The date of 9-11-01 will forever be on our minds. The image of the planes
crashing into the twin towers of the World Trade Center is deeply etched
in my brain. The explosion; the collapse of the super structure; the
suffering and deaths of over 6,000 people from 80 countries will be a constant reminder
that, “but for the grace of God, there go I.”
The firemen, throwing caution to the wind -- rushing into the buildings to
save the lives of those trapped, only to lose their lives, gave proof that our
country is indeed the home of the brave. My heart goes out to the families of those
who died at the hands of the cowardly terrorists, as well as my prayers.
Everyone was asking for God's help. The song, made famous by Kate Smith,
God Bless America, was revived big time after the tragedy, and has constantly been sung by all since, including
members of Congress. When baseball and football resumed after a weeks absence, it was the
highlight of the pre-game shows. It was sung with such fervor and
emotion that even our National Anthem was relegated to a lower tier.
Everyone remembered their God -- whatever their faith. People were
frightened -- many terrified at man's inhumanity to man. They reached for
a power beyond their world. All of a sudden, it was OK to mention God's
name in public and at sporting events. It was now OK to bow your head
in a moment of silence and would you believe that satan’s disciples, the
ACLU, even in this time of crisis, objected to this showing of public faith
and took it to the highest court, only to be slam dunked. Thank God.
But when we call upon the Almighty, how sincere are we really? During the
Gulf War the churches were full and shortly after the troops returned, the
vast majority returned to their sinful ways, so much so that they elected
a pro-abort president whose very immoral lifestyle was celebrated and flaunted.
That was a decade ago. Now here we are again, in time of trouble, sorrow and
worried about the future. So we turn to God. Will we stay with Him this time?
Is this just a passing fancy -- praising God and asking for His help in this,
our hour of need, or have the masses finally seen the light and now realize
that without God in our lives, we are NOTHING -- that we are animals?
How long will this spiritual awakening last? How long will God's Name be
on the tip of everyone's tongue? Has our country become godly again, as
our forefathers intended, or after using the strength of God to lean on, will
we revert back to our self-indulgent, what's in it for me, lifestyle?
So, when we sing, God Bless America, WILL God do so? Will He
bless America? Even a better question -- SHOULD He bless America?
After all, we are the country that forbids the mention of His name in our
schools, but allow condoms to be passed out; the country that won't
allow the 10 Commandments to be posted in public places -- not even in
our courts, or where they have been posted for hundreds of years;
the country that leads the world in premarital sex; in the divorce rate; in
pornography; in spreading the killing of unborn babies via satan’s henchmen,
Planned Parenthood, to all corners of the world, including the killing of 1.4
million of God's children every year in our country alone -- a country where
God has been taken out of our Pledge of Allegiance.
This latest mocking of God was by Tom Hanks on Friday night, 9-21, when
Hollywood, threw a TV extravaganza to raise money for the people in
NYC, who were hit the hardest by the terrorists. It was on practically all
the channels, broadcast and cable alike.
I was shocked that in these times of peril and the invoking of God's
name by almost everyone, that the Hollywood community would have
the gall through Tom Hank’s recital -- omit God from the our Pledge
of Allegiance.
It just goes to show the world that Hollywood is INDEED satan’s kind
of people. I was going to say, “satan’s pride and joy,” but I reserve that
for the Democratic party, whose platform includes: “women should have
the right to have their unborn child killed, if they so choose.”
Now that America has found God again, except for the Hollywood
community, will the killing of unborn babies become history? Will people
now believe in the Holy Bible and NOT embrace homosexuality? Will
prayers now be allowed in our schools, as they once were? Will
premarital sex and the divorce rate decline? Will we now pass laws
against pornography, as we had in the past?
Will we drop kick satan along with the ACLU platform back to hell where they
came from? Will TV shows be now fit, so that the entire family can sit
and watch them together, without being embarrassed.
Or did we just USE God, in our time of need? We shall see if God will bless
America again. We shall see, if we were just “all talk.” The next year WILL
be the most important in the history of our country, because if we didn't
truly repent and ask God's forgiveness for our sins of commission and omission,
of which the killing of unborn babies, heads the list, we WILL again have
slapped the face of God and I do believe it will be our LAST slap.
As I said before, the question is not whether “WILL God bless America, but
SHOULD God bless America?” God gave us one more chance, there will
be no others. Let us prove that we are smarter than animals.
PLEASE, LET US NOT BLOW IT.
"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways...then
will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their
land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
