We Need a Hero!

As sinners striving to do better we can emulate the saints through our Heroic Acts of Charity

In last week's first installment on the Heroic Act of Charity, we asked where have all the heroes gone. This week, rather than looking for heroes elsewhere, we look inward; for the heroes are not out there but in each and every one of us if we are willing to say "Yes" to Jesus and His Blessed Mother Mary in an act of selfless love for Them and the Holy Souls in Purgatory. That "act" is the Heroic Act of Charity whereby through our commitment here among the Church Militant, we enable those in the Church Suffering to reach the level of the Church Triumphant and there they can do even more for us. In summary, it's a win-win or hero-hero situation where all parties benefit. And because of that, God benefits the most from our obedience to His Holy Will. Installment Eighty-five

The Thirty-Eighth Clarion:

part two:

"If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For he who would save his life will lose it; but he who loses his life for My sake will find it."

Matthew 16: 24-25

"The Divine Will is Peace and Joy, but it is attained through renunciation and suffering."

Those words from the Blessed Mother Mary in messages 287 follow the same thought as the series on Heroic Acts of Charity above, but this and message 286 were imparted to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart back in the early part of 1993. Our Lady mentions the poor souls in Purgatory and our role, and urges all her children to go into the heart and be totally obedient to the Divine Will, for satan can not reach us or harm us if we are unison with God's Will. It is only in the mind and our own stubborn wills where he penetrates and divides, causing confusion, disruption, discord and rebellion to God's Will. She affirms that the more of her children who align themselves with her Divine Son's Holy Will, the sooner will her Immaculate Heart triumph.       Today we commemorate the Thirty-third Thursday in Ordinary Time and stay in the same mode tomorrow with the Thirty-third Friday in Ordinary Time before celebrating the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday. For today and tomorrow's liturgies, and meditations, click on LITURGY FOR THE DAY.

Since this coming weekend focuses on the Solemnity of Christ the King, today we turn our attention to Saturday's feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Opening Prayer for the Mass honoring Our Lady:

Eternal Father, we honor the holiness and glory of the Virgin Mary. May her prayers bring us the fullness of Your life and love.

Events Today in Church History

On this date in 496, Pope Anastasius II, the 50th successor of Peter, succeeded in converting King Clovis and the Franks to Catholicism. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship between Holy Mother Church and France, though there have been some rough spots mixed in over a millennium and a half. October 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

Dear children! Today I call you to come closer to my Immaculate Heart. I call you to renew in your families the fervor of the first days when I called you to fasting, prayer and conversion. Little children, you accepted my messages with open hearts, although you did not know what prayer was. Today, I call you to open yourselves completely to me so that I may transform you and lead you to the heart of my Son Jesus, so that He can fill you with His love. Only in this way, little children, will you find true peace - the peace that only God gives you. Thank you for having responded to my call.
