IN TODAY'S ISSUE:|
Second Council of Lyons
In 1274 Blessed Pope Gregory X called the Second Council of Lyons, which teemed with 15 cardinals, 500 prelates and well over a thousand clerics and dignitaries including Saint Bonaventure. Another great Doctor of the Church, Saint Thomas Aquinas passed to his Heavenly reward enroute to the Council. This Council's main docket was the attempt to reunite with the Eastern Church, but it was only temporary and the schism grew wider after the solidification of the Dogmatic Filioque in which it was reaffirmed emphatically that the Holy Ghost proceeds from both the Father and the Son. Also addressed were regulations for Papal election and how to recover Palestine from the Turks. For the full documents of the fourteenth Ecumenical Council see SECOND COUNCIL OF LYONS
Today Editor Michael Cain alerts the readers of a shocking turn of events that has the false religion of Islam being mandatory to study in middle schools in California while any mention of Jesus Christ is still verboten. Islam is now being taught as fact, while Christianity - Catholicism especially - is being regarded by revisionist historians as merely a 'myth.' What is this world coming to? The agenda of the post-conciliar church's ecumenism is at the root of this anathema as Cain points out the dire Crusade - war - that we are in where the proud are afraid to fight, yet we have all the weapons readily at our disposal. The problem remains, because of the incompetence of our shepherds, that few know how to use these valuable means of weaponry. He calls upon a tightening of the flanks to withstand the latest assault by the crescent moon in his commentary, Grab your Rosaries and Roman Missals and let's get St. Michael involved again!
Standing with the Church Militant On the BattleLine
In this issue Atila Sinke Guimar„es begins a multi-part series The Ideal of the Universal Republic
Blessed by the Conciliar Pontiffs first carried in Catholic Family News on the alarming trend of the post-conciliar pontiffs to cater to the idea of a Universal Republic, fostered by the architects of the French Revolution. In his first installment Atila traces these events to the founding of the League of Nations and ultimately the United Nations, the catch all for a Universal Republic - One World Order - that flies in the face of Catholic teaching. He shows how the masonic mission has been accomplished in his column The Universal Republic, an Old Revolutionary Dream
On Tuesday English priest Father Alan Rolph's testimony will show the growing trend of concerned priests who realize the futility of the new reforms and that to promulgate the truths of Holy Mother Church they must finally stand up and be counted. Slowly, but surely the ebb will flow more toward the tried and true Tridentine Mass, for only within the Mass of All Ages are the full truths of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church manifested in the Holy Sacrifice as Father's testimony attests to in My Return to Tradition.
The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart
Tomorrow we continue with the excellent work by Father Joseph McDonnell, S.J. first written during the Pontificate of Pope Saint Pius X and which, now out of print, Catholic Family News has given us permission to reprint following their publishing of it. It is a beautiful meditation and commentary that should encourage more devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with Part Six - Meditation on Promise #3
White Smoke, Black Fire!
In the third episode of Chapter Five in Part II - "The Smoldering" a refreshed Pat Gallagher meets his host Fasif Khadid as we learn a little more about Fasif's background while the two, along with Niki Andriopoulos, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at Fasif's oasis estate on the Kuwait-Iraq border. Little does Pat realize what he is getting himself into as he takes measure of these new-found friends.
LATER THIS WEEK:|
Exspectans exspectavimus Ecclesia Dei
With all the rumors circulating over a purported agreement with conciliar Rome regarding the Society of St. Pius X, we bring you Wednesday a two-part interview conducted by and printed in The Latin Mass Magazine recently whereby we get a true insight into what is really happening - even to the fact that the Vatican is, obviously, no longer a hierarchy as it had been for 2000 years, but now is considered by those in charge a democracy where if a minority dissent, then all systems close down. Such is the case as Superior General of the Society His Excellency Bishop Bernard Fellay relates in part one of Bishop Fellay Speaks Clearly
Pro Life Prescriptions
This Wednesday Dr. Frank Joseph exposes the battle strategy NARAL and Planned Barrenhood have cooked up in an attempt to gain sympathy while continuing the lie about 'abortion is a right.' Funded heavily by the pro-abort coffers, they have launched a campaign that strikes fear into women and those who assume they being provided facts about the dangers before Roe vs. Wade. But the real fear is that NARAL, PP and the rest of that ilk are running scared, fearing the days of Roe vs. Wade are numbered and doing all in their power to influence the selection of pro-abort justices to the Supreme Court, forgetting Who really is the Supreme Judge as Dr. Frank reminds in his column A Battle Between Good and Evil
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen speaks out in Wednesday's issue on a topic so greatly twisted and misunderstood today: TOLERANCE. It is the devil's watchword, trying to guilt the just into accepting evil. In his first part on tolerance, the wise and beloved prelate points out that "tolerance always refers to evil, real or imaginary, never to good." In a world today where tolerance has become the gateway to promulgate evil, we must stand our ground and realize that as Bishop Sheen points out in Tolerance is a negative permission of evil!
