On this day we honor Pope Saint Pius V as we continue our five day string of saints. In a time when the Church was greatly endangered, God rose up a great pontiff consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and devotion to her holy cause of protecting the Church of her Divine Son Jesus. Just as Saint John Bosco conveyed through his vision how devotion to the Eucharist and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary would stay the good ship, Pius V proved the veracity of this through the Holy Rosary and the great victory at Lepanto. In today's editorial we parallel the scenario to then, to the vision of Saint John Bosco and to today when our Holy Father and the true traditions and doctrines of Holy Mother Church are challenged as well as threatened in a last-ditch effort by satan and his legions. For our editorial, "Pray! Pray! Pray!" Spiritual Warfare demands it! , click on today's CATHOLIC PewPOINT

Continuing our on-going megaseries on the Church today and our special treatise on the vision of Saint John Bosco today we focus on the same theme as our editorial - the vitalness and vitality of prayer, citing examples of the power of prayer and showing how, through prayer, we can better discern when those nuns and deacons who should be leading us could be teaching heresy without even realizing it because they were not rooted in God's Holy Will first and foremost and "went along" with everything they were told without knowing what the true teachings are. We show that we need only ask and God will guide us to the Truth, but we must be willing to ask, seek and knock.   &nsp;  Both the 144th and 145th Messages from the Immaculate Heart of Mary and her Divine Son Jesus respectively, have as their underlying theme to pray and discern. This same advice that we speak of in the two articles above Our Lady and Our Lord bring home in loving ways, urging us to stay the course and to turn to them for everything. Christ speaks of the "signs of the Power and Victory of God in the universe" by following all His Holy Mother advises. These messages, six hundred and thirty two in all, were imparted to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart from late September 1990 through the Feast of Corpus Christi in 1995 and are meant to be shared with the world. April 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message for

Dear children! Today I call you, through prayer, to open yourselves to God as a flower opens itself to the rays of the morning sun. Little children, do not be afraid. I am with you and I intercede before God for each of you so that your heart receives the gift of conversion. Only in this way, little children, will you comprehend the importance of grace in these times and God will become nearer to you. Thank you for having responded to my call.

Pope to mark worldwide Vocations Day by ordaining thirty priests in Rome
Talk about a blessing: to be ordained to the priesthood by the Pope himself! That opportunity awaits 30 Roman candidates who will be ordained at St. Peter's on Sunday when the Church observes Worldwide Day of Prayer for Vocations. Prayers are very necessary as vocations continue to fall off. We desperately need more priests in the Church. Our Lady has said there are so few clergy and until we can replenish she has advised "Mobilize the Laity!" The thirty new priests for the Diocese of Rome will spend the evening in prayer vigil at the Lateran before receiving Holy Orders the next day. For more, click on ordinations to read more.
