Toiling and Tilling God's harvest are His angels in His garden. |
In this weekend's editorial we remember the feast of the Guardian Angels with an affectionate look at these wondrous beings and the important role they play in our lives and in God's master plan for us. In fact, we use the imagery of a garden which the reader will better understand once they have read this weekend's PewPoint. Catholic Bishops in British Isles crack down on abuses of the Eucharist
On the heels of Irish president Mary McAleese belittling the Roman Catholic Holy Eucharist by receiving communion in the Anglican Church and the disregard for proper protocol by others in receiving Holy Communion if they are not in full communion with Rome such as Bill and Hillary Clinton's actions in South Africa this summer, the joint Bishops Conferences of Ireland and Great Britain released definitive measures to stop the abuse and clarify the "ground rules" for receiving Our Lord present Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity when confected by a validated priest. Vatican influence is important input to international scene
With all the gerrymandering going on within the UN during their general session this week in New York, especially by population control groups fostering the culture of death, the Vatican decided it was time to imprint their influence internationally specifically in regard the embargo on Iraq and forgiving the world debt of third world countries who cannot afford the steep interests and amounts they owe. Pope aids the cause of AIDS by calling on greater concern for all Christ's little ones - including the sick and downtrodden
After returning from his summer palace at Castelgondolfo, the Holy Father settled back into his quarters at the Vatican full time. During his Wednesday Papal Audience at Paul VI Hall at the Vatican the Pope made it a point to give special attention to an Italian AIDS Awareness group and called on all to be charitable and understanding and not quick to judge. He embraced them and told AIDS sufferers to place their lives in Jesus' hands and to look to the cross for encouragement in their suffering. For more, click on Aiding AIDS sufferers.

Silence is golden when it comes to fulfilling God's Will |
In this weekend's issue Cyndi Cain points to what the Blessed Mother stresses so often and that is to "zip the lip" and open the heart. Too often the music we try to add to the Symphonic mix is mere noise because of our gossiping and loose words that do only harm. Cyndi focuses on the WWII slogan "loose lips sink ships" and cautions that the evil one has many spies out there ready to betray us and ready to steer us away from the melodic harmony of God's Will. In her column this week, Sister Mary Lucy Astuto shares with the reader yet another true story on angels that brings awe to the heart. This is one that happened last year during the great blizzard in Omaha when once again an angel, this time with a chain saw, appeared out of the blue to assist when called upon for help. If you don't believe in angels after this one, check your pulse. For Sister's column, Another true angel story to delight you , click on GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER

PRAYER & DEVOTIONS
In honor of the Feast of the Guardian Angels we present that time-honored prayer we never grow too old to say:
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here. Ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
Medjugorje Monthly Message for September 25th
Dear children! Today, I call you to become my witnesses by living the faith of your fathers. Little children, you seek signs and messages and do not see that, with every morning sunrise, God calls you to convert and to return to the way of truth and salvation. You speak much, little children, but you work little on your conversion. That is why, convert and start to live my messages, not with your words but with your life. In this way, little children, you will have the strength to decide for the true conversion of the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.
