The shocking news of pedophile priests has rocked the foundation of the
Catholic Church in the United States. As a Catholic and a former altar boy,
I can find no words to describe my sadness.
Over the years, the Catholic hierarchy have literally, shoved this dirt under
the rug. They just reassign pedophile priests to other parishes, where
they would continue to prey on young boys.
They say that the amount of money the Catholic hierarchy has, and
will pay out to the victims is over 30 million dollars and I have heard as
high as 120 million.
Imagine all the good, this money could be doing to feed the poor at home
and in undeveloped countries.
The media, is all over this story. They can't get enough of it. At times, I
feel I can detect a glimpse of glee in the eyes of newscasters, or maybe
I'm just being paranoiac.
It's as if I was just nailed with a “sucker” punch and I'm walking around in
a daze. Where did the punch come from?
However, after thinking about it, I should have seen it coming. I do know
that the bishops have not been tending the flock as they should.
1.4 million unborn children are killed every year in their mother’s womb
-- a.k.a. abortions.
The rate of Catholic women having their unborn child killed is higher than
Evangelical women.
The rate of Catholics voting for pro-abort politicians is also higher than
the
Evangelicals.
Whose fault is this? It is the fault of the bishops. Not all, I can name
some
good and holy bishops, but as a whole, their attempt to end the terrorism
of the womb has been downright pitiful.
Cardinal Bernard Law of the Archdiocese of Boston said that from now on, all
pedophile priests will be turned over to the police, instead of trying to
rehabilitate them and sending them from parish to parish.
If this would have been done long ago, we would have avoided non-Catholics
getting their jollies, by looking down their noses at the Catholic Church and
telling us how to run our Church.
Cardinal Law should resign, as he made terrible mistakes. It is estimated
that over the years, about 80 incidences of sexual abuse have taken place in
the
Archdiocese of Boston alone.
It is no secret that the heavily Catholic populated state of Massachusetts is
the most liberal state in our nation.
They overwhelmingly voted for Al Gore, (a pro-abort) in the last election.
They have 2 'Catholic' Senators, both Democrats, who are not only
pro-aborts, but even voted not to ban partial-birth infanticide -- Ted
Kennedy and John Kerry. 90% of their Congressmen are Catholic
Democrats and pro-aborts.
What is this thing that Catholics in Massachusetts have against the sanctity
of human life? Truly Massachusetts is in a sad state of affairs.
An even better question -- why do all the heavily Catholic populated states
on the Eastern Seaboard, (MA, PA, NY, NJ, DE, CT overwhelmingly vote
for politicians, whose party condones the killing of God's children -- the
Democratic party? Just what is this special attraction that draws them
to the propagators of mortal sins. All sad states of affairs.
So, I am not surprised that this repugnancy occurred in the Boston
Archdiocese. This is what happens when the populace reverts to
liberalism.
Anything and everything goes, even the state's embracement of the
deadly homosexual lifestyle and their attempts to indoctrinate
school children that it is perfectly normal, even though it shortens one's
life by 15-20 years and is the cause of much suffering.
Cardinal Law, knowing full well that he had a serial rapist of young boys
as a priest -- why wasn't that priest defrocked long ago?
I just don't get it. There is absolutely no excuse for this. Not only
should
pedophile priests be kicked out, but also anyone, who is homosexual.
Cardinal Edward Egan of the Archdiocese of New York, also issued a public
statement that all pedophile priests will be removed from their pastoral
ministry.
I don’t know what this means. Does it mean they can still hang around,
but their role is diminished, or does it mean they have been “kicked out.”
And what about homosexuals, who are not pedophiles, or have not been
accused of pedophilia?
Homosexuality is a mortal sin and is clearly condemned in the Holy Scriptures.
Am I to understand that they WILL continue their pastoral ministry?
To me, it seems that the Catholic hierarchy is content to sit in their ivory
towers and surface, only when a scandal of immense proportions rocks
the Catholic Church and then, it's too late.
The handwriting has been on the wall for decades that there were problems
brewing within the Church, but the hierarchy was content to let it ride.
Priests were abandoning their Catholic conservative views and becoming
liberal.
Some even accepting the proposition that a woman should have the right
to have her unborn child killed, if it would make her life easier.
These priests are still wearing their collars. They're still teaching at
Catholic
Colleges and are continuing to poison young Catholic minds
by showing pornographic plays on their campuses and
pornographic movies and inviting pro-abort speakers to spew their
killing agendas at the podium.
Is it any wonder that the younger generations of Catholics don't know
right from wrong and do not attend church.
The Catholic clergy won't talk about the evils of the killing of unborn
children
during their sermons.
Oh sure, every once in a while, you'll hear -- we in the Catholic Church
honor the sanctity of human life.
Big deal -- they might just as well say nothing. You can tell by the rates
that I mentioned above that they are failing to save human lives.
Sometimes, I feel they don't know the magnitude of their sins of omission.
Why do they keep saying “abortion?” Is there some kind of a law in the
Catholic Church that prohibits priests and bishops from saying the truth --
the “killing of unborn children” in their sermons?
Is there a doctrine that says you can only talk about abortions once, or
twice a year from the pulpit and only if you do not make the pro-choice
[to kill unborn children] Catholics in the pews not feel guilty?
Is it against the doctrine of the Catholic Church to give sermons bristling
with fire and brimstone?
Or, maybe Canon Law was changed to accommodate these do-nothing bishops and Catholic Democratic Senators,
like Kennedy, Leahy, Joe Biden and Dick Durbin, who sit on the Judiciary Committee
and rejected a godly and pro-life man, Judge Charles Pickering from sitting on the
5th Appellate Court -- so that pro-aborts cannot be publicly excommunicated.
