Without the Light of the Holy Spirit, no one can say "Jesus is Lord!"

That is the title of the homily given on Pentecost by Pope John Paul II in 1992. What he said then is just as pertinent, if not more so today. In this timely piece the Holy Father emphasizes the influence of the Holy Spirit and His vital importance in the Blessed Trinity and essential "filioque" as proceeding from the Father and the Son. While the Old Testament was the time of the Father, and the time of the Gospel during Our Lord's life on earth - the time of Jesus. From His descent on the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary on Pentecost to now is known as the time of the Holy Spirit, just as Christ promised that He would send His Spirit. Therefore, the only way to acknowledge "Jesus is Lord" is to acknowledge and be infused by the Sanctifier. To read the Holy Father's words, click on THE VICAR OF CHRIST SPEAKS

Our Lady has endured in persuading us to endure

In his first part on Endurance in his weekly columns, Father Stephen Valenta, OFM Conv. highlights how the Blessed Mother has endured through all these years, through countless apparitions and messages, to instill the importance of praying with the heart and how to find that heart to pray and endure. SAINT EPHREM OF SYRIA, DEACON AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH

May 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

Dear children! Today I call you, through prayer and sacrifice, to prepare yourselves for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Little children, this is a time of grace and so, again, I call you to decide for God the Creator. Allow Him to transform and change you. May your heart be prepared to listen to, and live, everything which the Holy Spirit has in His plan for each of you. Little children, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you on the way of truth and salvation towards eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call.
