Other than the plethora of all new columns, articles, essays and series in this issue we encourage you to go to the links above and below for other pages on The DAILY CATHOLIC. If you like what you see, we respectfully ask you to go to our HELP KEEP THE DAILY CATHOLIC AFLOAT and donate whatever the Holy Ghost inspires you to give to keep The DAILY CATHOLIC on line and helping more souls to know the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. We can only continue to publish if Traditional Catholics care enough to support these efforts to preserve the Faith. Have a safe, blessed and grace-filled Summer. See you in September.

    Catholic PewPOINT
It's all about security since September 11, 2001. But how secure have souls been for the past forty years? Editor Michael Cain lays out the conspiracy perpetrated by the Revolution within the Church in the 20th Century and the sad fact that most Catholics are playing right into the hands of the Modernists in the 21st Century. While our attention has been diverted by the tragedy of 9-11, we have failed miserably to see, due to the smoke and mirrors erected so cleverly, the far, far worse holocaust - the Bargain of Baal - that has claimed millions of souls over the last four decades. He explains in his editorial, Well Before 9-11, there was 10-11!
    "Feed My sheep"
Be careful what you wish for, you may get it...and regret it for years, decades later. We illustrate how, contrary to the utopian One World Order dreamers, there are severe effects to the causes of ill which society has rendered both in the secular sector and especially in the Church, a divine institution founded by Christ but run by finite men who have led and been led astray. We outline the effects in the feature, We Reap What We Sow!
Shears and Tears of a Lamb
After the Dallas fiasco in which the Bishops continued their incredible denial of the root problems of the current crisis, trust in the American Hierarchy is waning greatly as both conservative and liberal polls indicate. Catharine Lamb asks, with so many Catholics jumping ship, wouldn't you think the Pope and Bishops would be more concerned with battening down the hatches and focusing all their attention on fixing the gaping holes in the hull with an honest, sincere and humble effort rather than their pompous way of celebrating the hoisting of more decorative sails? As the Pope basks in the twilight of WYD in Toronto, and the Bishops continue the cover-up and total denial of the homosexual connection, Catharine shows in her colum that all are Painful Illusions.
    Traditional Insights
Mario Derksen continues his series on the The Humanism of John Paul II with his 11th installment. In this issue he continues to refute the weak arguments illogically proposed to eliminate capital punishment. Mario also shows the holes in the slavery issue as well. Yet, Vatican II-and-since teaching has succeeded quite well in incarcerating the truths, greatly clouding what has been determined by Catholic doctrine, specifically that Justice needs to be met, reparation made both temporally and eternally. Mario breaks the chains of misinformation in On Death and Life (IV).
    The Great Sacrilege
Father James F. Wathen, O.S.J. has granted permission to publish his entire work which was first published by Tan Books in 1972, and which we urge you to read for everything he wrote back then is backed by the solid depositum fidei - the Sacred Deposit of the Faith and still holds true. It takes up where the Ottaviani Intervention left off as you'll see especially in this Mid-Summer Hiatus issue when Father Wathen issues a challenge that, for over thirty years, has yet to be accepted by any Novus Ordo priest. We respectfully dare any - ANY priest or bishop - to read Fr. James' book and challenge him that the Mass of Paul VI is better than the Traditional Latin Mass. Folks, there is no one who can truthfully prove such an abomination. Indeed were every priest to read this very important chapter of his book, we daresay over half of God's consecrated ones would clamor vigorously to return to the tried and true - Tridentine True! If you don't agree, you haven't read his simple, sensible Challenge.
    Doctors of the Church
The eleventh Doctor of the Church in this series was considered the "Defender of Theotokos" - the dogma of Mary as Mother of God. As many bishops in the early centuries, he was used and duped, but the Holy Ghost won out and rather than caving to the heretics, this Doctor became one of Holy Mother Church's staunchest defenders and presided over the Third Ecumenical Council - the Council of Ephesus. Serving as the Patriarch of Alexandria and effectively squashing Nestorianism, he has become known in Church annals as Saint Cyril of Alexandria.
The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart
We continue the excellent work by Father Joseph McDonnell, S.J.. Catholic Family News has given us permission to reprint following their publishing of it. It is a beautiful meditation and commentary that should encourage more devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we continue with Part Fourteen - The Eighth Promise - "Fervent Souls Shall Speedily Rise to Great Perfection."
