity to forgive but only if the sinner is repentant and resolves to sin no more. If you do nothing what are we to think? More importantly, what is God to think? Cardinal Law must realize he has a duty before God, a duty to his flock to extend mercy through the grace-period of Lent and Easter Season leading up to Pentecost. If no action is taken or if there is and Governor Celluci refuses to heed even the Church, then let him be an anathema.

    Like the prodigal son, we will gladly welcome him back and be proud to number him as a loyal Catholic - as a Paul who once was Saul. Does Governor Celluci really want his legacy in eternity to be that he was one of "Herod's Heroes?" With all the good that he has sought to accomplish, why have it blotted out by the evil that he has done? We pray his heart will be touched and he will return to the fold. But if he refuses, if he ignores God's commands, then so be it. He has sold his soul to the devil and Christ has made it very clear in Matthew 19: 15-18 of how to treat one who turns his back on His teachings.

    Our bishops MUST follow Our Lord's teachings, they MUST stand up for Christ and His Church. They MUST not only speak out without reservation, but they MUST issue the ultimatum to these pro-abort politicians who bring so much scandal to the Church by continuing to call themselves 'Catholic.' If, by Pentecost Sunday, Governor Celluci refuses to repent, then he must be notified that he has interdicted himself by his actions, incurred automatic suspension (latae sententiae), and thus has been EXCOMMUNICATED! (cf. Canon Law 1329, 2; 1397 and 1398).
