    August 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

Dear children! Today I invite you to come still closer to me through prayer. Little children, I am your mother, I love you and I desire that each of you be saved and thus be with me in Heaven. That is why, little children, pray, pray, pray until your life becomes prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call.

  • A simple, innocent peasant girl is torn between parental obedience and obedience to God.

Today we continue with the second part of one of the most important apparitions in the Age of Marian Apparitions. It remains today the most famous and most visited Marian shrine in the world, one which bring millions to the healing waters where countless documentation has been recorded regarding miraculous cures just as the Blessed Mother told Saint Bernadette Soubirous, the young peasant girl who God chose as the messenger to convey all Mary wanted the world to understand and to confirm Pope Pius IX's proclamation of the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception four years earlier in 1854. For the second part on The Healing Fruits of Lourdes, click on THE AGE OF MARIAN APPARITIONS.

Wait, watch and pray for the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart is closer than we may think.

Because of the importance of the content of the messages from Our Lord and His Blessed Mother Mary to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart, we continue daily with two messages each Monday through Friday for the time to respond is growing short. In these two messages Our Lady speaks of the need to return to ultimate reverence to her Divine Son in the Holy Eucharist before time runs out for the Triumph is near. A polygon of poll policies polarizing polemics

We've all heard this poll or that poll but has anyone ever really been polled? Now you have the chance with the ultimate poll. This is no Polish joke but does contain plenty of satire as you take the "Almighty Poll." If you have some humorous tid-bits that are clean and worthy of this publication, we'd love to hear from you at editor. For today's laugh track, click on MID-WEEK HUMOR

WORLDWIDE NEWS & VIEWS with a Catholic slant

provided by Catholic World News Service

    HEADLINES:

Any Catholic Senator voting for abortion could very well excommunicate themself through their actions according to Canon Law

Targeting the two Illinois senators' disregard for Catholic doctrine as a slap in the bishops' face by Carol Mosely-Braun and Dick Durbin for their response to the bishops' plea to overturn the Partial Birth Abortion Ban veto by going against Catholic belief, the Executive Director of Pro-Life Action League Joseph Scheidler cites grounds for excommunication of any senator who claims to be Catholic and casts a vote for abortion. While Scheidler was referring to Illinois specifically and his call to Cardinal Francis George, OMI to take action, he was also including such travesties as Ted Kennedy who claims to be Catholic but his voting record has shown consistent disregard for Catholic doctrine. Pope and Italian President to meet on the latter's turf in October

A month shy of six years after the Italian President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro first visited the Vatican, his Holiness John Paul II will return the favor when he journeys the short distance to the seat of Italian government on the Quirinal in Rome to meet with the head of Italy, a custom that is traditional in Italy and, to our knowledge, no other country extends the same to the Pope. It has long been the procedure for the Italian President, after his election, to pay an official visit to the Supreme Pontiff in recognition of their sharing the same city. This time discussions may include the recent harassment of Naples Cardinal Michele Giordano. For more, click on Vatican-Italian summit

Another Anglican priest returns to the True Fold over disintegration of his church's policies

We could've told him it would happen. After all, a church not founded by God but rather a rebellious, sinful king cannot last. It might have saved Father Francis Brown the transition problems had he studied Catholic doctrine earlier in his life, but nonetheless another lost sheep returns to the fold with his announcement that he is leaving the Anglican Church and converting to Catholicism chiefly because of the Church of England's insistance on ordaining women priests and disregard for tradition. Let's hope and pray he doesn't have to deal with those same issues in the Roman Catholic Church. For more, click on Prodigal Priest

Greater accord between the Church and Jews evident in light of announcement a special Jewish ceremony will be held on Vatican grounds

Despite all the rhetoric between Jews and Catholics over the holocaust, the Auschwitz controversy, Palestine, etc. the Vatican is extending the olive branch by acknowledging the high Jewish holydays currently in progress and announcing that on December 18, the feast of Hannukah will be commemorated in the Vatican garden with participation by both faiths. It is the first time ever such an event will have ever be held at the Holy See. For more, click on Cooperation.

    PRAYER & DEVOTIONS

Nine days from today is the feast of Saint Therese the Child Jesus and so today begins the short nine day Novena:

NINE DAY NOVENA TO THE LITTLE FLOWER:

O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the Heavenly Gardens and send it to me as a message of love.
O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God today to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands...
    (Here mention specific requests)
St. Therese, help me to always beleive as you did, in God's great love for me, so that I might imitate your "Little Way" each day. Amen
