St. Joseph, as moderator, is about to bring to a round-table discussion three saints in the Heavenly realm. They are about to commence. Let us join them.
Saint Joseph: My beloved brothers in Christ welcome to this sixth charitable discussion on how we, the Church Triumphant, can assist the Church Militant, who in turn can help the Church Suffering. I am pleased to introduce to our readers our guests:
- Saint Martin of Tours, a convert to Christianity in the 4th century through a vision of Our Lord dressed in the half-cloak he had given to a poorly clad begger on frigid night in Hungary. He was a relentless proselytizer of the Faith and is one of France's patron saints.
- Pope Saint Siricus, 38th successor of Peter, who was the first to assume the title "Papa" (Pope) from the Greek word for "Father." This, too, is an anagram for Petri Apostoli Potestatem Accipiens". He died two years after Martin of Tours passed on to his Heavenly reward.
- And Pope Saint Pius X, the beloved holy pontiff of the Holy Eucharist who was the 257th keeper of the Keys. His wonderful papacy lasted eleven years and he was beloved by all, save the modernists.
Pope Saint Pius X: I would most definitely like to save the modernists - those annoying and misguided ones from my time and the times we now find the Church Militant in. Believe me, they are all God's children, no matter how stubborn and sinful they can be.
Saint Joseph: So true. God loves all. He is all merciful and all just. It is the latter that many do not recognize. Before we continue I would like to welcome all to our discussion this day on the topic we began last time: "Rebuild My Church by rebuilding the Church Militant."
Saint Martin of Tours: A most worthy topic, Joseph. In my lifetime I was noted for my zeal in converting pagans to the One True Faith. I deplored the pagan temples, and had them destroyed. Now the time has come when even so-called 'catholic' churches resemble other edifices, but not a true Church.
Pope Saint Pius X: I, myself, saw this day and age coming, even though I was Vicar of Christ from 1903 until my death in the year 1914. How I struggled to overcome the heresy called 'modernism.'
Pope Saint Siricus: Even during my 15-year pontificate I encountered heresy and injustice as politics tried to divide Holy Mother Church. It was a tough time, was it not, Martin?
St. Martin of Tours: Indeed it was. We fought side by side in denouncing the heresy of Jovinian, who spread heresy about the Queen of Heaven and Earth, our beloved ever-virgin Blessed Mother. What Jovinian tried to teach so many centuries ago is still alive and being fed by the 'great thinkers' of today: theologians who are not theologians, but silly philosophers who have been raised to great status by Vatican Council II.
St. Joseph: We all faced persecution and heresy in our time on earth. Mary, my beloved chaste spouse knew it fully, more than any other person who has ever lived or will ever live. Yet, she set the example for all generations: Give glory to God in the Highest, for it is He Who delivers the world from sin.
St. Martin of Tours: What we are faced with today, however, is a spreading theological heresy that there is no such thing as sin, for there is no such place as hell, or of the fallen angel lucifer and his legions. Even the Church Suffering has been scoffed at, and few there are of the faithful who remember to pray for the souls in Purgatory.
Pope St. Pius X: The very curse of modernism. Even during my pontificate did I fight against the synthesis of all heresies - modernism? I even demanded that every priest and prelate of the Church take an oath against Modernism, which was still in force when my successor Pope Pius XII held the same high office and died, knowing that modernism - hiding under the disguise of Marxism, Socialism, and the like-smoldered within the Church, even within the hierarchy.
Pope St. Siricus: The tenets of the One True Faith have not changed, because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church established them. The whims of mankind change, daily, sometimes over night, and always through revolution and rebellion. Jovinian was a monk whose thoughts were heretical, and whose superior did nothing to stamp out the errors before they saw the light of day. Once a heresy is spread, it takes nothing short of a miracle to undo the damage.
St. Joseph: So let us define for our readers in the Church Militant how we who are in Heaven can assist them in rebuilding the Church for His Honor and Glory and for the salvation of many.