     Exspectans exspectavimus Ecclesia Dei
In this issue we bring you an update on further negotiations with Rome and the Society of Saint Pius X with a summary presented by Bishop Bernard Fellay in Econe, Switzerland plus an interview conducted by Monde et Vie a few months ago. The overall tone is caution for those in power in the Curia of Modern Rome have already shown their colors in the fact they are not willing to be honest; they refuse to inform the bishops and priests worldwide that the Tridentine Mass was never abrogated. Read more in An Update on the Response to Rome.
    Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas Droleskey shows how a very concerned Roman Pontiff over a century ago warned of the very consequences facing the post-conciliar Church today. Pope Leo XIII sternly admonished the American Bishops of the inherent dangers of Americanism. As Tom points out, obviously his inspiring words were ignored and thus we have the bitter fruits of scandal today because those shepherds placed in the care of souls have neglected the wisdom of the Vicar of Christ and the One he represents as you'll see in his excellent essay that cuts to the heart of the matter, So Wrong For So Long!
    On the BattleLine
Atila Sinke Guimarães, a foremost authority on the causes and effects of Vatican II, pinpoints the parallel problems of the current corruption in the post-conciliar Church and the climate of France before the French Revolution. It would seem, he points out, to be only a matter of time before history repeats itself and the flock is further scattered thanks to the clever games being played for the temporal prize. He illustrates these points in his column, The Revolution Rumbles On!
    Echoes of True Catholicism
One of the more respected experts on medieval history and Catholic culture, Dr. Marian Therese Horvat analyzes how Protestant thinking has gravely altered the landscape of God's rules for the roles of His creations - man and woman. The result has thrown the balance of the natural and supernatural way off kilter. With the rebellion of a schismatic 'Catholic' group that has sanctioned the ordination of women and with the Revolutionists' intent to demasculate man in today's society, we would do well to realize why and when the balance of Nature, as God intended it, went wrong. The results we are faced with today are merely the decaying fruits of rebellion against God's Will as Marian illustrates in her column The Protestant Reformation and Women.
    Pro Life Prescriptions
Dr. Frank Joseph, a Catholic physician and long one of the leading crusaders for the Sanctity of Life, delves into the network of complicity and over-complicated web that stretches to all walks of life. This network is a maze of mismanagement and malice. From Planned Parenthood to NAMBLA to the USCCB, sex, lies, and excuses perpetuate the tragic scam that is being played out under cover of competency. The facts are that these people who are pushing the envelope and calling the shots are doing so to the detriment of innocent souls - and these perpetrators know very well what they are doing, which makes it all the worse as Dr. Frank points out in his column The Network of Complicity!
    Simply Sheen
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen points out the possibility of prayer that opens a spectrum of blessings to those "who put themselves in an environment of love." He emphasizes how free will makes the power of prayer all the more possible in Prayer Opens Possibilities.
    White Smoke, Black Fire!
It's been a long wait, but the second episode of Chapter Eight in Part III - "The Shadowing" continues Pat's further orientation into the small remnant remaining who are willing to fight the nefarious Legion of the Basilisk whose fetid stench grows closer with each hour. Dr. Makuta Ogidi fills in the gaps Fasif Khadid left out as the puzzle becomes clearer and deadlier to both Fr. Niki Andriopoulos and Metroplex Mirror reporter Patrick Gallagher in Episode Two.
Appreciating the Precious Gift of our Faith
In this issue we delve into indulgences. While we are all given penances to perform after Confession as our sincerity to the purpose of amendment, the Church, through the spiritual treasury built up by the infinite merits of Christ, and the superabundant merits of His Blessed Mother and the saints, can grant indulgences in which we can make withdrawals from the spiritual treasury to pay for past sins if we are in the state of sanctifying grace and carry out the stipulations as Holy Mother Church has determined. This is explained in Indulgences.
    BOOKS YOU CAN BOOK ON!
Tying in with the favorite pastime of the summer, we present James Bemis' review of Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's enjoyable, whimsical and inspiring work that traces his years as a die-hard Mets fan intertwined with the solid roots of Catholicism that will motivate and enthrall everyone. You'll count the days until your copy comes after you've read Bemis' review of Tom's book, There's No Cure For This Condition!
    Liturgy of the Saints
This issue covers the feasts, commemorations and observances of the time after Pentecost from July 15 through September 1st and includes the Solemnity of the Assumption in Liturgy of the Saints.
