All the King's Horses |
Some say the fight against terrorism is a shell game and shells will be shattered as well as souls if our politicos and military geniuses continue the futile path they are on. No amount of weaponry, influence or brainwashing will be able to put the proverbial "Humpty Dumpty" together again until the Social Kingship of Christ and the Queenship of His Blessed Mother are accomplished. Right now Americans not only have egg on their faces, but are getting fried in the sour yolk of Mohammedanism.
"Ultimately, though, the failure to see who our enemies are in this vale of tears is the result of a refusal to see the world clearly through the eyes of the true Faith. A love of the Blessed Trinity as He has revealed Himself through His true Church leads us to avoid all semblance of sloth. It leads us to love ourselves and our neighbors and our country authentically and purely so as to will the good of all, the ultimate expression of which is the salvation of individual souls and the subordination of all in a nation's life to the Social Kingship of Our Lord and the Queenship of our dear Mother Mary. Absent that, however, not only will people try to convince themselves that false religions are not the enemies of man, they will slacken off from an initial vigilance engendered as a result of some national tragedy or terrorist assault. This is precisely what is happening right now in our own country as we continue to fight the shadowy Al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan and elsewhere."
Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7, 2002, will mark the sixth month anniversary of the American offensive against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces in Afghanistan. While the Taliban have apparently been overthrown from their perches of power in Kabul and elsewhere, it is more than a little unclear whether the recently installed government can survive all of the factional infighting for which the artificial country called Afghanistan has long been known. Furthermore, even American military and diplomatic officials admit that it appears as though the Al-Qaeda forces of Osama bin Laden are regrouping elsewhere, principally in the Philippines and Indonesia, prompting American military campaigns in those countries (which make the jungles of Vietnam seem like an inviting place to wage such military campaigns). Indeed, some American officials have gone so far as to say they do not really know whether anything of real substance has been accomplished thus far by all of the bombs which have been dropped on Afghanistan.
Mind you, to point out the inconclusive and perhaps futile nature of the American military effort to combat global terrorism in Afghanistan and elsewhere is in no way meant to detract from the true valor and distinction with which members of our armed forces are serving. More than a handful have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their nation. Those who continue to place themselves in harm's way - and those who have been killed - must remain uppermost in our prayers each day. Men and women who are responding to the call of service are to be commended for their willingness to place themselves at risk in response to orders they receive from their commanding officers (and which the commanding officers receive from their civilian superiors).
Nevertheless, many of us were skeptical from the outset of the American offensive, which was launched on the 430th anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto, October 7, 2001. A nation which permits the daily slaughter of over 4,000 of its own citizens under cover of law in their mothers' wombs will never make itself secure from attacks from others merely by the use of military action, no matter how justified such action might be as a response to invasions or terrorist assaults. Moreover, the enemy we have targeted in Afghanistan is driven by the precepts of a false religion, Mohammedism. As events in the Middle East have proven over and over again, no amount of bombs dropped on crusaders for false gods will ever dissuade these crusaders from their bloody efforts to destroy those they hate. Not even an effort to annihilate them totally will ever succeed, as both the Israelis and Mohemmadan Arabs have learned at such a high price of lives in the past fifty-four years alone.
No, the problem with Osama bin Laden and his international network of confederates is quite simple, but so politically incorrect that the Bush administration, ever eager to curry favor with various constituency groups, is incapable of facing it directly. The problem with the Al-Qaeda network of terrorists is that they are Mohammedan, plain and simple. Mohammedanism of its nature preaches violence and death against infidels and unbelievers, especially Christians and Jews. Osama bin Laden is not a heretical Mohammedan at all. He is a very faithful adherent to the terms of the Koran. The revisionist mullahs and Mohammedan spokesmen in this country and Europe like to give the impression that they are the true embodiments of what George W. Bush calls a "religion of peace and tolerance." They are not. Osama bin Laden and his confederates are the true embodiments of the spirit and the teaching of Mohammedanism, which is why no amount of bombs will ever completely eradicate this pestilence from our midst.