Pope St. Pius X: The keyword there is 'many'. This is one of the subtle but dangerous changes in the structure of the Holy Mass how "pro multis" has been eliminated and replaced by "for all." I have watched carefully over the Church since my days on earth and now in Heaven. I have seen the slow but deadly march toward the heresy that Our Lord instituted the sacraments, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and the One True Faith for all. Indeed, this is not true. Even as He died on Calvary for the sins of mankind, He knew and had instructed His apostles that there would be those, through every generation, who would reject Him.
St. Martin of Tours: And each one of us here in Heaven has watched as more than a few have totally rejected Him, His teaching, and His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Faith.
Pope St. Siricus: The Church today should be more vigilant over her duty to guard the Sacred Deposit of Faith. It appears that with the advent of Vatican Council II the general thought persists that He established His church for the salvation of all men. Moreover, to this end, the Pontiffs of the Council to this present day are striving to establish a one-world 'communion' among all faiths, for the sake of one sheepfold - in other words, a one-world religion for the sake of brotherly accord and harmony in a global society.
St. Joseph: This is unmistakable in light of the writings of the Pontiffs from Pope John XXIII through this day with the present Vicar of Christ - Pope John Paul II. This heretical ideal of using Marxist philosophy as sound Catholic theology permeates the documents of this Council, and the writings of the present Pontiff. How can we help the Church Militant? Some concrete examples for our readers, if you please.
St. Martin of Tours: Holy Mother Church must cease to be a political power in the world, and return to being the spiritual Light to the World, which He established her to be.
Pope St. Pius X: A renewal of the sacrificial nature of the Holy Mass. When this sacrificial nature is lost - as it has been since Vatican Council II - then the importance and awe of the sacraments lose their meaning as well. What you are left with is a hollow, empty theology that speaks in great words, but means nothing when reduced to its simplest form.
Pope St. Siricus: The clever mask of any heresy must be stripped off with a renewal of piety, devotions, ejaculations, and the return of Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in all august ceremony.
St. Joseph: These are all excellent suggestions. Thank you for stating them. Yet, I am not sure that the faithful know how to go about recapturing what has been lost. There have now passed forty years plus since the Vatican Council II was first announced and preparations begun for it. For these years the majority of the faithful have been led astray by one document after another, and by their own bishops who are, quite often, more bent on political expediency versus the TRUTH.
Pope St. Siricus: Unfortunately, you are correct, dear Joseph. Yet, I still would bring to the minds and hearts of the faithful in this day and age, to return to the solid roots of their precious Faith, and begin to study and research all past Pontiffs prior to Vatican Council II, and then lay these decisive and divinely inspired writings with those of Vatican Council II to the present day.
Pope St. Pius X: A very good suggestion, my dear Siricus. However, we must bear in mind that today's world speeds along at breakneck speed. People are so busy, that they simply leave it to their pastor to preach the Truth. There is a tendency to accept the loss of the true tenets of the faith as necessary for peace on earth. In addition, these very same people, the faithful of the Roman Catholic Church, have believed the lie satan has fostered for so long, that the writings of Pontiffs are far and above their ability to read or understand. Quite a dilemma, wouldn't you say?
St. Martin of Tours: Ah, there lies one of the reasons lucifer has been able to slither into the very heart of Holy Mother Church. There is one fact that remains steadfast from age to age: God is not complicated. Loving God and obeying His Commands are simple, and in return God makes Himself known to His children who truly seek Him. It does not belong to the learned to discuss God, but it belongs to the childlike heart to communicate with God in simple terms.
St. Joseph: He told His Apostles, and likewise all generations to come, that unless one become as a little child he shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Pope St. Siricus:
How satan has twisted these words, scoffed at them, and torn them from the minds and hearts of the faithful down through the ages. That is one of the reasons Vatican Council II was overtaken by evil spirits who spoke and wrote through modernist, progressivist Council Fathers and their periti, all who sought to establish a 'new' church for a 'modern' world.
Pope St. Pius X: I urge all of the faithful to re-establish the sacrificial nature of the Holy Mass, and to seek to undo the damage of a denuded liturgy spoken in the vernacular, as if Latin was beyond the capabilities of man. Oh, what a lie! They who would woo the people into lukewarmness and indifferentism by using such beguiling ambiguities in their documents, should be given the lie that Latin is and will always remain the True Language of the Church Militant. It's purity, its exchangeability make it the language that satan cannot interfere with.
