  • AT ONE WITH GOD
"...now they are no longer two, but one flesh" Matthew 19: 6

There are many dangers afoot that try to ambush couples in marriage and those planning to enter holy matrimony, but the most evil are the 5 a's of artificial contraception, abortion, adultery, abuse and abandonment.
    Pope Paul VI
The world now realizes Pope Paul VI was right!
The Keys to Reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love
Cyndi CainMichael Cain   After introducing this special series on the weekend of the special Jubilee of Families held October 13-14 in Rome, we continue today with the third lesson Vacating Vice in order to Invite Virtue in which we examine the deadly five "a's" that destroy the institution of Holy Matrimony and show how, in order to enter into union with another for life, we need to be sure any tendencies towards these vices are absent. If not, they must be eradicated before the cancer spreads not only to the couple but their immediate family, children, parents and beyond. By following the directives of Pope Paul VI's excellent encyclical Humanae Vitae and Pope John Paul II's equally excellent Evangelium Vitae they can be assured of avoiding the pitfalls and landmines laid out by the five "a's" of artificial contraception, abortion, adultery, abuse and abandonment. Pope Paul VI was right. His encyclical Humanae Vitae was the blueprint for enhancing the Sanctity of Life, but sadly it was rejected and because of that, his warnings of what would happen if people did not embrace the Church's teaching have come true. But it is not too late. Couples can right the ship by going back to these basic, beautiful documents and help bring about a new springtime of love - pure, Conjugal Love. This sensitive and enlightening series is co-written by Michael and Cyndi Cain, who share what the Holy Spirit has inspired them to write including intimate, chasteful revelations of their own lives that have helped elevate their Conjugal Love. The entire concept unlocks the keys to reestablishing the Sanctity of Life through the Charism of Conjugal Love and, through one couple at a time, like a ripple that extends ever outward, we can change the world and eradicate the culture of death. This series will run in each Saturday issue. For the third lesson, see AT ONE WITH GOD series on Conjugal Love

    PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
Today is Day 7 of the Countdown Novena to the Election! Your prayers are vital! We recommend at least a decade a day and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you can say a Rosary a day in hopes of a miracle that America can return to God through this election, that's even better! It's between you and God. Remember, nothing is impossible with Him!
    3 DAYS

    No more Blood and Gore!!

We encourage you to go to the Pro-Life links below to keep up to date on the great battle between life and death - the Sanctity of Life vs. the culture of death led by pro-abort candidates and those who would advance immorality, sodomy, perjury, etc. We refer you to our HOMEPORT ENTRY PAGE where you will find a typograph of a chalice, a chalice overflowing with the innocent blood of the aborted babies nearing 40 to 50 million. Enough is enough! The story and our purpose is outlined in this typograph and for more information and why we will not give up, see DEFEND LIFE Pray and urge others to VOTE FOR LIFE!

        SATURDAY'S LITURGY:

Feast of Saint Charles Borromeo, Bishop

      First Reading: Philippians 1: 18-26
      Psalms: Psalm 42: 2-3, 5
      Gospel Reading: Luke 14: 1, 7-11

Today we wish to praise you as we recall our saintly bishop Charles, who glorified You by his eminent virtues. You gave him to the Church as a solicitous shepherd who was shining light in the darkness of the world and, inflamed with ardent charity, was for Your flock a mirror of life and a model of justice. He led to You the people entrusted to his care and in moments of difficulty he was able to sustain his people with dedicated love.
Taken from the Preface of the Ambrosian Missal for the Mass honoring Saint Charles Borromeo

    The DAILY WORD
Taken from the Gospel for Saturday's Mass

"For everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted."

    Luke 6: 13-16

Events that happened Today in Church History

Cardinal Wolsey's Coat of Arms King Henry VIII    Today is the 471st anniversary of the day when the Archbishop of York Cardinal Thomas Wolsey was arrested by King Henry VIII for his resistance to the king's divorce from Catherine of Aragon and subsequent marriage to Ann Boleyn. Unlike Saint Thomas More who was also arrested and whom Pope John Paul II is proclaiming Patron of Politicians this weekend during the Jubilee of Politicians, Wolsey hedged and did not fully commit, fearful of his own life and therefore lost any opportunity among his fellow Conclave peers to be the next Pope. He had been one of the leading candidates to replace Pope Hadrian VI, the last non-Italian Pope until the election of John Paul II on October 16, 1978. Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenGod must be the source of the humble and show it through their resources

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Before undertaking a task great or small, before making decisions, before beginning a journey, the humble will acknowledge their dependence on God and will invoke His guidance and His blessing on all their enterprises. Even though they be placed above others by vocation, or by the will of the people, they will never cease to recognize that God has made of one blood all the nations that dwell on the earth. If they are very rich they will not be 'defenders of the rights of the poor' without unloading their riches in their aid."