The situation we face at present in Afghanistan is something of our own making. The administration of President Ronald Reagan, eager to liberate Afghanistan from Soviet occupation in the 1980s, paid for the printing of textbooks praising the concept of "Islamic Jihad," which were then smuggled into Afghanistan. The purpose of these textbooks was to inspire Mohammedan children to fight the Soviets in the name of Allah, to conduct a holy war (a jihad) against the communists in order to install an Islamic regime, modeled after the one in Iran, in Kabul. Some of us were more than a little nervous about the alliance the Reagan
administration and conservative organizations, such as the Free Congress Foundation, were making with self-professed Islamic militants. As horrible as Soviet occupation of Afghanistan was, some of us were unconvinced of the wisdom of ignoring the dangers posed by Mohammedanism to Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular. Indeed, the belief that Mohammedans are our natural allies against abortion, as Peter Kreeft has argued, overlooks the simple fact that they are our natural sworn enemies, people who mean to (and in Europe are indeed) winning by procreation what they lost in battle in Lepanto in 1571 and the gates of Vienna in 1683.
Not only has the Bush administration failed to learn (or even admit) the dangers posed by the spread of Mohammedanism, it is now reprinting at American taxpayer expense the very books which were printed by the Reagan administration twenty years ago, thereby helping to create future Osama bin Ladens. The idiocy of this is remarkable. However, I guess it stands to reason that politicians who want to assert positivistically that Mohammedanism is a religion of peace can convince themselves that there is no danger in printing books which encourage the sort of behavior which is in part responsible for the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks upon the United States of America. And that is why courses which treat Mohammedanism in a favorable light were ordered to be taught in the public schools of the City of New York by Schools Chancellor Harold Levy and why the State of California Department of Education ordered all children in the seventh grade to pray Islamic prayers for three months. Mohammedanism is not only not seen as the principal problem we are facing. It is treated as a misunderstood religion which has great contributions to make to human civilization. The propagation of such an irresponsible lie is only going to produce more Osama bin Ladens and more John Walker Lindhs.
As Father Paul Marx has been pointing out for a long time, formerly Catholic Europe is being overrun by mosques. Mohammedans are having children, plenty of them. The paganized white Europeans of Christian descent are contracepting and aborting themselves out of existence. This has ramifications for American national security which almost no one wants to discuss publicly. Mohemmadans are making great inroads in American politics and culture. However, just as Americans intellectuals never took Vladimir [Ulanov] Lenin seriously, just as they never took Joseph Stalin seriously, just as they never took Mao Tse-tung or Ho Chi Minh seriously, just as they never took Fidel Castro seriously, just as they never took Daniel Ortega and his band of thugs seriously, so, too, do they not even see any threat posed by Mohammedanism of its nature, no less take it seriously.
Ultimately, though, the failure to see who our enemies are in this vale of tears is the result of a refusal to see the world clearly through the eyes of the true Faith. This is precisely what is happening right now in our own country as we continue to fight the shadowy Al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
One newspaper report after another indicates that government investigators and journalists have been able to sneak both knives and guns and explosives through airport security systems across the United Stats of America. In one recent instance, for example, a metal detector was left unplugged as passengers passed through it as part of the security screening process prior to boarding their flights! Why should people who do not love the true God with all of their hearts, minds, bodies, souls, and strength care if they are slothful in their work, even if it involves trying to prevent terrorists from blowing up more airplanes? If the only thing most people are concerned about is simply getting through the course of their work day without regard for how their work looks in eternity, without regard for working hard for the honor and glory of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, then the only thing that will matter to them is doing the most minimal amount of work possible, if that. The average person sees work as an interference in a life dedicated to leisure and pleasure. Thus, some of the very people who profess to "love" their country come to be unwitting agents in its destablization by failing to work for the honor and glory of God alone and to pursue excellence in all that they do as befits redeemed creatures. This laxity of behavior is actually going to get worse over time. And don't think that Osama bin Laden and confederates are not watching the news and reading American newspapers.
As Catholics, we know that the only solution to the threats posed by various forces in the world is to entrust ourselves entire to Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. We pray and fast and make sacrifices for the conversion of all people to the true Church through Our Lady, the instrument through which Our Lord Himself entered human history at the Incarnation (The Annunciation of which is celebrated this year not on March 25, as it is Monday of Holy Week, but on April 8). We must be totally consecrated to Our Lady - and encourage all others to be so consecrated - as a means of helping to build what Saint Maximilian Kolbe called the City of Mary Immaculate. It won't be all of the king's horses and all of the king's men, no matter how noble and valorous they are, who will make us secure. It will only be Our Lady, the one who will lead us to the Social Kingship of her Divine Son as we honor her as our Queen.
Our Lady, Cause of our Joy and Singular Vessel of Devotion, pray for us!
