Respect Life 2001
part five
We are dependant to live, not independant!

We were all created by God in His own image at conception -- when the sperm fertilizes the ovum (egg) -- not at birth. To kill a developing baby in the womb, is the same as killing a baby after it's born. Both are human beings, made by God in His image. It's not just a small sin -- it's a mortal sin, and to commit it is to choose eternal damnation. Yes, we have a choice, it's called free will.

"For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb."

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."

How those who say they believe in God, can ignore the above scriptures is beyond me. As you can see, it is very plain that God created us at conception -- not at birth.

When the sperm fertilizes the ovum (egg), the result is the zygote, which has its own genetic code (DNA) and destiny. The rest is time -- this beginning of human life is a scientific fact, and not based on religious views. However Judeo-Christian teaching on abortion acknowledges this scientific fact.

To pick out a certain developmental stage to justify the killing of unborn babies is a travesty of justice. It is scientifically unsound and without any semblance of logic, since the development of a human being is a continuum -- zygote, embryo, fetus, infant, child, adolescent and adult.

To interrupt this continuum of life at any stage, violates God's will, as he told us: "Thou shalt not kill." For those who do not believe in God and just go through the motions, it violates one's view of common decency.

Unborn babies should not be discriminated against and targeted for death just because they're growing and developing inside their mother's womb any more than they should be targeted for death after birth. Both in and outside the womb they continue to grow and develop. The location of the development is inconsequential, and should not be held against the unborn and used as an excuse to kill them. Both unborn and born babies cannot survive on their own.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to grasp these facts. Yet, there are people who will ignore scientific facts and God's laws just so they won't be inconvenienced. How sad -- this disrespect for human life...the greatest of all of God's creations.

Or, is it that they just refuse to believe it? The only other explanation would be that they are just plain selfish. Their self-indulgence is paramount -- human life is secondary. Pick one. There is NO other reason.

It has been acknowledged, by many sources, that unborn babies DO feel pain. Researchers at University College London have now discovered that the newborn and premature babies, which would include unborn babies killed in the third trimester, feel pain longer and more sensitively than older children and adults. In premature babies and unborn babies, the mechanism that allows older children and adults to "dampen down" the pain messages has not been fully developed -- thus they feel pain at the slightest trauma, let alone being torn apart, in which case the pain would be excruciating.

Now, reliable studies confirm that unborn babies do feel pain as early as 20 weeks (thus we are now in the second trimester). Other studies have indicated that the unborn may feel pain as early as 9 weeks, since it is clear that the fetus responds to touch from five and a half weeks after conception.

Then you have the barbaric partial-birth abortion. These viable babies are killed in late term. Many call partial-birth abortions, infanticide. This is just a palatable and sugar coated way to say MURDER. Details in, “Partial-birth Abortions,” on my web site.

Thank God, Bush is now our President, because he has promised to sign the ban on this gruesome procedure. Had Gore been elected, he would have, as Clinton did, vetoed the ban. A ban that was passed overwhelmingly in both houses of congress, thanks mainly to Republicans. Only 13 Democratic Senators voted to ban it. On the other hand, 51 Republican Senators voted for the ban.

Remember what I told you about the Democratic party. It was once a great party -- not anymore. It has become satan’s pride and joy. I left this party years ago when it was apparent they were embarking on a course headed straight to hell.