The Democrats are so afraid that Judge Pickering may one day be in a
position to reverse Roe Vs Wade, the infamous Supreme Court decision
that legalized the killing of unborn children right up to birth, that they
are
willing to sell their souls to satan for political gain. Talk about a sad state of affairs!
Even if Senators condone the killing of unborn children while they are being
born -- the gruesome and excruciating painful partial-birth infanticide,
doesn’t
make any difference to the bishops.
Would you believe that there are 13 Catholic Senators who see no evil in this.
(12 Democrats and 1 Republican)? It is plain to see which party satan has
taken over.
In essence, these so-called Catholic Senators signed the death warrants
for thousands of children, who are killed every year, in late term, in this
barbaric manner. STILL, the bishops are not stirred to publicly
excommunicate them. These Senators attend church and receive the
sacraments. How could this be? They are no better than Adolf Hitler and that was a sad state of affairs.
Or, am I to believe that when you kill unborn children, it is not a mortal
sin, or that the lives of unborn children are not worth as much as the lives
that were destroyed by Hitler? This must be the answer, or the bishops
would have publicly excommunicated these Senators long ago.
What possible explanation could the bishops make for their obvious
disrespect for the lives of God's precious unborn and 3/4 born children,
when they arrive at the pearly gates? Yes, I did say, DISRESPECT.
Only if these so-called Catholic pro-abort politicians are publicly
excommunicated will these killings end.
You can find all their names in Herod’s Heros, so that you, who are
constituents and being the good Catholics that you are, will NOT vote for
them.
You'll also note who their bishops are and, for the most part, the same ones who are now feeling the wrath of the public and the microscope of media scrutiny and rightfully so for their failure to be true shepherds.
Since the abortion mills and the liberal media will NOT warn women that
killing one's child increases the risk of breast cancer, is there some kind
of Catholic doctrine that prohibits the Catholic clergy from educating
Catholic women, as to the complications and risks of killing their child?
Also, other risks such as premature babies in subsequent pregnancies,
resulting from the trauma done to the cervix and the inner lining of the
uterus during an abortion. This results in low birth weights and thus the
babies are more prone to physical and mental problems, including cerebral
palsy.
And increased risk of alcohol and drug abuse and suicides. The reason is
obvious. THEY KILLED THEIR CHILD.
Wouldn't it be a grand gesture on the part of the Catholic clergy to impart
this vital information to its flock, because as sure a heck, they will NOT
hear of it from the abortion mills, or the liberal media.
Many times, I have wondered over the past 10-15 years, why I don't see
Catholic priests, or bishops on TV talking about the tragedy of the killing
of unborn children.
Yet, during this same period, I have seen many Evangelical ministers
condemning these killings.
I just chalked it up to -- well, maybe the Church just doesn’t want to get
involved.
Then I say to myself -- what do you mean they don't want to get involved,
that's why they wear the collar. They're up there speaking out against the death penalty, pushing for ecumenism, pushing for tolerance of all lifestyles - even the sodomy lifestyle. So, then I'm stuck for an answer.
Then lo and behold, the Catholic clergy has been flooding the broadcast media,
the past week because of the pedophile priests -- trying to save their
reputation.
If only they made the same commitment to save the lives of God's
precious children, the killing of unborn children would have been history
a long time ago. And, I daresay, I doubt the sins they are facing today would have been so massive in scope for think of the vocations that might have blossomed because of so many young men who came along...oops, sorry, they were aborted. So much for commitment by the bishops.
Tragically however, even the Pope and his Secretary of State Cardinal Angelo Sodano have been low-key on this high profile scandal. Sad, a very sad state of affairs.
There are 60 million Catholics in the United States -- 40 million of voting
age. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the power the Catholic
Church has in ending the American holocaust, if only they had a mind to. But the longer this scandal is allowed to fester without firm, deliberate and radical discipline by the pope and the bishops, the weaker the Catholic Church will become.
Living in Southern California, I hardly ever hear much from Cardinal Roger
Mahoney of the Los Angeles Archdiocese on this subject or my own prelate Bishop Tod Brown.
But then, from these men, I've learned not to have high expectations from such sorry excuses for Apostolic successors. The last time Mahoney said anything of note
was about a year ago at the Democratic Convention and I think I'm pretty well informed of the goings on
in this area.
However, after the lid was blown off the pedophile priests, he wrote
a letter condemning these priests and it was to be read at all masses of all
churches under his jurisdiction.
Now, why didn't he and other cardinals and bishops issue such an edict,
only on the subject that is even greater -- the killing of over 42 million
unborn children since Roe Vs Wade 29 years ago -- especially around
election times.
Instead in California, we elected a pro-abort Catholic governor -- Gray
Davis (Democrat) over a good pro-life Catholic, Dan Lungren.(Republican)
The latter got no help from the Catholic Church and California has suffered greatly for it.
Since in office, Davis has bent over backwards to appease the pro-aborts.
His constant TV ads -- that he will always defend a woman's right to choose
[to have her unborn child killed], makes my skin crawl every time I see it.
He has also signed many bills that glorify the homosexual lifestyle. Talk about a really sad state of affairs!
The killing of unborn children and homosexuality are MORAL ISSUES and
the Catholic Church has every right to get involved. IT IS THEIR DUTY.
It is apparent that the Catholic hierarchy CAN issue edicts to parish
priests,
only I guess, if it helps to save their own skin and not the skin of unborn
children.
The Catholic Church in the United States has reaped what it has sown.
It's as simple as all that. God help us all!