Echoes of True Catholicism
On Thursday Dr. Marian Horvat begins a two-part piece on the Crusades, enlightening all as to what Christians - Catholics - need to realize and must believe despite all the rhetoric of tolerance toward Islam, which, in truth, is a false religion and any reference to anything otherwise is not true Roman Catholic teaching regardless of all the ecumenical spin even Rome is putting on it. She points out how the Crusades were not only necessary, but in harmony with the Church Militant as she explains in part one of her column Understanding the Crusades
Precious Gift of our Faith
This Thursday we continue a beautiful catechetical apologetic series taken from The Glories and Triumphs of the Catholic Church on the true meaning of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The 255th installment continues to unveil the poetic, inspiring essence of why the Mass is the fulcrum of our Faith corresponding to the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ with Divine Regulations for the Altar and Tabernacle.
The Great Sacrilege
Father James F. Wathen, O.S.J. has granted permission to publish his entire work which was first published by Tan Books in 1972, and which we urge you to read for everything he wrote back then is backed by the solid depositum fidei - the Sacred Deposit of the Faith and still holds true. It takes up where the Ottaviani Intervention left off as you'll see in Thursday's issue with Part Four of Chapter Four - The Changing of the Canon in THE "NEW MASS."
Christ or chaos
This coming Friday Dr. Thomas Droleskey takes a break in his series on G.I.R.M. Warfare, to address RESPECT LIFE WEEK next week in warning the faithful not to be lulled into the false sense of progress for there has been none in the pro-life movement, only stalling while more erosion continues in both political parties, aided by politically correct bishops. He gets to the crux of the matter in illustrating how the pro-life movement has been patronized while forfeiting even more despite the rhetoric as he explains in his special column Tokenism and Blindness.
Mario Derksen's young and refreshing TRADITIONAL INSIGHTS
So many of the post-conciliar bishops today refer to those clinging to the true Roman Catholic traditions that were in vogue for 2000 years prior to the reforms of Vatican II as 'fossils,' 'dinosaurs,' 'old folks who will die off soon.' We beg to differ and offer as proof the youthful wisdom and enthusiasm of the younger generation in the Traditional Insights of Mario Derksen who exemplifies the thinking of many more young men and women today who realize the new thinking of the post-conciliar church does not add up to true Catholic teaching. Thus they long for those traditions so tried and true. His insight shows great promise, optimism and hope for the future of Holy Mother Church as you'll see in his first installment of The Crisis in the Catholic Liturgy with part one Modern Trappings Have Rocked the Church
The Sanity of Sanctity
On Friday we present the fourth in a new series which outlines a return to reverence leading toward holiness. Yet to reach that direction, one must first know what is not holy, what takes one away from true Catholic teaching. This series will include articles that address these issues. Through the good graces and permission of John Vennari of Catholic Family News we present the first set of articles, with part five - The Path to Holiness in an excellent feature by Cornelia R. Ferreira on Our Blessed Mother and the Return to Holiness
Test your knowledge of the Faith and Church History:
Answer to this past weekend's quiz:
The answer to the question as to the identification of the Litany of Loretto was, of course, the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the House of Loretto, now on the Adriatic Sea in central eastern Italy, is said to have been the simple, small house of the Holy Family.
Indoctrination of Islam Intensifies in our Public Schools!
Whatever happened to Separation of Church and State? That's a good question in light of the fact that Jesus Christ is rejected and banned, but Mohammed and the false religion of Islam is not only embraced but blatantly pushed on 7th graders as a mandatory curriculum in the public school system of California as you'll see in Public Schools Embrace Islam! A Shocker.

What a wondrous web God did weave for Saint Felix
Since we are on the web it's appropriate to feature a saint often portrayed with a web - Saint Felix of Nola who died on this date in 260 A.D. Many times he was on the verge of being captured by the Romans because of his Christianity, but, through the grace of God, managed to escape; one time aided by a spider who spun an instant cobweb to hide him from his captors. When he was finally captured, he willingly gave his life for Christ on this day 1,742 years ago.
In each issue we will feature a special prayer to enhance your Catholic devotions
Prayer to Saint Michael
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Composed by Pope Leo XIII as a necessary part of the mandatory Leonine Prayers after Holy Mass.