Pope St. Siricus: Well said, Pius. You speak the truth. Why else would these modernists and progressivists have fought so hard to bring in the vernacular on the pretext that the people would better understand their faith? The exact opposite has happened. The people no longer know the True Faith, but the 'new' faith of Vatican Council II.
St. Martin of Tours: Sadly, though the argument most of the faithful use is that they don't understand Latin, that it's so much easier to attend Mass in the vernacular. Latin is too mysterious.
St. Joseph: They fail to realize that Latin was always intended to be a mysterious Language for it was adopted by the early Christians to communicate the august Mystery of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Also, Latin is one of the most difficult of languages for satan to intercept.
Pope Saint Pius X: Two of my respected successors spoke on the necessity for Latin. Pope Pius XI, in Officiorum Omnium wrote, "For the Church, precisely because it embraces all nations and is destined to endure until the end of time...OF ITS VERY NATURE requires a language that is universal, immutable, and non-vernacular." The dear man who followed him Pope Pius XII - who has been so maligned by modernists who churn the Jews and liberals against his cause for canonization - wrote in his excellent Encyclical Mediator Dei: "The use of the Latin language prevailing in a great part of the Church affords at once an imposing sign of unity and an effective safeguard against the corruptions of true doctrine." Is it any wonder then that satan and his cohorts would work so tediously to eliminate Latin from the liturgy?
Pope Saint Siricus: And seek to villify those who would uphold Latin and the traditions of Holy Mother Church. If only the faithful could see how the good, loyal Catholics are being forced out just as modernists within the Holy See silenced Cardinal Ottaviani and ousted Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.
St. Martin of Tours:
Thank God they didn't cave. We must implore the Triune Divinity to awaken the slumbering hearts and minds of men today, who are caught up in establishing a global society. We must intercede on behalf of the Church Militant to realize that Latin is never outdated, nor beyond the capacity of anyone to learn. It is, after all, the etymology of languages today. It is not too late to recapture the purity of the One True Faith. A return to Latin, a return to fundamentals. A return to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and, as our beloved Pius X taught, frequent reception of Holy Communion, especially by children.
St. Joseph: Well put, Martin. I think we are all in agreement on the necessity to return to basics, to return to the official language of Holy Mother Church. How can the Church Militant effect this?
Pope St. Siricus: Devotion to the Blessed Mother, frequent prayer and sacrifice, and the taking up again of penance for one's sins, and for the sins of others.
Pope St. Pius X: A renewal of the Oath against Modernism. A change in the hierarchy away from the long-winded documents of the present Pontificate to the simple language of Truth.
St. Martin of Tours: A renewal, also, of true monasticism. Holy Mother Church has always drawn Life from those who have been vowed to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without monasticism, for both men and women, Holy Mother Church is left to the wiles of satan who has made of Her a sociological organization in the burgeoning world of technology and political correctness.
St. Joseph: Then let us beseech the Almighty, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit on behalf of the One True Faith that it may once again be the path to the Eternal Life that awaits in Heaven. Let us beg of God a great miracle to save the people of this day and age from their own exalted opinion of themselves. Return to the Truth. Return to the Fundamentals. Return to the One True Faith!
Pope Saint Siricus: I couldn't have said it better myself.
Saint Martin of Tours:: Adveniat regnum Tuum, fiat voluntas tua.
Pope Saint Pius X: Sicut in Caelo et in terra.
Pope Saint Siricus: Ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo.
All: Deo Gratias!
St. Joseph: My beloved brothers in Christ, we must end our short discussion now for the sake of the readers. We will convene shortly to further discuss this topic, and others, for the sake of His Sorrowful Passion. Please feel free to come to any discussion, my brothers in Christ, for the faithful on earth need all the assistance Heaven can give to them. Until next time, may Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless all of you on earth, and bring you into the fullness of the Truth, which He set forth in His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church for the salvation of men in every age.
