In honor of the Visitation, the Holy Father reminds us that Lourdes and Fatima present the same "evangelical admonition to watch and pray"
Today we bring you the Holy Father's Regina Coeli Address from this past Sunday given at St. Peter's Square this past Wednesday in which His Holiness reminds us of Mary's role and her counsel to "watch and pray." In preparation for the Feast of the Visitation today, the Pope reflects on the messages of Lourdes and Fatima in Our Lady's evangelical call to prayer and penance and how we all need to comply with God's Will in bringing about the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart. For Pope John Paul II's most recent Regina Coeli address, see THE VICAR OF CHRIST SPEAKS

The DAILY WORD

"And Mary said, 'My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savioor; because He has regarded the lowliness of His handmaid; for, behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed; because He Who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name; and His mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear Him."

Luke 1: 46-50

The Gospa's message for May
May 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message
NOTE: We respectfully recognize and accept the final authority regarding apparitions, locutions and prophecies presently being reported around the world rests with the Holy See of Rome and the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church to whose judjment we humbly and obediently submit.

"Dear children! I rejoice with you and in this time of grace I call you to spiritual renewal. Pray, little children, that the Holy Spirit may come to dwell in you in fullness, so that you may be able to witness in joy to all those who are far from faith. Especially, little children, pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that in the spirit of love, every day and in each situation, you may be closer to your fellow-man; and that in wisdom and love you may overcome every difficulty. I am with you and I intercede for each of you before Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call."

The Boxer Rebellion! California Senator shows her true colors when backed into a corner regarding abortion
    Abortion is Murder
Today Dr. Frank Joseph pulls no punches in telling it like it truly is. Planned Parenthood and other pro-choice pro-abort organizations seem to have a cover-up of their own, which fits comfortably into the on-going culture of death society in which we live. "For what does it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, but suffer the loss of his own soul?" Today, Dr. Joseph recalls a heated discussion between California's very pro-abort Senator Barbara Boxer and Pennsylvania's pro-life Senator Rick Santorum in which he cornered her in exposing her facade. From Russia to Fatima with Love and Conversion

Father Robert J. FoxArchbishop Thaddeus Kondrusiewicz
During this "month of Mary" and the focus on Fatima with the beatifications a few weeks ago of the Fatima Shepherd Children Jacinta and Francisco Marto by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, and with the debut of the DailyCATHOLIC now being published daily in Russian to reach all parts of the former Iron Curtain, we present a special series written by Father Robert J. Fox, director of the Fatima Family Apostolate and editor of the full color Immaculate Heart Messenger. We are delighted to work with Father Robert Fox in bringing you this special series on Our Lady's plans for the conversion of Russia. If anyone knows the temperature of the Faith in the former Soviet Union it is Fr. Fox. These articles first appeared in earlier issues of his full-color magazine Immaculate Heart Messenger which Fr. Fox edits and publishes. Today he share with us the second part of an article he wrote on the first visit ever to Fatima by Archbishop Thaddeus Kondrusiewicz, the Apostolic Administrator for Latin Rite Catholics in European Russia and Archbishop of Moscow. For the second installment of Moscow comes to Fatima, see THE CHURCH IN RUSSIA

    Appreciation
    of Actual Grace
Today we resume our series in the search to uncover the wonderful treasures of the Church contained in the great Deposit of Faith. We present the first part of the catechesis on Actual Grace as explained in My Catholic Faith and how the Holy Spirit works through us in this supernatural in revealing the vacuum of earthly things and instills in us a longing for Heaven and an aid to fight temptations. For part two in the 166th installment, see APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH

Events that happened today in Church History
Pope Clement VIIHenry VIII   On this date 471 years ago in 1529, Pope Clement VII missed a golden opportunity to stop the schism in its tracks when he gathered the Papal Legates in Rome in order to curtail the actions of England's abrasive King Henry VIII. Because he failed to act at this time and let it mushroom out of control for the next several years, the schism became full blown. Had he leveled sanctions on Henry VIII at the time quite possibly the monarch might have compromised, but because the Pope waivered and waited, it weakened Holy Mother Church and allowed Henry's forces to gain strength. For other time capsule events that happened this weekend in Church history, see MILLENNIUM MILESTONES AND MEMORIES

Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenThe separation of state from man's soul
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".
"The stubborn worship of a theory has had most appalling consequences in our day. To the theorist, it does not seem to matter that whole nations are deprived of liberty, that millions starve, that thousands are purged - so long as the theory is maintained in power. Instead of making the hat of governmental policy fit the head of man, the modern tendency is to cut off the head if it does not fit the hat - to demand that institutions, political schemes and social theories must prevail, no matter if their cost proves to be the destruction of man himself."
